    How good is striker?

I repeat my previous observations on Striker. Interval between single shots is too long. Lock on time is too long. Your tank is a sitting target. The turret traverse is too slow. I believe Striker is supposed to be an unmanned robotic turret. Robotic turrets traverse, acquire their target, and fire a lot faster than conventional turrets. The turret is too wide, and your tank is too exposed to ensure nothing fouls up a launch. I am still of the opinion that Striker is at a disadvantage in close up encounters, and needs some sort of short range secondary weapon. See my initial comments and suggestions.

Changes to Striker and a cool new format

I have put a couple of posts on the Forum, under the "How Good Is Striker" section. They are my own opinion of Striker, after using it quite a few times. Based on my experience with Striker, I made some suggestions for modifications and improvements. Take a look, and post your opinion about them.

    How good is striker?

After using Striker quite a few times since my last post, and the update, I still believe the lock on time for Striker needs to be greatly reduced. As things are at present, your tank is a virtual sitting target while you attempt to achieve lock on. I would also suggest that some type of gyro stabiliser is added to the turret, so that even if your tank is being bounced around by non fatal hits, the lock holds on the target.

    How good is striker?

I have tried Striker on different hulls, in different battle modes and on different maps, with varying results. I have got kills at long range with single missles. I have hit tanks at medium range after a lock on with a volley of four missiles to no effect. In DM mode on the Iran map, I got a lock onto the scramble for the Gold Box, and took out four with the volley. My opinion is that the interval between single shots is too long. Striker is using pre loaded tubes, so the next shot should be availiabe as soon is the first is fired, with the reload sequence commencing when the third missile is fired. With practice, it would be possible to continually launch single missiles. It would help too. if the launcher was narrower, and the missles launched closer to the centreline of the turret. Too much of your tank is exposed to ensure the tubes are clear of obstacles. The lock on time is too long. I have only found the rare occasion when I had long enough to launch a salvo. Both from my own experience, and watching other Striker users, this turret is at a disadvantage in close up encounters. I have ended up more often as cannon fodder than getting a kill. I would suggest considering a short range backup. A small calibre autocannon firing armour piercing rounds which would only activate if an enemy was within a certain range. I am not a fan of the laser, either on this turret or Shaft. Why attempt to get a position of advantage, then advertise it by shining a searchlight? My concession to the laser would be the allow Striker to lock onto a laser, either on another Striker or Shaft, and then launch a salvo in a fire and forget mode from any angle. Other players may agree with some of this or none if it. Either way, let's have your opinions.

    Ideas for Missions!

As the reward for completing a long term daily mission, I received a Viking XT M3. I already have a Viking M3 with full micro upgrades. What are the possibilities of getting a full set of micro upgrades as another long term daily mission? On the subject of daily missions. would it be an idea to include on the screen a daily and weekly progress report? I can keep track of the seven days over which I am completing the missions, but sometimes forget which week of a four week cycle I am in. On the subject of micro upgrades, I find it seems to take forever to complete them. If a player is prepared to spend the crystals, how about offering an all in one price for the full upgrade, and complete it over a much shorter time?

Tanki X — Nickname reservation issues

I e-mailed Tanki Support quite a few times, asking them to verify my address. I included my nickname and full e-mail address. Eventually Tanki Support informed me that my e-mail address had been verified. I tried the Special Site again, and my nickname was acceped without a problem. I had been trying for several days prior to this, and getting nowhere.

Tanki X — Nickname reservation issues

Success at last!!!! Sent another e-mail to Tanki Support, asking about the situation. Got a reply almost immediately. They had verified my e-mail address. Try again. Went into the Special Site. Completed everything exactly as before. Got my reservation and code. So keep trying Tankers.

Tanki X — Nickname reservation issues

Has anyone come up with a solution to the problems with the Special Site? Tanki support have not come up with anything new.

Tanki X — Nickname reservation issues

Thanks for the video post. I have however, tried everything in the video quite a few times already, without success. Tanki have e-mailed me a link by which they were able to confirm my account details. I purchased crystals, and received an e-mail acknowledgement from Tanki. This included my nickname, so my e-mail address and nickname are somewhere in the Tanki database. The Special Site is not connecting with this.

Tanki X — Nickname reservation issues

I have e-mailed Tanki Support a number of times, without getting a solution to the problem. I have tried all the suggestions without success. I have however, proved that my e-mail address is linked to my nickname, and registered with Tanki. There appears to be a missing link between Tanki's database of registered players, and the database being compiled for the Special Site.

Tanki X — Nickname reservation issues

I have already tried all of the above, plus a lot of other things. The special site is still requesting an email adddress, and will not allow me to register.

Tanki X — Nickname reservation issues

In common with a lot of other players, I have found it impossible to reserve my nickname for Tanki X. The special site keeps asking for my email address, although this has been registered from way back. Could I suggest that a link is posted on the game, where players can re-register their email address, and in turn, ensure that this is properly linked to the special site, so that everything is joined up. Anybody agree with this suggestion? I hope too, that this situation is not a prelude to what may happen when players attempt to transfer their accounts once Tanki X gets under way properly.

Wishing the Best to those who are leaving

With reference to older players, I would class myself as an older player, a very much older player. I enjoy playing (most of the time), because the format is a level playing field. My "skill and experience" in a battle, my tank against other tanks. Age and physical ability are not a factor.
  14. I most definitely agree. You may have read the comments I posted about smart cooldowns over the past few days. I have noticed that in some games, players are spending more time scrabbling around trying to grab supplies, than actually fighting. I have seen them race past multiple drops of crystals to grab a supply box instead. On the subject of supply boxes, and the time these last, I have scooped up triple boxes of double power and double armour, but they run for little longer than the time for a single box. Take one and leave the others? How do you do that, when the boxes are overlapping? As I stated in one of my earlier posts. Far from improving tactics, smart cooldowns has reduced them to nothing better than chance.
