The Ultimate Guide to FIREBIRD By: XOR36 My Thoughts: Ah, Firebird, a turret overused in the low ranks, but rarely seen in the high ranks. One might wonder when reading this, why would Firebird, such worthy and mighty weapon be so rare in the high ranks. Well you see, Firebird is a turret similar to twins. Not as much by playing style, but by price and unlocked rank. Firebird is a weapon extremely cheap and easily played with in the m0-m1 ranks, but hard to maneuver and purchase in the m2-m3 ranks. This is mainly because of the large gap between m1-m2 (Master Sergeant-Major). During this time, most Firebirders lose faith in their weapon and move on. Not saying that it's a bad thing, and in fact I highly recommend it. However, many of you may not be well suited with the Firebird’s gameplay so, this gap will give you a chance to try out other weapons to best suit your fill. During this important part in your tanki career many of you will not be raking in crystals, and also will not be buying. Therefore, in your recruit-sergeant period, you have (hopefully) tested out most of the turrets in the game, so the warrant officer period will be the moment where you choose the turret that you will take (hopefully) to Generalissimo. Now, I'm not saying that you shouldn't buy other turrets/hulls as well, in fact you should, it's always good to have a backup, however, you will most likely have a main tank and use it for most of your career. So the question still remains, to Firebird or not to Firebird? (By the way, you will see my opinions/experience throughout this article) Firebird History: Firebird was one of the few turrets which existed since the beginning of tanki. It has been far adored by players due to its unique burning effect and its unique gameplay on existing in Firebird. Ever since the rebalance and the creation of Freeze, a far more cheap and “effective” weapon than Firebird, Firebird has become much less popular. Firebird Statistics: Firebird is most often a turret in the wrong hands, especially if you’re a recruit who just joined the game, scrolling through the garage and thinking, “Oh, a flamethrower sounds awesome!” Unlocked at recruit it’s extremely powerful, with whopping 13 damage per half second and powerful burn afterwards, it can kill a mammoth with just one release of its fuel. Its rotation speed and acceleration is slightly slower than freeze but still extremely fast. Its reload time and fuel consumption is still quite low, but with a turret so overpowered, it has to have some weaknesses. The problem with this is that once recruits get a hang of firebird, they play with it in all the wrong ways. The main problem I see with these Firebird users is that they use a light tank, find any opponent and ram them while shooting flames. Along with that, most Firebird users tend to be might I say…stupid? They use their entire fuel then…die. Along with that they don’t turn their turret at all, which I guess is okay since it’s a firebird, but a firebird’s main purpose (in my eyes) is the quick kill, and it’s hard to do so if you make full turns, kill everything you see, and die. This is why most people lose their Firebird and move on. But they will be missing out on the fun once they hit the major rank. The m2 modification for Firebird is just amazing, its pure destruction hidden inside a turret. The turret’s damage per tick (half second) increases from17, 7353 to 25, 8529! The m2 upgrade is the biggest upgrade that Firebird has ever seen! Along with that comes the added increased reload, turret turning speed, acceleration, etc. This is really when things get fun. By this point however, many tankers have moved on, and chose other turrets, but to you faithful Fire birders, congratulations, this is where the excitement starts. From here Firebird is well versed against even some Generalissimo battles. Hopefully you make it to the Commander rank from there. Once you’ve raked enough crystals for m3, you’re all set. Give the other players some shock by showing off your turret, then proceed to incinerate them. The m3 modification is also a force to be reckoned with, its increase is the second biggest upgrade to the turret, and its damage becomes much higher than freeze’s. Here’s a table to show pretty much most of what I’ve said so far in much detail. Pros: · High damage combined with burn · Extremely powerful in small maps · Burn hurts other players even after you die · High turret rotation speed · Hits through other tanks within your range Cons: · Small Range · Low reload · Weak in large maps · Expensive · Large gap between m1-m2 modifications · Cone angle (angle of fire vertically) is considerably smaller than Freeze’s Combinations: · Wasp-Fire: Not bad, the high speed allows you to reach others quickly and make it in time for the kill. However, the pesky railguns and shafts can one shot you easily. Not so good in DM/TDM but effective in CTF/CP game modes. · Hornet-Fire: Strong combo for CTF/CP. The high speed and the extra bit of health allows you to survive the railgun shot and capture the flag. Not so good in DMs, okay in TDMs. · Hunter-Fire: Great combo for all situations. The average speed