There are so many maps in Tanki, yet so few of them are played. There are quite a few maps that look like they'd be quite interesting, but I'm ashamed to say that I've never actually played at match on them. They never come up in the battle list, and I'm not willing to create one myself because I know that no one will join it. I think we definitely need some sort of encouragement to get people to play on these "forgotten" maps. Who knows what we're missing out on?

Oh Abyss, what a great map you were. It's nice to see that I'm not the only person who thinks Abyss is much better than Skyscrapers. As a matter of fact, I started a topic in "Ideas and Suggestions" a while ago, asking if people would support bringing Abyss back to Tanki. Here's the link to the topic: Bring Back Abyss - Ideas and Suggestions - Tanki Online Forum Feel free to comment there. Who knows, we might even get this old gem of a map back! Nurburgring

To be completely honest, these new effects for some reason just make me think "Revenge of the Noodles." Railgun looks like a drawn out piece of spaghetti, while Isidia just looks. . . wrong. Either it's a big noodle, or (with the red M3 especially), like a demonic dog is trying to lick you. Back with the old effect, Isida used to really scare me, but now I just stare at it in bewilderment thinking "what harm can a noodle/tongue cause?" Obviously with any new update people are going to be nostalgic and think that the old effects were better, but in this case, I really do think that the new effect need some work. How would I make them better? For Isida (which needs the most work), I'd say make it thinner, as many people have suggested. After all, they're nano-bots, which means that they would be very small. Therefore, you wouldn't need a huge stream of them to be effective. I think that the original Isida would be too thin, but somewhere in between what we have now and what we used to have would look a lot better. Otherwise, I might start calling the turret "Isidog". . .

I've got a couple of thoughts on this matter. To be honest, I'm of the mindset of "the more the merrier." More maps can only increase the variety of battles. I've played on both maps (not on the new Cologne, mind you; only when it was the old version) and enjoy both of them. Cologne gives a feeling of space where you can move freely, while Edinburgh feels more cramped, which makes me feel more nervous. All in all, they're both great maps. Nurburgring

1 million crystals for conquering the new map's peak!

I really hope that I'm misinterpreting this, but from the sounds of it, Abyss will be. . . replaced? Gone forever? Deleted? :( I love Abyss; it's my favorite map to play on. You've already changed it twice since I've been playing Tanki, and while I still think the original version was the best, the new Abyss is still better than no Abyss at all. Please tell me that you are going to keep this amazing map! I don't mind the addition of another map (I welcome it!), but don't do it at the expense of Abyss. P.S. Don't you dare touch Novel either! <_< -
That's a bit annoying. After all, the developers go to all the trouble of creating new maps, only to be used by fewer than 100 people for less than an hour?

Will the other Tanki players be able to play on the special racing maps? I think it would be really fun to have some unofficial races between ourselves, for those of us who weren't chosen for the games (or too low a rank).

I just remembered another battle that I was really proud of. It was a Novel TDM and I joined with my m0 hornet and thunder with green paint just as the game ended. It was an almost full battle, but after it restarted, pretty much everyone left. The result: I was alone on my team, facing three enemy tanks. That's right, 3v1. So I figured, why not give it a try. I found that two of the enemies were on hornets, one with railgun and one with isida, and the last tank was a titan with a thunder I think. Anyway, I quickly realized that the best tactic was to avoid the titan; if I saw it, I just turned and ran away. Apart from that, I just became a ghost. I kept moving, only taking opportunity shots, but never giving my position away. In the end, I had to leave, but the score was 5-5. Considering I was facing 3v1 odds, I thought that was pretty good.

