    Stories & Poems

Tanki Online is a fun game, nobody can deny it, but do you ever get tired of it? That "Kill, die, kill die, kill die" kinda gets old? There has to be more of a meaning! More of a story! I have taken various parts of Tanki Online from map names to paint descriptions and I have come up with a fictional story that explains why everything is the way it is! I know it is incredibly long, but take the time to read it, you might enjoy it! Note: This story talks about possibly sensitive topics such as the cold war. I do not mean to offend anyone, I just wanted to tell a harmless story to give the game some more meaning. Part 1: Global Tension The year is 2078. The worlds oil supply ran out about 50 years ago. Then began the great power crisis. Automobiles, electricity, and countless other systems that rely on oil have failed. The world struggled to get by for several years until they have finally converted 80% of worldwide electrical production to Nuclear Power. Accidents were rare with these new nuclear plants due to numerous new safety mechanisms and requirements. Years passed without much changing. Inventions and discoveries came and went. Since the cold war, numerous American scientists have been working on an idea for a new weapon. The idea arose in 1968 and finally with the new technology in the field of nano bots, the Isida weapon was created. This weapon was to revolutionize the battlefield. In previous small conflicts, weapons codenamed smoky, firebird, and twins were used often. In 2021 the Railgun weapon was invented by the Chinese and sold worldwide. This weapon used depleted uranium in its shells. The Railgun did not become popular until the great power crisis ended, nuclear plants created plenty of spent uranium rods to make ammunition for the Railguns. These guns were fitted on tanks and commonly ruled the battlefield being considered the best gun in history. Now Isida has appeared and changed that forever. In 2071, a massive amount of oil was found in southeast Africa. Nations around the world desperately tried to claim the land and take the black gold. Camps of men from every country you could imagine dotted the landscape. Everyone was searching for the valuable oil. Soon small conflicts broke out. Russia, who owned 2/3 of the oil camps began to have issues with India, who owned about 10% of the oil camps. It wasn't long until conflict broke out. Russian tanks were used to cold climates and most had a new paint called Irbis. This paint did not give good camouflage in the fields and deserts of Africa. The Indians used a new paint called Lava. This paint did not provide outstanding camouflage, but it was enough to help them defeat the Russians. Railguns and Isidas were the only weapons used on the battlefield. Thanks to numerous advancements in tank armor, the tanks could not be hurt by enemy aircraft for either side. The aircraft simply dropped supply boxes onto the battlefield to assist their allies. India pushed Russia to North Africa. It was at this point the Russians hit back. After finding a strange device in a desolate village, the Russians were able to build a "Freeze Thrower" weapon. This weapon was unable to defeat the relentless Indians. Their Lava paint made the weapon nearly useless. The Chinese reacted to the conflict by declaring neutrality and preparing to make a fortune by selling weapons, hulls, and paints to all of the warring nations. Part 2: The conflict escalates The Russians quickly upgraded their camo. They quickly developed a paint they dubbed, "Orange". This paint did not create good camouflage in the desert, but Russian scientists were not skilled in creating desert paints. India soon became greedy and attacked an American oil camp by mistake. America quickly declared war and allied with Russia. They revealed their new weapon codenamed "Thunder". This weapon was an upgraded version of Smoky that could destroy multiple tanks in a single shot! Russia was commonly crossing rivers as they were pushed into Northern Africa by the Indians. America had a secret lab codenamed "Aqua". From this lab they created two new paints that they supplied to the Russians to use to take advantage of the rivers they were crossing. They created the paint called "Blue", which was previously used for a amphibious tank project called Sheatfish. They also supplied the paint Swash, straight from the Aqua labs. Together Russia and America pushed back and pushed the Indians off of Africa entirely. The continent was claimed by both nations. It wasn't long until fights broke out between Russia and America over who would own what. To help in the new conflict against the American gun "Thunder", Russian scientists finally finished a project long in the making, the Ricochet project! This new weapon allowed the Russians to destroy enemy tanks they couldn't even see! Russia was beginning to be pushed back by the Americans and quickly developed a new idea. They sent out tanks to countries in Europe and Asia with their normal coat, Hohloma. These tanks however, secretly had a crew inside! When they arrived via train the tanks drove off and attacked the very crews that unpacked them! Some of these tanks had a mysterious paint called Alien. Nobody, including Russia, is sure of it's origins, but many believe they may have been…. extraterrestrial. Russia quickly took over much of Northern Asia and Europe. Meanwhile, Italian scientists created a new weapon! Italy was not yet taken over by Russia, so they hoped selling the weapon design to Russia would spare their country. The weapon was originally designed to make pizzas, but it was soon discovered that it had a scope, and a trigger, and a barrel. The gun was named Shaft and was sold both to Russia and the United States. The United States was running low on resources and the decision was made to move into Mexico and attack Central and South America. In the swamps of South America, many tankers developed their own paint coats. Two of which became quite famous and used often. The coats were called Swamp and Clay. Clay had quite an interesting story about leeches, you should look at it's description on Tanki for the full story. Part 3: Chinese Expansion China was becoming a huge part of the conflict. They had invaded much of South Asia and created numerous new inventions which they sold to the Russians and Americans. They created the paints Loam, Inferno, and Python! They even created the idea of using a black paint for stealthy night attacks. They also created the hull that is known today as Mammoth! China soon took over India and Japan. Japan had been working on a new paint from the design of digital paint. They created a new paint called Prodigi. This was also sold to the warring nations, making China the richest country in the world. Part 4: Conclusion The United States broke their treaty with Italy and invaded. They came up through Italy and moved north east towards Russia. As they entered colder climates, the United States did not have any good winter camo so they created the plain white paint as a temporary winter camo. It was eventually replaced with the camo called "Winter". Numerous cities around Europe and Russia were under siege. To this day the war continues at a bloody stalemate. Cities such as Dusseldorf, Berlin, Chernobyl, Serpuhov, Kolhoz, and many others are still being constantly fought over. Many have gone back to the Cold War ideal of calling the Russians "reds" or the "red team" and many now call America the "blue team". Sometimes China gets involved to cause more trouble and therefore make more money. They make battles all out death matches. They confuse enemies to the point that they believe everyone is an enemy and it becomes every man for himself. That is the story of how the world got the way it is. Now get into your tank, get out there, and fight for your side! Change the course of this war before it destroys us all!

