I think I am waving the white flag of surrender. I have tried to adapt to the changes with Shaft, but it has become a very unbalanced weapon. Why was Shaft singled out for such harsh treatment I wonder... ? The gameplay is also too fast and jerky for me and my computer, so I am taking a break from Tanki. Maybe I will check back in a few weeks to see if anything has changed.

Clear out your junk files / temporary files etc. If you are using Chrome, type in the address bar - about:plugins Make sure you only have 1 flash player enabled.

Major disadvantage for Thunder is in CTF. You take a few hits as you storm the enemy, then as you take the flag a tank spawns nearby. You try to get away (firing on the retreat) and SPLASH - you've killed yourself. On the other hand, in a close up battle this 'self-destruct' can deprive the enemy of kill points. Also, rather than hit the delete key when you want a fresh tank, just turn the gun to a wall and destroy yourself - much quicker.

Another thing that I do is delete all but the latest restore point to free up more HD space (it helps with older computers that don't have a fast drive access). When this is done - and all junk files removed, it's time for a defrag. I never use the Windows defrag tool as it's just so slow... In fact, it speeds up your computer's start up if you disable it in msconfig. I then use Auslogics defrag (free and clean download from Auslogics). I use the 'defrag and optimise' option which puts certain files on the fastest part of the HD. My laptop is pretty old (2006) and I have to use the smoothest running browser. I found IE to be the most choppy, Chrome a little better and Maxthon the best all-round. To minimise lag further, I run in safe mode - with only 500MB of RAM you need to get drastic :)

Is there an easy way to copy the name of an offender ? One of our team with Freeze kept destroying us to get the flag for himself. I did vote the offender, but I am not 100% sure I did it correctly. My team mates became annoyed and left the game. I was the only one to complain and the offender just laughed and continued.

I agree with swede. With a low rank account it can be more exciting because there is more of a 'true balance', and skill is rewarded - not how rich you are ! Playing at lower levels is closer to the true spirit of tank warfare. The best matches at low levels are the ones with other experienced players who are starting out again (not the real beginners who I feel sorry for when they get killed).

No... But think of it this way - try to kill tanks (preferably the enemy ones). Capture the enemy flag. If you did ok you might get some of the battlefund (also known as crystals) at the end of the game.

A Major financial re-structuring of Tanki is taking place. The Developers knew exactly what was going to be the reaction to 123. They kind of 'got away with it' regarding re-balance, but 123 is the last straw for many players. I think the developers have done this reluctantly - but with their hands tied and very limited options for them. Think of the server upgrade recently - how was this financed ? I wouldn't be surprised if some financial institution is leaning very heavily on TO.... I suspect that it's not the developers being greedy, but forces at work in the background.

Had this message a few times. Close browser and run CCleaner (but don't use the registry cleaning part).

Had this myself a few times - I put it down to some random connection failure. I close the browser and run CCleaner, and I can then join battles. Various file cleaning utilities can perform in different ways - for example CCleaner is not aggressive, whereas Auslogics BoostSpeed can remove much more (but then game loading is slower the first time you enter a map). I can't guarantee they will work exactly the same on your computer, but when I've had connection difficulties they have definitely helped . If you do try CCleaner, leave the registry cleaner alone (it often wants to delete root files).

I hope that people can express themselves provided they do so in a polite, reasonable manner. Sometimes we do repeat ourselves but it is a measure of the strength of feeling.

You think you are battling for a decent battle fund - say 100 crystals, but in reality you are battling for 10 'old' crystals because the weapons and hulls etc now cost X10 more ! The 10 crystal boxes that drop are just the same 'real' value as the old 1 crystal boxes. The battle fund paid at the end of the game has in reality been devalued by 50%. We are now battling for half of the old crystal value ! Or, we can think in this way - the garage prices have doubled :(

Something weird today - I was in Barda and I was top scorer. The battle fund was 28 crystals and everyone else left. I waited a couple of minutes and when it finished I got 23 crystals ?? So... no big problem (maybe a glitch or something). But imagine if the battle fund had been much bigger - a pretty big proportion of crystals would have been missing :( Anyone seen this before ? What I have seen sometimes is when the battle ends there are 'ghost' names that appear in the opposite team (people who have left the game). But in this case, there was nobody else - just me.

Can't enter the game - Server configuration error 2032 keeps showing on a black screen. Anyone had this ?

My connection problems have all gone, but now my frame rates are down to the point where things are pretty jerky. The more players join, the slower the FPS. Just coincidence maybe ?