I've got two gold boxes so far, both of which were pretty memorable. 1st: I had never even SEEN a gold box, and was already a Warrant Officer 1 if I remember correctly. Then, in a Highland TDM, I see the alert and rush to the edge of the center section. It drops right in the middle (a 2014 box), and I rush towards it, but even as I do, I see one of my teammates beside me, on the same hull, just slightly ahead of me. The first gold box I ever saw, and I missed it by about 2 feet. Then, two days later, in a Serpuhov CTF, I see the notification. I'd see the alert once before, but never saw the box come down. I guessed that it must had dropped in the valley in front of the red base, so when I saw the notification this time, I quickly jumped down there. I sat there for about 20 seconds with no one around, and suddenly saw it floating serenely down on top of me. Add 3,000 crystals to my balance thank you very much! 2nd: Happy New Year TDM. I was in a very high ranking game, and saw the notification. I drugged and got up on the main plateau with the Christmas tree, but it seemed like every other tank in the game got up there too, and I was quickly killed. I thought "OK, there goes that gold box. Or maybe. . ." I'd seen some normal crystal boxes drop at the end of the roadway, on the red side, just next to the house. It seemed like an awful long time since the gold box was announced; I thought someone should have gotten it by then. So I went to have a look just in case. Again, no one was anywhere to bee seen, and there it was, just sitting there looking lonely with "3,000" on its side. "Nurburgring has taken the gold box."

What is you most memorable battle?

We've all got one; one battle that sticks in our minds. One where we overcame the odds, to emerge victorious (or maybe just miss out at the last moment). One where you felt that you played better than your best, and were on top of the world. Tell that story here! To start off, here's one that sticks in my mind: It was a Combe TDM. Post-new physics, but pre-map reworking, so it was still the small one. I was a Warrant Officer 1 with an m0 hornet, m0 thunder, and metallic paint. There was one slot open on the red side. The score: 60-ish to 20-ish, with blue in the lead and about 15 minutes to go. I'm somewhat of an optimist, and will sometimes join a losing team just to see if I can make them win. Anyway, by the 10 minute to go mark, we were 40-ish kills to 80-ish blue kills. Looking at the score, I realized we had to get 2 kills for ever one blue kill to win, since I was guessing it was originally a 20 minute match. That really spurred me on, and after that, I was on fire (thankfully not the burnt-from-firebird kind). I'd take 3-5 kills, then go back to an Isida if we had one, or slef-destruct with the splash damage from thunder, so I wouldn't give the blue team a kill. I'm not sure what the exact score at the end was, but it was probably something around 120 for red, 100 for blue; either way, we won. Then, with about 30 seconds to go, my 3 teammates all left and then came back, which erased their points. That meant that they got no reward while I got something like 847 crystals, which to me was the icing on the cake. What are your most memorable battles? -
Where did you see that they're working on these hulls and turrets? A TV guided missile would be brilliant. I've got several flight simulators that have them, and they are wonderful.

Since when is November "soon?" Still, those sound like they'll be a lot of fun. Where did you see that they were working on those?

Too bad about getting your posts deleted, TankCommando. The reload would definitely be greater than shaft, Xenophobia. I like metalcrusher's idea though, but with one small change. I've got a picture in my head of a wasp running away from a guided missile. . .

In the "In development" page of Tanki, there is a line that says "prototypes of new weapons." It's been there for a while and is still in the "planned" section (i.e. not being worked on at the moment). This has got me thinking: what type of weapon would it be? Here's my idea: We've already got 3 short range turrets and 4 medium range, but only 2 long range, so it's likely to be a long range turret. It will probably be high powered too, maybe even slightly higher than shaft. One of the things that I've been disappointed that Tanki doesn't have is a parabolic trajectory for weapons. Therefore, I'm thinking that this might be a mortar type weapon. You might even be able to hit enemies hiding behind objects. . . Obviously the aiming mechanism would have to be completely reworked. Perhaps a top view of the map, or maybe even a radar type screen so that you can see all of the tanks on the battlefield (this could also be used to warn other tanks of enemy movement, kind of like a battle commander). It would also have splash damage like thunder, so you can still damage an enemy with a near miss. What do you guys think? What would your ideal new weapon be? Maybe we can even give the developers some ideas!

did u check ur SPAM FOLDER it probably there....try to check it out Yup, tried that. I think changing the email after signing up messed it up. And I don't have that old email that it was originally sent to. I guess I won't get any prize this year; I'll just have to wait until next time. At least I can still have fun working out the clues. I just won't get any reward for it. -_-