    Which turret/hull combo is best?

Monton, you have already made a mistake. To be efficient at tanki, you should NOT buy everything. That was a big mistake. You should find one combo of tank and weapon that you are happy with and buy and upgrade only those. Nothing else. My main account is 2nd Lieutenant and I still haven't bought M0 Dictator, Titan, Ricochet, or twins! I suggest you find a favorite combo and stick with only that. Now on to your question about which combo is best. Tanki has been designed so that no combo is way better than any other. However, there are a few combos that I suggest you do not use: Shaft+Wasp- Shaft is a sniping and camping weapon while Wasp is a quick, agile, attacking hull, the two simply do not mix. Shaft+Hornet- Same as above Isida+Titan- Isida is a very short range weapon that requires you to catch up to fast enemies and circle around them as you attack, Titan does not have the speed for such maneuvers. Isida+Mammoth- Same as above Firebird+Titan- This is a personal belief, I do not enjoy using close range weapons with slow heavy hulls, however some people are able to do it very well. Examples of short range- heavy hull combos are Isida, Firebird, or Freeze with Titan or Mammoth. My personal favorite combos. These are my favorite combos that usually allow you to dominate the battlefield if played well: Viking-Railgun Viking-Ricochet Hornet-Ricochet Hornet-Isida Hornet-Freeze Mammoth-Shaft Wasp-Isida Other famous and notable combos: "Mosquito" Railgun-Wasp Titan- Shaft Hornet-Firebird Viking-Thunder Take your pick or find your own combo! It all depends on what you are best at and what you enjoy doing in battle! Good luck! Also, you are supposed to ask these questions in this topic: http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=180349

    Guide to Ricochet!

