[Issue 41] The Ultimate Guide to Hammer

Rather depressing...... but Great Advice! Now I'm seriously considering whether to buy Hammer...
  2. (Picture 1) For years past, many a tank hath wondered what lies beyond the tiny world of the Map, what strange land lay behind the seemingly impenetrable Self Destruct Mechanism. And yet, for the first time in this land, a single, brave adventurer, a Wasp by the name of Darren4Turbo, has finally passed the veil. Recording his dive into the unknown is his trusty sidekick Supratikbora. Here is a record of their conversation: Supratikbora: Farewell on your historic dive! Darren4Turbo: I now head forth! (4 Hours of Continuous Falling Later) Supratikbora: …….Are you there yet? Darren4Turbo: (Very Distantly Echoing) No, Stop Asking! Word Count: 100
  3. Heh. My story was going to be 400 words longer until I found out about that word limit.
  4. Moribund Land Taking place in an alternate USSR where Gorbachev fell and the Soviet Union lived on, this story occurs at the end of the 21st century, taking place 2 decades after a Third World War which kills 6.8 billion people in a final, horrendous nuclear holocaust. Uri sat down heavily on a rusted tire. Shielding his eyes with a gloved hand, he raised his scarred face towards the too-bright Sun as it burnt with a deadly brightness upon his mask. Leaning against a bent lamppost, he carefully placed a tattered Pravda newspaper that dated from 2079 and adjusted it over his head, closing his eyes as the paper provided welcome solace from the unremitting blaze. He slept for hours. The sun continued upon its blinding arc across the sky, slowly approaching its zenith. He abruptly stood up and began to limp in a circle, observing the twisted and radioactive landscape that he recalled in a distant memory as “Omsk”. He dusted off his tattered military uniform, adjusting the scratched plates of armor that he had scavenged in the desperate years of the 2080s. He leaned over and picked up his trusty but dented plasma rifle, furrowing his brow at the words “manufactured in the USSR, 2077”. He loaded a gently glowing clip into its interior and switched off the safety, and began to mutter little facts to himself, keeping himself distracted as he slowly began to pick through the thousands of mines, weapons, and desiccated corpses that littered the terrain. “Today is May or July 13th, 2098. Hard-liners took Gorbachev. The War occurred 20 years ago. I am one of maybe a dozen million in all of Russia that survived. If I take off this mask, the UV will destroy my eyes. I go to the Arena at noon. Right now is 11:32 AM. I will go--” “Hey! Uri!” Uri heard a distant figure shout. He whipped around, rifle at the ready. In a fierce and low tone gained from years of survival, Uri grunted, “Don’t move! Surrender your weapon,” aiming the weapon straight at the figure. The figure nervously raised two hands, exclaiming “Hey, calm down! It’s me, Andrei.” Uri narrowed his eyes. “Code?” The figure made a resigned sigh, and said “244DE2067.” Uri slowly lowered his glowing weapon. “Andrei, what are you doing out here?” Andrei, shifting back and forth on a prosthetic leg said, “We are to report to the Arena right away. We have a new match and its a big one.” Uri silently nodded in assent and the pair began to walk across the debris-strewn field. Andrei suddenly spoke up. “Omsk was my home. I survived the nukes because I was on duty as a tank driver at the Fulda Gap. Interesting, how it was easier to survive on the fronts than at home, eh Uri?” Andrei carefully removed a pair of binoculars from the skeleton of a long-dead Army officer that lay nearby, putting the dusty pair up to his goggles. “World War 3 encompassed all, Andrei. Such a thing could happen, would only happen.” Uri continued, “Andrei, hand those binocs over.” Andrei gave the cracked but still useful pair, which Uri promptly threw away as far as possible. “‘Tis unlucky to take from the dead, Andrei. I thought you knew that.” Grimacing at Uri, Andrei said, “You should know I found the town, Uri. Anyway, we must take what we can from these fields to survive. Let’s go now, Uri.” The two walked onward. Word Count: 582

New turret already in the game!

For a little while Hammer's gonna be REALLY powerful since there are no protection paints against it that have been implemented yet. In my personal opinion Hammer's functionality resembles Thunder a -bit- too much...
