Want to see how the 'ECONOMICS UPDATE' affects your battle fund earnings?
CaptainSierra replied to Crotter in Archive
The "inflation" is only lining the pockets of those who win. I play TDM and CTF routinely. I played a match today and worked up a decent score. I was in the top half of our team even thoug I was only in for 10 min (isida FTW). the end score was 0:1. We lost and our entire team got NOTHING. All that fighting for NOT A SINGLE FREAKING CRYSTAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. You see my rage? -
HELL FREAKING YES! This seems like a much smarter idea than current. Its always confused me why you have to pay to have less with no supply battles. I think its backwards. You should have to pay to use your drugs. I am fully behind this idea to the death!

Okay, I do some serious ass kicking and can get 80 kills in a 30min deathmatch. Why is my cashflow so frickin slow? It takes me FOREVER to earn money. Tanki is a good game but it isnt an amazing game and until it gets there, I'm not donating. Solution to get M1 & M2 gear fast: anyone?

I think your idea is a more complicated version if this. My model says it either does damage or it doesnt. I can create a more progressive model but that would become more difficult to implement. I think the fact that an M1 railgun can one-shot several different M1 and M0 chassis makes it too strong. Its this or nerf the railgun IMO. I think the situations you present are valid and tactically good but a situation I see a lot and want to remedy is a tank under cover but that didnt hide the very edge of it. Shaft and railgun users exploit this tiny spot to get cheap kills.

For those of you that are on the fence, this is a rough concept. I do not plan on developing the sketch model any further unless popular demand demands otherwise. I can absolutely rework it so M0-M3 are represented. This is the idea. Railguns can get kills with the slightest graze. Now those guns would become harder to use and require more skill. Tanki claims to operate on a realistic physics engine. Without a system like this, they are shooting their claim or realism to hell. Tanki may not be real life or a simulator but they do say it is meant to be semi-realistic.

Let me tell you a story. You are happily sniping noobs on Highland with a shaft/mammoth combo. You get hit by a shaft and need to retreat. Just before you are completely hidden, a railgun clips the front edge of your chassis and you die. In real life can you kill a tank by pounding the very front edge into oblivion? OF COURSE NOT!!!!! Why should Tanki be any different? I propose a collision model that can be hitt but won't register damage in addition to a damage model. See my photo below for further explanation. If you have any questions, feel free to reply. **Thunder blast damage can still get you even if it doesn't hit the damage model. Same with firebird & freeze. NOT true for railgun.** This sketch is a rough sketch of a viking/thunder combo done quickly with Paint. Tanki Collision model by Zach "Sierra" Sykes, on Flickr.

This is great. Now I can see only the mode I feel like playing and my battle list is less cluttered. Next we need a way to sort by rank. -Sierra

THe framerate seemed poor. what software are you recording with? I never use it but I have XSplit. If anyone wants to see some new guy skill, lemme know and I will fire my XSplit back up.

I think the clan and team rank requirements are stupid. They are deliberately discriminating against us newer folk who aren't as skilled. As such, I am considering starting an unofficial clan with NO rank limits. I don't want or care about TANKI's endorsement on this. If anyone would like to help with startup, PM me.

For starters, you cant just refund ALL the money. then its pointless. Maybe a 50-75% refund like a mortgage would be more appropriate. It'd make players be able to make a quick buck off of an old chassis they never use but it adds the risk of being a full price if they ever need it back. It reduces some of the risk involved in uying weapons and chassis by a partial refund and it makes strategic thinking come into play a little more.

I agree with all of this. I especially agree that the generic currency and premium currency being one in the same makes earning money take forever if you don't believe in pay-to-win. My main objection is that you can buy XP and this leaves no limits on players' abilities to pay to win. I am constantly outmatched by people who have spent money and have all the good guns and chassis.