Ricochet: Intro: This gun has been hiding in the shadows for quite some time. It has been deemed "useless" and "Only for parkour" by numerous people, but with the recent update, this gun has become more and more popular, and it should! This gun is the only one in Tanki Online that lets you shoot tanks which you can't even see! This, combined with adequate range, medium/high damage, and it's loathed impact force, make this weapon one that can easily control the entire battlefield! Description: Ricochet plasma gun is a new secret project of Siberian scientists. To produce this gun, a team of 22 high-class professionals have been working in the underground bunker more than three years without permission to exit on the surface. And they have created a unique weapon. It throws plasma charges cloaked with clever minus-field. When such charge hits the tank it explodes, but it bounces off any other surface. So with Ricochet you can hit targets out of your visibility range. But be careful! Do not stand in the way of a released charge, as you can do damage to yourself! Pros: Good Damage Ability to bounce shots Easy self destruct Effective impact force Cons: Limited range Accidental self damage Gun needs to recharge M0 M1 M2 M3 Damage 15.8 - 20.2 18.6 - 23.5 22.5 - 28.0 28.6 - 35.1 Range 72.9 75.9 80.0 86.5 Reload Time 0.600 0.579 0.550 0.504 Rotation Speed 74.3 85.6 101.4 126.3 Impact Force 156 169 190 222 Upgrade Price 1900 24,300 89,200 252,100 Total Price 1900 26,200 115,400 367,500 Protective Paints: Here is a quick list of all the paints that protect from ricochet, beware these on the battlefield! Moonwalker 22% Dragon 22% In Love 5% Desert 28% Spark 33% Hohloma 20% Loam 10% Urban 5% Savanna 15% Irbis 16% Taiga 20% Needle 20% Clay 50% Suggested Hulls: Ricochet is a surprisingly adaptable weapon. It can be used on every hull in Tanki Online effectively. Ultimately it all comes down to which hulls you prefer, what kind of games you take part in, and your overall combat style. Wasp: Wasp is the fastest hull in the game, but is very unstable. While some are able to adapt to this hull and fight effectively with it, most can not. The gun moves the tank around a lot as it shoots and can even flip it over with the right circumstances. Ricochet is a gun where every single last shot counts. If your tank is rocking around due to you taking hits or shooting, it can cause your death! It doesn't take much to move wasp, and Ricochet does it rather well. Hornet: Hornet is widely seen as the best hull in the game. It is also arguably the most popular, but is Ricochet a good combination with it? While the hull is a bit unstable like Wasp, it is stable enough for one to move and shoot accurately in most situations. If one were sitting still and shooting at a 45-90 degree angle to their side, it may move the tank a bit, but not enough to cause major problems. This combo will take practice to master, but it usually is worth it. Hunter: Hunter is not a popular hull in Tanki Online, but it could be considered by some one of the best combos for Ricochet! For those of you who like dominating your enemies in small quick tanks, this may still be a good combo to you! Hunter is slower than Hornet, but faster than viking! It has great stability and is suitable with every weapon in the game. The weight and stability allow you to shoot without a problem as far as your tank's movement is concerned, it has average hit points which is always good, and although not a race car, it is the third fastest tank in the game! Viking: Viking is another great hull for Ricochet! It has it's famous low profile which gives it stability. It's armor is plenty strong and it has adequate speed. This tank should have no stability problems with Ricochet. It is fast enough to get you where you are going and has the armor to get you there safely. Dictator: Once considered the best hull in the game, Dictator has become less common. It does not have the best stability and therefore Viking is commonly picked over Dictator. They have similar speeds and armor. Viking is faster. At M0 and M2, Viking has more armor than Dictator. At M1 and M3 however, Dictator trumps Viking in armor. At M3 Dictator has about 40 hit points on viking! That can make a big difference! Titan: The lumbering Titan! Little brother to the Mammoth! A slow moving hull that isn't easily knocked around yet rendered helpless when attacked by a freeze. Ricochet can be used with Titan, however it is best suited as a sniper hull. Titan M2 is considered by many to be better than M2 Mammoth, however M2 Titan isn't available until 2 ranks after M2 Mammoth. Titan is a slow, powerful hull that can fare better than a Mammoth in many situations, you just need to be skilled using it. Mammoth: Mammoth is a huge hull, no doubt, and it fits well with Ricochet. Mammoth, like Titan and Viking, is barely moved by shell impact or your gun's recoil. This is great for Ricochet users. Mammoth is a good hull for camping and one can effectively camp with Ricochet and Mammoth. This task is sometimes hard due to Ricochet's limited range and easily traceable projectiles. Mammoth has higher hit points than any other hull in Tanki Online and Ricochet is one of the most damaging long range weapons in Tanki. Together they can be a combo that changes entire battles. Tips and Suggestions: Now, you may expect a perfect and inspiring section in which I tell you exactly what to do with this weapon and it will carry you to victory in every battle and in every situation. In reality, I am not very experienced with this weapon at all! I have only used it heavily for about three or four days! So if you expect me to spoon feed a magic tactic that will make you win every battle, then I suggest you stop reading right now. If you are new to the weapon or you are a veteran who wants a refresher on this weapon as it gains popularity, keep reading! Try to hit enemies with Ricochets! Hit enemies who cannot see you and therefore cannot shoot you! Stuck in a tight spot and you are about to die? Shoot into the nearest wall and quickly self destruct, denying your attacker their kill! Attempt to hit tanks on their left or right sides, not the middle, this will knock them around and make aiming harder! Try to shoot with your turret facing forward or backwards, shooting to the side at a near 90 degree angle can cause your tank to rock and be unstable on lighter hulls, which can make aiming difficult. You can shoot into the ground when on your side in a light hull to right yourself! Make sure you "lead" moving targets! Don't shoot where they are, shoot where they are going as Ricochet's bullets move slowly. Turn on sound when using this weapon so you can hear when you have a hit! If you are moving cautiously, try shooting around blind corners to see if there are any tanks around them! Cliff faces are slanted and therefore you cannot effectively bounce plasma off of them to hit a target. Ricochet is an excellent weapon for moving your tank around while it is falling! Get creative and do a trick! Like the guide, but have an idea or suggestion to make it better? Got an extra tip for newbies? Leave it as a reply and I will add it! Thanks for reading! -Curveball15 (AKA Rottin)

What to buy? Which is better?

I use hornet and twins and freeze interchangeably with green paint. What should I upgrade first? Should I wait for m1 hornet or get m1 freeze when its available or should I hold off on both and save for m1 twins? Can you give me the 3 in the order I should purchase them and perhaps give me a paint suggestion?
