    спасеба всем за игру. i had a lot of fun, learned a little Russian, gave a few bucks over the years to the great project. Tanki's greatest strength is the people. When they upgrade to Unity and or Steam I will be first there. For now it is time, finally, to delete flash from my machines and say пока пока.

    Being bullied during battle

    sorry this happened to you. similar things have happened to me once or twice. I really wish Tanki had an "/ignore nickname" feature which would make messages from that player not appear in my client chat. Many good forums on the internet ( like arstechnica.com ) have adopting some kind of "Ignore user" feature and it makes a huge amount of positive difference. I know the flood protection is pretty good, but an 'ignore' feature is like personalized flood protection and is even better.

  4. Some of my most fun moments in Tanki are when people join at the end of a game and transform a 7-0 game to a 7-6 game. Very exciting. Perhaps that is gone now? I am not sure I understand the end-early system, although I realize with a fixed-time battle it becomes necessary in order to keep the hopeless games (0 enemy) from becoming a boring 'wait for the clock' thing.
  5. Yes. The new system is not working as intended - the battle is lasting longer than it used to. I had a 15 minute CTF battle where we got about 7 flags in 6 minutes, while the enemy got 0. Most of them left the battle. We continued to get flags until the score was about 15-0 and there were zero enemy left - but the game still did not end early. The counter continued as normal the full 15 minutes. Also the horns kept going off.

    Abusing and Dis-respectful Players

    I agree with the OP. I started playing this game partly to learn Russian. I have learned a lot of bad words. This is not just a problem of TO but on twitter, facebook, the entire internet. Solutions 1. /ignore nickname command - don't display any messages from a specified user in chat. (or a right-click option on tab-team list). This could even be made into a 'not-friend' list, like the friend list but for people you dont want to listen to, or dont want to play in games with. I should not have to see someones text on the screen if they are flooding nonsense, curses, swearing, etc. If someone gets ignored by a large number of players, Admins should investigate and ban. 2. Clarify /vote in the documentation When I was a noob I did not understand vote was for gameplay violations, i thought it was for chat violations. There should be some better descriptions in the documentation of what 'vote' is for. 3. better blacklist of words There are many, many English curse words that are not being blocked with *****. 4. better blacklist algorithm Many people will get around the bans by separating letters with a space or underscore. It is very simply to create an algorithm to detect this. If flower is a cuss word, then someone typing "you are a flow er" should be blocked from chatting for a while. 5. Make reporting easier Uploading screenshots to the forum is fine, but it takes too long. Surely Tanki has chat logs stored on a server somewhere. 6. Penalty Box, like in Hockey! Put tanks in a penalty box... dont just disable chat, disable their tank! Thanks.

    Let's Discuss Shaft!

