why is tanki unfair and people are leaving?

Been playing on and off for a while, and I still love the game. Hackers eventually get owned, so while annoying don't annoy me too much. Players buying stuff help fund the games costs, so they pay for me to play. Let them! And multies? Well, not game is perfect. What can mods do? Just report them and move to a new game. Let the multies play with themselves. They probably do that a lot already.

    Let's Discuss Shaft!

I will say up front Shaft is about the only weapon I use, and I do it on a Viking for mobility. I do it because: I am old. I can't multitask well enough to drive, turn turrets and shoot. Drives me mad. I am old. I have the patience to find a good position to support my team and try to dominate some ground for them, to release others from defense or cover attacks. I am sad. As someone who did 22 years in the Army, I like having a tank that's well.... like a tank. In 2 decades I never saw a tank firing blue balls or bouncing shots round corners. Honest, not once. I admit I am still low level, being a Captain, but I have helped my team win many a battle and can honestly say that to date I don't think I have cost one. If I join a team and it's already got shafts, I bail out and go elsewhere so I don't handicap the play.

"No-kill" rule during gold box drop

I always continue to chase kills during gold box drop. There are several reasons: Half the enemy team will continue shooting, so if you don't you die. In CP or Cap games some slower or smarter enemies use it as a chance to rack up points while everyone is chasing the GB. This can suddenly take you from a strong winning position to less secure ground, and sometimes cost you the win. I would sooner have someone on my own team get the GB, as often I am playing with a friend if possible so killing the enemy increases my mates chances. As I NEVER chase the GB, I don't get excited about it anyway.

Name your favorite hull and gun

Shaft on Viking. Fast enough to bug out or occupy a good position, and the power to make it count when you fire.

    Defense in Tanki Online

Still learning the ropes, but it seems to me a good mix of weapons and hulls balances a team nicely. The key thing I have observed so far is teamwork. When players work together they become deadly. Lots of team healing from the Isidas, overwatch cover from the shaft, the close in kills for the freeze, firebird and twins players, and the all round nastiness of the smoky, thunder and railgun firepower. When you have a 10 strong team with a decent mix of that working together your gonna take some names. Conversely, when half your team seems intent on ramming each other, blowing each other away or shooting at you just to put you off I think it/s better to bug out and play a different match. A team like that sucks so bad it's lost before the 1st round goes down range.

    Let's Discuss Shaft!

Well, I am still very new but I use Shaft in most of the games I play. I find I can support attacks when my team move on the enemy flag, cover their withdrawal, break up enemy attacks if I can rotate quickly enough and can make things so hard for the opposition I end up drawing a lot of enemy fire, making things easier for my faster team mates. Today I had a Moon Silence game where I managed to get a very high kill count. Surely that is exactly the purpose of the shaft. Let's face it, as an assault weapon you would be better taking a banana. I don't mind that it does not 1 shot kill a lot of things. It makes the enemy react to it's presence, and that gives my team an edge. In fact, the only thing I don't like about it is the abuse you get from some players for "camping". All the swearing and names gets a little tiresome. It is, after all, a tank game. I have never seen a short range tank in my life. By definition, they all move about or wait in ambush placing well aimed DU rounds in other tanks. Why people get so upset I will never know. I don't complain when the racing Twin gets past my shot and smashed me. It's part of the game.
