Well, this is a great update if Tanki wishes to not sell any paints. I mean, will people really spend hard-earned crys just to "look cool"? Yeah, probably, but the smart people will not do it. Honestly, updates that make the game more fun or more interesting are great. Updates that just change things around in attempts to either coax more money out of people (usually newer players) often ruin what was already doing pretty well or, like this change, just seems sort of stupid and pointless. I really don't think it will generate any more revenue for Tanki Online. I figure there's no point in buying a paint now. Green is groovy with me! There is a point where people, like myself, who has over a dozen accounts and spends some money on them all (not thousands, but yeah, in the hundreds over the last 3-4 years...and if it is in the thousands, well, I really don't want to know, and I sure don't want my wife to know...), sits back and wonders if it is really fun and worth my time to play a game that thinks it must keep changing. As I said, if the point is to make the game more fun, more efficient, different platform (TankiX, for example) and so on, that makes sense, but over the years, there has been more than a few changes that either dumbed down the game (e.g., made it super easy to quickly target using Shaft - now any noob can kill easily with Shaft) or were just stupid changes (e.g., putting a laser on Shaft; you might as well put a disco ball hovering over every Shaft; and take it from someone who was on a tank team in the military: you do not want a disco ball, much less a laser, on your tank; it sort of screams out to the enemy "hey, dudes, I'm over here!" I mean really, use your heads). Anyway, my grumbling won't change anything, and my leaving the game probably wouldn't change anything either, so I'll play along, probably cut back even more time, and eventually, I'll just stop. It is just a game. But it has certainly gotten less and less of my money. So be it.

Will be interesting to see if this stays. Seems like it would motivate players to not complete all the (3) daily tasks since you only have to do 1 per day to get the 7 day bonus.

Welcome Poland! More people = more battles = more crystals. Who can grumble about that?

Have to tell you guys, but while I'm not using the mouse, I've started to have control problems with my Shaft since you introduced the feature. I use the <- -> (and up/down) set of keys, and what's happening is that when I push [space] to aim, the view elevates, as if I am pushing the [up] key, and pushing the [down] key does absolutely nothing at all. I'm no programmer, but this has never happened before, and it only just started when you introduced this feature.

You keep tweaking the aiming feature to where you have to TRY to miss. This was bad enough when you got rid of the 'drift' for Shaft where anyone can use it. Before, it actually took some skill. Dumbing the game down only makes it fun for dumb players, and they won't stick around very long because they will get bored, assuming they can focus upon anything for more than 10 minutes anyway. A game should be a challenge, not merely a means to spend money and waste time, which does not equate to 'fun' in my book. But what do I know, I'm an old man...

Let's discuss the updated system for earlier battle finish

Please, please turn off the horns, the noise, and get rid of the "Atta boy!" "Do something!" "Gonna win!" messages. Just hugely annoying and not helpful in any way. -
Metal Storm (or maybe just 'Storm')

Interesting point of view except that if we take away your speed (which is why you have a light hull), suddenly, your light-weight tank "skills" would be gone. Best to not 'dis someone's "skills" when you likely do not have any of your own other than snatch-n-grab, which again, is only a good tactic when you have speed (and speed ups) to use. Face it: all the tanki configurations have features which we can equate with 'skills' (or not), but few of us have any skill in using an actual tank. Well, okay, I do (1981-1989, 108th AC), but these tanks are not real, are they? And that, actually, is much of what the shaft-player's grumbling is about: who the &^%$ would put what amounts to a strobe light on top of his/her tank? No one would. As for sniping, movement is not always wanted and in fact, snipers often do find a nice hide-hole and fire away. They use things like flash suppression and 'silencers' and other goodies you apparently know nothing about to help them stay hidden and covert. If it works, it works, right? And obviously "camping" and blowing away everyone else on the other side works very well. (And as an aside, why this negativity to defending a flag? "Camping" is defending, and without all those "camping" shafts, you'd likely lose.) Face it: you and many others (myself; I have all hulls and all turrets) like to zip back and forth behind your wall or some other cover and fire away at the bad guys; you've developed your skills to do so, all based on the hull and turret (and paint) you like. Shaft players do the very same thing. They simply can defeat you in your lightweight tank, and that's what's made you mad, that and the fact that we no-skilled shafts own you in battles, even with all your obvious skills. Think on it.