    Played some hours at my level with the new Shaft. It is quite interesting, actually I like it alot. HazelRah's suggestions posted above, are being used by a lot of people that I saw, and they work well. Serpuhov has become a little bit of a new map - not just because of the lasers, but because there is no longer 'sway' or 'drift', you can now easily hit targets at the back of the other side of the map. The elevation difference between the lower team and upper team's home base is just barely enough to get shots past. With the old drift, this was a 'luck' scenario, as you hadn't the accuracy to guarantee a good shot. Now, however, you can literally sit a few feet away from your own flag, and shoot enemy tanks that are right next to their enemy flag. A number of people have already figured out the "new" hiding spots and I have seen many situations where several tanks were fighting over a flag, and a long distance Shaft shot made the difference, allowing the friendly to get away with the flag. Rio was interesting... I was trying to snipe people going on the 'top route', but they instantly figured out where I was, turned, and shot me. So much for cleverly hiding. I also spent some time being shot by shafts while trying to run around the map. It is an odd feeling, watching that laser come in and focus on you, knowing there is probably nothing you can do to avoid being blown up. You barely have time to react, but it's not enough time usually, unless they are having problems. Most of the time, it's kind of like running into a Mine. You barely have time to see it coming, maybe do something unconsciouly to avoid it, but a lot of the time you are going to wind up blown up. The strangest thing is that you can now destroy enemies easily just by shooting the barrel of their gun that is poking around a corner. With drift this was difficult, with no drift it is a bit easy. It seems funny to blow up a Mammoth by shooting the tip of the gun barrel from across the map, but it works. my two cents.
  8. I personally have seen less druggers since the update. Maybe it is the rank I am, or that I almost always do CTF? I dont know. If I was seeing what you are seeing, id agree shaft is going to be hurt alot. But Mafioza121 has just posted Generalissimo shafts doing very well. I dont know.
  9. I typically use Shaft or Isida in Capture the Flag (CTF) battles. One thing not mentioned is that Shaft is the pefect gun for people with bad framerates. In the Rio map I regularly get 2-3 FPS depending. But if I switch to Shaft, i can contribute to the team because the framerate FPS goes up when I am not moving around so much. If the game is going to be more 'dynamic' then it also means the people who choose Shaft for low-framerate issues will not be able to play the new style. Perhaps that is not a large number of people but I'm sure it's not zero. Running around Rio, Future, and even the new heavy-tree Serpuhov can grind the rendering engine to single digit FPS rather easily on some computers. However, the recent Supplies Update (smart timers update) has made changing Shaft kind of necessary. Most old 'fighting' druggers (like Thunder, Ricochet, Fire, Freeze) had to engage 3 supplies - defense, offense, and speed. With Shaft in a sniping position, you really only ever needed one, Double Power. Double armor was nice, but not necessary to get a lot of kills. Speed was not really an issue. So Shaft has gotten a bit of a 'boost' from the supplies update - since a lot of targets are no longer going to have Double Armor turned on most of the time... it provides easier kills for Shaft. So I can see the need for the change. However, this will change the game in dramatic ways. Some maps are apparently specifically designed for 'old shaft', especially Lost Temple, which has a bunch of trees and bushes that hide shafts on purpose from being seen. This will no longer be possible - those snipers will be dead instantly. Also snipers in Serpuhov who protect the flag by hiding and shooting all flag-stealers, well, they will be instantly dead too. The attackers will simply see the red light, go around behind the building, and kill Shaft right there. Shaft is nearly helpless at short range combat vs, say, Isida. I know the idea is "dont go into sniper mode until you can see the enemy". But the Serpuhov flag-protection sniper only has a split-second to make a shot, an enemy Wasp can run in, grab the flag, and be gone from view in less than a second. This will fundamentally alter Serpuhov gameplay (at least for the ranks I am used to). I think it will be a very interesting update.... I am looking forward to the new experiments. That's what shaft was always about -- experimenting. Seeing where you can hide, how you can contribute to the team, whether your enemy knows your hiding spots, what kind of weapons your enemy is using, etc etc. My only real worry is that Monte Carlo will just be a massive confusing mess of laser pointers.

    Sniper awarding

    I have seen several CTF where snipers made the difference between winning and losing. The main use of snipers here is to stop enemies from capturing the flag, and to kill enemies who are chasing your own teammember who has the flag. I am not sure how the game can measure this. Perhaps.... 1. Bonus for killing any enemy inside of a 20 meter circle around your own flag. This will help not only snipers but also it will help 'freeze campers' who sit on the flag with a mammoth and a freeze gun (which can also make a difference in CTF). 2. Bonus for killing enemy who is within 20 meter circle of your teammate, if your teammate is carrying the enemy flag. All that being said, I don't think its that big of a problem anymore since the supplies system has changed.
  11. I have a solution. World of Tank Craft There will be a single 'Main' world. Some areas of the world will have 100% legal drugs (the Bandit Territories), some areas will not. The current 'battle arenas' will become like 'Dungeons' in World of Warcraft. You have to drive to them in a unified overmap, but when you enter the dungeon its split off into an instance with a small group of players. If the battle dungeon is in the Bandit areas it has 100% legal supply usage. If it is in Normalia then the supply rules are restricted in battle dungeons. Also you can drive to garages. Diff garage have diff items and prices! Black market Garages in bandit territory even have unregulated 'super supplies' that give extra boost but have a probability of overheating your tank and destroying it. And if you bring those back to Normalia the guard tanks will hunt you down swiftly! Ok, getting carried away, just thought it was funny to think about.

    The last version of Wasp m0

    I am very concerned about the new Wasp. My main concern regards how the paint "In Love" (the pink hearts) will look. The skirt around the tank treads has been removed - and there is a complicated bottle graphic on the back. Both of these will reduce the amount of space for pink hearts to be displayed on the tank. I am concerned that the tank will simply not have a sufficient ratio of hearts to mass in order to make it a good tank. Thank you.
  14. Most people did not expect WWII either. WW I was supposed to be the war to end all wars. After WW I there were many efforts by the world leaders to prevent any more world wars. The League of Nations was founded, for example, to prevent war. It failed. Most people did not imagine WWII would ever happen. Right up until it happened. In other words, it doesn't matter if we expect it or not, it will come regardless. Some forces are so big that we do not understand them nor can we predict them. We can only survive them. I would say one of the best books on this subject is War and Peace by Tolstoy.
  15. Future is a great map IMHO, but slow to render, i imagine a lot of people will stay away because their computer cannot do it.
