  1. REBUTTAL 1: Why do things need to be "better", why cant everything be equal? REBUTTAL 2: Simplicity is bliss, having 7 well balanced tanks with like 5-7 well balanced weapons would be more than enough if the gameplay is fun. If you need more tanks and weapons for this game to be fun, than the game itself just isnt much fun to play. The original Halo still has a following +10 years later, and there are only like 12 weapons in the game, and there are no ranks or unlocks, everything you need is laying on the map. REBUTTAL 3: So why do HIGHER ranking players NEED an advantage over newer, lower ranking players? The very concept is unbalanced and frustrating for new players. You want a decent example of a game that is bit better balanced, take a look at Hawken. It doesnt have many mech or weapons, but having fewer, very balanced items works wonderful by themselves.
  2. I just don't think I like the ranks really, for a simple browser game, I don't want to spend countless hours unlocking stuff. Here is what I would have done: Create 7 tanks (chassis), ranking from lowest health to highest health: 1. Fastest Tank, but turns 2nd fastest 2. 2nd fastest tank but turns fastest 3. 3rd fastest but turns 5th fastest 4. 4th fastest and turns 4th fastest (perfect middle tank) 5. 5th fastest but turns 3th fastest 6. 6th fastest but turns the slowest 7. 7th fastest but turns 6th fastest Everyone starts with a 4. Then have short rank promotions (like, 1 promotion per full length game), then every other rank, you give an unlock, starting with either 3 or 5, working outward, you pick either to go fast or go slow. What I like about this, is the fastest tank does not have the fastest turning rate. 1 and 2 are light tanks, 3-5 are medium tanks and 6-7 are heavy tanks. So after an hour of play, you might have 3 tanks unlocked. There is no need for this M0-M3 nonsense, just the basic tanks. As for the weapons, you would alternate unlocking a weapon opposite the tank unlock ranks. The only special thing I would do here, is limit the weapon with the shortest range to the Lights tanks and longest range weapon to the Heavy tanks. I would try to balance the weapons so even the starting weapon is a good weapon to use. Also, like with the Chassis, there are no weapon ranks, just the basic weapons and thats it. A game like this, I would like everything to be on the same level playing field without higher ranking people having an advantage. This isn't Call of Duty, we dont need it to be that way. I just want to be able to hop in a tank and have a good time, and not have to worry about ranks and higher damaging weapons that makes it hard for few comers. This game seems a bit too complex in the meta-game and not complicated enough in the real game. I would think a game like this should focus more on game play and not ranks/unlocks/grinding. I guess the age of games like the original Halo where there were no ranks and unlocks are a thing of the past. Oh, and CTF spawn timers would be fine at 10 seconds, but I agree 20 is too much. I live in the United States, so of course I have good English. I do notice this game must be a big hit in Russia.

New to the game, first impressions and thoughts

I found this game because I'm trying to find fun games that will play on my Chromebook, and this is one of the few 3D games that work, and it seems to play rather well with all the display settings turned off (Samsung Series 3 Chromebook). I've only played a few games, and here are my thoughts so far: 1. Higher ranked players have too much of an advantage, it seems their weapons have a higher DPS which is a bit unbalanced for new players. In a game like this, I would rather see weapons have the same DPS, but either recharge slower, or are more effective at shorter/longer ranges. 2. I think all the tanks should go into a linear curve of bigger/slower and smaller/faster. I see where you can upgrade your tanks from M0 to M3, which I think is a waste because clearly M0-M2 are not as good as M3. Instead of tanks being clearly better than others, they should just be tweaked so ones are faster with less health, and slower with more health, and maybe some turning rate differences to tell them apart. So if I want to be a smaller/faster tank, its not to say its any better or worse than those wanting to be in a bigger/slower tank. I would also approve of different size tanks limited to different weapons. So maybe all tanks can use mid-range weapons, but maybe only small tanks can use short range and big tanks can use long range weapons. A game like this could really benefit from locked-down Battlefield style classes where different size tanks would have different weapons and abilities, but maybe you could still customize somewhat. 3. The spawn timers are too short, especially in CTF, where the enemies practically insta-spawn around their flag. These games need to have a higher respawn timer because it seems pretty impossible to score a flag. This is coming from a medicore Halo 1 player who is used to 5-10 second respawns in CTF. 4. The one map I was playing CTF on, seemed really small, not sure what map it was, but I'm hoping not all of them were that small. I did enjoy myself, but I feel like the game balance is rubbing me the wrong way, but the game at least has a lot of potential, it is a pretty fun Chrome OS compatible game compared to everything else available.
