Full disclosure: I didn't read too far back in this thread, so apologies if any of these points are duplicated: As a long-time primary shaft user in Tanki, I'm not a fan of the laser site. Is it great for aiming? Absolutely, but I don't like that it gives up my position. Sniping from a hiding spot was, and still is my primary MO. I've adjusted my strategy so that the beam isn't visible to others very far in front of me, but I have to react quickly when a target comes into view. I think a nice offsetting balance would be to have the option to turn off the laser site & have the "wobble" return while in scope mode as a penalty.

As far as names go, I think a subliminal connection to real and/or Hollywood versions of it would be cool: Vulcan Phalanx (these first two are the US Navy's names for the anti-missile battery) Spitfire (mentioned earlier in this thread) Warthog Apache (both 4 & 5 use a gatting gun, ironically for tank killing!) Predator (my favorite, so far) And I'll get silly & offer up "Ventura" for the actor who wielded it in #6 titled movie

Building off what Posy replied with, I would recommend buying the Firebird, then save 9000 crystal for the Starter XL kit. That way you can experiment with almost all the Turrets & each of the Hull tiers to see what gameplay. It will take patience, but you'll save a TON of crystal cost going that route (versus buying 1 at a time, which I did, stupidly...)

You make an excellent point here. Because we hide in the weeds with slow hulls (so we can absorb multiple hits), running for any drops (not just crystals) is not part of our game, lest we give away our hidden position!

Good question. I'm loving the M1 hull & turret kits (yes, I bought crystals) - allowed me to experiment with a variety of combos. I'd like to see an M2 turret kit to go with hull kit, or at least make the heavy/med/light kits have different equip than the existing hull kit. No point to buying it if it has the same.

Sorry, meant for TDM. Don't play much CTF with my Titan/Shaft combo!

Semi-noob question: why is it someone with equal # of deaths, but a ton more losses gets more points than me? i.e. They're 20/15 D/L and I'm 20/2, but get ranked much lower?

I was sniping in Serpuhov last night, and got hit by someone/something from the other side of map. No big deal, I'm sitting pretty in my Titan hull. Then I noticed this "electrical" visual effect rippling over my tank (with accompanying sound effect). What the heck was it? I've been playing for a few weeks, but this was completely new.

Hello all. I bit the bullet & bought some crystals. Just too impatient to collect/earn them via my 1-2 hrs of playtime each day. Bought the turret & hull M1 kits. Mega-savings vs buying them 1 at a time. Plus it gives you plenty of play-style options with the variety at your disposal. Been playing Highland & Sepurhov with M1 Shaft & Titan and LOVING IT !!! Previously had been playing Firebird/Freeze with Hornet. It was fun mixing it up on the front lines, but got a bit repetetive after a while. Plus getting one-hit by rails & other turrets was very frustrating. Now with my shaft, I'm the one doing the one-hitters! I'm actually chuckling to myself with every kill shot. It's great when you catch guys flying up ramps in mid-air with light hulls and release the trigger. KA-BLOOEY!!! When in Sniper-mode, mines are your friends (to cover your backside)! Also nice to have an Isida teammate come visit you every now & again... Or have a railer nearby, as you have blinders on looking through the scope, so you don't see enemies approaching.