That 'shakiness' was actually pretty consistent with the drift you get in aiming and firing an actual tank, or at least the old M60-series (M60A1 and M60A3 was my experience; maybe Russian tanks didn’t have it, lol). I thought it was a realistic feature that required the user to get to know how the drift worked and to develop some skill in using shaft. I suppose it was too difficult for too many people and they whined about it? The laser bit, though, is really too bad. I can only guess that a lot of people in the game dislike the fact that I and other shaft users actually use strategy to find a good sniper spot, use appropriate camouflage (paint), and then blow them off the map over and over again. Boo hoo. I actually thought it was quite fair for the shaft/mammoth (the most logical combination for shaft, although viking and titan are pretty good too) to be such a wicked sniper vehicle since those of use that use the configuration rarely capture a flag much less are fast enough to get to a crystal drop; we make all our points the old fashioned way: we kill the other guys. (Not saying getting a flag or a crystal drop doesn't happen, but mammoth is obviously at a speed disadvantage and shaft is at a firing rate disadvantage, both of which were offset by the ability to kick butt, fend off attacks, and be stealthy.) I was happy to just make my points by simply killing other tanks and protecting the flag. But now this change has effectively neutered the ability of the sniper. It'll be nothing but rails since the advantage of the shaft has been castrated, more or less. So, sorry tanki, but while I'm sad to see the drift go (one of your developers much be an old tanker), I could live with that disappearing; this laser idea though is beyond being pretty silly; it is contrary to the idea of a sniper. You guys must be catering to those who whine and say the game is too hard. Perhaps some folks should go back to color books and playing with toy soldiers. Or perhaps I should take my money elsewhere. And speaking of money, there really isn't any point in spending it on good paints since this "update" has effectively negated the entire point of my being able to blend in with the surroundings since what amounts to a bulls-eye will appear on me every time I pull the trigger. Sure it can still protect me from fire, but if I was a good sniper, you would never see me. Now you’d have to be blind. Bad idea, tanki. No logical argument for the change other than to satisfy the whiners.

not sure how the battle funds will work out, but I LOVE the idea of fewer crystal boxes; got really tired of playing games where half the players just sat out there and picked up crystals. My new rule was to never play a game that didn't allow friendly fire so I could kill my own teammates if they just sat out there and trolled for crystals. Smart thinking, guys.

All I want to know is will the external scenes of the map truly look like Rio, meaning complete with topless bathing beauties? Am I right, Brazilians? Rio is King (or Queen) of topless beaches? Maybe I need to get out of my work cubicle more, eh?

Fair? Fair is for children who cannot use tools according to their functions. Mammoth was always slow, but powerful. Obviously not designed to capture flags, so it never got the points for that, but it was designed to be hard to kill and to be accurate from a distance. But now, the "fair" of it all is a tank that cannot maneuver due to some *****'s idea of how a tank should steer, and it takes 8 seconds to reload, which is utterly unrealistic (you'd toss your loader out of the tank and teach someone how to drop a breach and toss in a shell in more like 4 seconds). I've about 9 different set ups, and they all suck now. ALL of them. Not due to the hull/weapon combination, but due to BAD reconfiguration of something that was fine to begin with. Guess I'll take my money elsewhere. You guys leave me no choice.
-
My mammoth steers like an old car with no power steering. Not to be mean, but guys, if you've ever been in an actual tank (Russian or American - only the latter for me, as you might guess), they will turn on a dime. That is how the mammoth USED to operate. Honestly, I know you guys get tired of hearing so much grumbling from people no matter what you do, but I simply do not follow the logic in making this hull work badly. If it were a real tank, the government would refuse to buy them. I may not be the government, but I have spent more than a few hundred bucks on the game. Time will tell if I decide to stay around and hand over more of my dollars, or just go elsewhere.

Shaft reload time is ridiculously slow. Really changed the use of the weapon. Now you will have to fire and duck since you're a sitting duck for, what, 8 seconds? Blown to bits by half the tanks, and burned up, frozen solid, or sucked dry by the others. It's pretty much a worthless hull now if you play it any other way than something hiding behind something far, far away from the game (and the loot and the flag). Someone must not like shaft :(
