Review [Special] A Test in Review: The Matchmaking System
anuclearbomb replied to Yisroel.Rabin in Newspaper Archive
1. Ummm, I think I can be, because I am. We were promised some very nice things with the Clan system... Like more than 12 people were to be allowed in one... That's not a thing... What about alterations? Where did they go? How about they work on that instead of this? Or actually fix some bugs in the game... That'd be nice. 2. Yes, yes it does. You do not get rewarded for hosting battles for your friends, and especially not when they remove the fund from private battles. If I play with my friends all the time, and someone else focuses on doing their missions all the time, and we come into a battle... Who is going to have better equipment? 3. Some of us do, in fact have more than 4 friends. And would like to join battles with said friends. -

Well, you see... There are these things called other, better, games, which are far nicer to players with friends and even encourage people to make new ones... I may just go to one of them instead. Also that is a horrible attitude. Like seriously. Also... Why? What purpose does the matchmaking system serve? How can we trust the Devs to make this system work if they can't give you 10xp per kill in DM? (Seriously, it's not that hard.) Who says they will do anything with it anyway? Remember the Clan system? So far all I have gotten from that is a bunch of people asking me to join the clan... Mmmm worth it. -
It's like a conspiracy theory where like the government is lizards or something... Only it's probably true...

What's good?

I do, I always do it's my hard mode, it also gives people who need help more help. That's legitimately impressive, I however, play on CPs and other team battles because DMs are boring and easy. Capping a point in a polygon CP with hornet is hard enough. Because I am competent.
-
Not when they get replaced by 3rd Lts, Which has happened consistently for me.
-
On a highways? I play withe legends all the time. I play with legends in other maps like lost temple too. You see, once I get into a polygon or something smaller, I'm not going to win against m4 titans. However against m3 titans or similar I stand a chance. I play with shaft hornet, I am a target because people hate me.

I can't like your post... I want to like your post.... I like your post.

Alright, now imagine if the game randomly selected a mode for you, be it hard or easy. And no, the point is fun, however, I don't take enjoyment out of being spawn killed by m4 magnums and m4 thunders.
-
But would you trust the devs?
-
Grow up. Also I would love to fight you in a game, because you seem like someone who really needs to be shown that even skilled people don't want to fight a battle that their is no way of them winning.

Now I'm going to defend BlackWasp here because he did something that I have never seen a mod actually do on this thread; He tried the MM system with two of his accs and gave us his thoughts. So you have to give him credit for that. Had you said like Viking or that other pressie they had "Moderating" this chat I would have agreed with you. (Although Viking wasn't as bad as that first pressie they got...) The moderators however are doing an... Alright... Ish... Job. (No hard feelings guys, you are cool and all.)

Now I may be steering a bit off course with this, however... Before they made missions only completable in non-pro battles, there was massive diversity in maps. I remember playing several amazing matches in Monte Carlo, (A map that we both seem to like) and they were always fun and challenging. Now I understand why they made that change, but it was really what killed the map variety. Battles became tedious and more like chores as apposed to fun and light hearted. This lead to people just doing their missions and logging off. Which killed any fun pro battles too. This matchmaking system is just going to increase the feel that this game is more like a chore than like a fun game that can be challenging.

And when people who didn't buy get forced into the same situation? What say ye now? "Oh just some civilian casualties, no biggie." I have never spent a cent on this game, everything I have I earned, and I like to be at the top of the rank bracket because then I can use my equipment to it's full potential. Does that make me a coward? No more than it makes a legend a coward for joining a battle where he is the highest rank.
