The Quickfire alt is not as good as the increased arcade mode alt (30k). This makes shaft excellent especially in DM where it can 4 hit a Viking. The duplet alt with hammer is obviously very strong. Should you have to choose between the two, hammer + alt will probably be more useful. But both are quite different and excellent in the right scenario

To answer your question, it's difficult to compare. In my opinion, the map and mode makes a big difference. For example, I would take thunder over striker on Bridges CP, but I would take striker over thunder in say 2042 DM. In the long term you'll probably like to have both.

I agree Willie. I refer to mission bonuses when I say that you will be getting fewer supplies. But I suppose it is the weekly bonus that is most relevant to us here.
-
Yes, from the price I doubt getting free supplies from missions will be sustainable (we will see). In addition, we should not forget that what we get in batteries, we get less of in other supplies. I suspect we will in effect, be "forced" to buy to remain competitive in this game. Tanki is already expensive enough to play and this is not what we need.

Regarding the conversion (my speculation): I guess there are two possible ways the conversion can happen - either the new modules will take the highest protection from the current modules we own, or alternatively the crystal value of our current protections is summed and distributed evenly across the new modules. The phrasing makes me want to say that the latter is more likely "they will be converted and what is left over will go to batteries" - what is left over seems to imply that there is a calculatable value in the conversion. I.e. your modules will be given a value, and this can only be based on how much they cost. Let's call the valuing of your modules in crystals the primary conversion and the valuing of those crystals into the new modules the secondary conversion. The next question is then how do they value your modules? It makes most sense to take the full value of the current modules and steps we own. And the conversion will be into the full price value and steps of the new modules coming out. Whether speedups are taken into account is not relevant, since they will be taken into account into both the primary and secondary steps of the conversion. This, to me makes the most sense and is the fairest way of converting, since it means that players won't be losing out if they have multiple protections from the same turret. But we will see - anything can happen with Tanki. But this seems to be the cleanest, and fairest way of doing it. An illustrated example in case my explanation was confusing: I own two triple modules: fire freeze and isida, as well as fire freeze and twins. Both fully microupgraded. Case 1) I receive fire, freeze, isida and twins 50% new modules. The duplicate fire and freeze protections are cashed in for batteries. Not only is this conversion going to be silly (since each % point of protection costs a different amount of crystals - the cost of upgrading from 49 to 50% is greater than 48 to 49%) but I lose out to someone who has spent the same amount of crystals, but bought non-overlapping modules. Case 2) These modules are converted into a crystal value, full price. This is then split across the new modules evenly (the only fair way) across all 11 protections. Seems more likely. But, this is the important thing. Whichever way it is, it seems to always be worth it to buy some single modules this sale. Regarding batteries: Since some trigger automatically, it should not be in a drop box. Since it is a supply, they will likely put it into mission chains.

Guys forget arguing on here. What is the point? As ThirdOnion said, this update won't be revoked, regardless of what's expressed here - clear from Tanki's track record but player feedback means little in this game. In that case, are you arguing to prove a point, or what? This is why I don't post nearly as passionately on here anymore - it makes little difference, so what's the point? On a separate note: Clearly this thread has devolved into a platform for opinions to be expressed, into one where it is about debating whether MM will be good for the game. There is no answer - different players will like it others won't. Don't be that one arrogant person who is convinced your point of view is objectively correct. You don't belong on here. Eloquence or "smartness" means little on here. What matters is respect - respecting other's opinions. Not necessarily agreeing but respecting and empathising. Players have a right to complain; equally, players have a right to say on here they think the update is great - if you don't agree with it, leave it!
-
Yes, that is the only variable that we really have no grounds to predict! A more expensive system would make more sense to me also - if they were the same price as current triple modules they seem too accessible.
-
It's not a question of what it will or won't do. As I say, we are in no position to make conclusions. But as I say, if it were me rolling out an update, I'd probably put an unpopular one just before the sale. Makes most sense to me! Good move by Tanki if that is what they did. No one is saying your point of view is unjustified, but do correct me if I am wrong. Those on here are complaining to Tanki in the hope that they might notice and, for once, act on it. You are confusing disagreement with being unempathetic. Let's agree to disagree on this update, that's perfectly fine! - but when someone points out how they feel or what their perspective is, must you call them out on it? Sure. I actually am beginning to agree with you on this - I don't mind the change. But as always, the point is that you must respect the opinions of others too. We can debate all day on whether we think MM is a good idea, but we will not be debating fact, but perspective. And perspectives differ, that's life. If a differing perspective is enough to annoy you, that will pose a problem for you down the line. As I said, it's a matter of expressing views on here. If you don't like what you see, it's not always your place to call them out on it.

Spurger's thoughts are echoed by many of us who play and even more of us who have quit because of the track record Tanki has. Having been around for a long time, it would not surprise me that Tanki decided to release this unpopular update before the biggest sale of the year. They could be connected, they could not be. It's naïve to say matter-of-factly either way. But they are a business and wouldn't it make sense to do so? On a separate note, this is not the first time I have seen you comment passive-aggressively on the thoughts raised, not just here but on recent v-logs also. Bear in mind that many are really upset by these updates and try to see from their point of view also - it is no exaggeration that Tanki has misled many and let those down who have invested most in the game. Don't be surprised to receive blunt words back. Don't do the developers' apologetic work for them. Just my thought - I have no interest in this and won't be following this topic anymore.
-
Sad times. But if you are for real you're very welcome to play with me and my friends!
-
My apologies, I stand corrected
-
Double funds will double gold drop rate. The bonus crystals from double golds is absolutely miniscule - double funds is much much better!
-
Generous, though I wonder how the new modules will be converted. Will they convert protections - or based on the value of your modules? An indication soon before the samle would be nice.

I won't lose out so much with this update but there will be many who will be furious. Updates like these aren't new and really make you lose trust in the game. How can one invest in this game? Garages aren't weakened for anyone but there is real-worth loss and players who spent so much lose their advantage. Batteries is hardly compensation - its a supply! "You don't lose out" - oh but you do, as that advantage is stripped away. Are you sure M4 players don't lose out if everyone else gets M4 for free? "It's more compensation than we expected!" - hardly the point. Giving out free supplies is a slap in the face. "Tanki are doing it for balance" - in which case you accepting the fact that Tanki have misled their players by allowing them to invest in items that will later become redundant. Business doesn't work like that - you don't sell items to one group of people only to subsequently give them out for free. "The game economy will crash" - are you sure you have thought this through? I don't think you can really call there being an economy - players don't buy or sell with each other. Tell me, what difference will it make to the rest of the players if those crystals were refunded? After all, they were all bought there in the first place! The simple reason is more likely to be that these players will be buying less crystals soon. Plenty of reasons for why Tanki might be doing this change, including for profit, but none are real justification. And as always, its the loyal customers that lose out most. Tanki IS going downhill - numbers are constantly declining and it is noticable in-game. The game is becoming more and more expensive to play. May be a component of natural decline as with any game but I know many (including myself) who are being driven off because of a lack of care for us players from the development team. It is a shame to come back to see this. Feeling very let down.