and health allows you to reach enemies and survive railgun and shaft shots. Acts as a mid-fielder in CTF, Strong in small CP maps, Great in both DMs and TDMs, however the lack of high speed allows enemies to escape in some situations. · Viking-Fire: Just a better combo than hunter. Able to survive two railgun shots and one shaft shot, it’s slightly below average speed promotes aggressive head on battle. The lack of high speed allows enemies to escape in some situations. Acts as a midfielder in CTF, great in small CPs, Dominates in DMs and TDMs. · Dictator-Fire: An odd combo for firebird users. Dictator is a big target allowing many shafts and rail gunners to hit it easily. Firebird, also has no knockback so the extra height won’t help much either. Below average speed allows players to escape your reach however the extra armor might just be the thing to save your life. Acts as a midfielder in CTF, great in small CPs, Dominates in DMs and TDMs. · Titan-Fire: A combo that I wouldn’t recommend with Firebird. Simply because of the fact that its defense doesn’t make up for Firebird’s quickly-paced gameplay. Firebird doesn’t have the freezing effect to immobilize enemies so a faster hull would be recommended. However, in small maps, where escape may be harder, this combination may be a smarter choice. Acts as a defense and midfielder in CTF, Great in small CPs, Dominates in small DMs and TDMs. · Mammoth-Fire: Pretty much the same as mammoth but slightly more buff. As the slowest tanki in the game, it doesn’t match up with Firebird’s game play style. However, in small maps this combination will wreak havoc. It acts as a defense and midfielder in CTF, great in small CPs, Dominates in DMs and TDMs. Tips for using Firebird: In large maps stay in cover as much as possaible and scavange the area until you can find targets to kill easilyIn maps like Serphouv/Stadium there will most likely always be a shaft/railgun ready to snipe you from faraway. To avoid this, travel along caves or stay in cover, if you find one of these tanks try not to get hit until after they have shot. This is because after one shot, their long reload prevents them from doing much harm until after you have finished them off. Use your fuel wisely and always keep your eye on the fuel barAs a recruit, I've had many moments where I'd finished off one tank, then ran out of fuel for the next tank. Try hitting all of them at the same time, or just don't engage them unless neccessary Use the burn to your advantage and try not to use too much fuel, allow for the burn to finish your enemiesAdding on to the previous tip, allowing the burn to finish off your enemies really saves time and fuel Play in small maps to make up for the limited rangeTo avoid traveling in cover completly, join small maps so you can reach other players easily. Also, in small maps like farm it's less likely to have a Shaft/Railgun then suppose a Firebird, Freeze or Isida. Don't charge out to the open Its never a good idea to be exposed to other tankers. As said in the first tip, as a firebird you should always be hidden. Its always annoying when you're dealing with one tank, then another tank spots you. Always be on the move, a good Firebird is always looking for its next victimThis applies more to light tanks, however, Firebird is like an assassin, hiding undercover, traveling unseen, and most importantly, looking for its next victim. Be smart and don't try to go for mammoths/titans, unless neccessaryAlthough you can kill them in one fuel release, don't try to kill mammoths/titans because it will just use up your fuel and you will probably get killed in the process When drugging, use even less fuel because your burn does two times as much damageA drugging firebird I have to say is one of the most overpowered things in tanki. If they get close to you then you're done. If you are one, then don't even bother to try and use your fuel, your burn should be able to take care of most things. Final Words: Firebird is a truly unique turret to the game. It’s price and unlocked rank may keep others from picking it up again, but if handled correctly, this turret will bring to victory to many of your games! Good Luck Tankers! -
Wait guys, is the crystals distributed equally per team or 200k each member?

Will there be a Kit with Firebird m2 or m3?
XOR36 replied to XOR36 in Will there be a Kit with Firebird m2 or m3? Archive
This would seem reasonable because firebird is one of the most if not the most expensive turret in-game. Not to mention m3 fire is over 2 times the amount you pay for m3 isida. Firebird is a quite extraordinary gun, but it's pricey amount keeps people from buying it. Maybe if there was a kit beside the first one (m1 firebird is quite useless anyway it's hardly different from m0) people would come to appreciate firebird. Many people don't use firebird ever after leautenent (can't spell) So I'd like to ask for a kit with firebird m2 or m3. Suggestions? Yes? No? Support? :D Im a  of firebird, but can't really use it because current;y m1 is for (noobies) if you don't mu it. Hoping to get m2 firebird soon. :D Has m2 freeze though, but it's not the same as firebird. -
