what the heck happened to the servers??
-
Thanks, Ninja, that worked!

Hi, I can play in browser, but not client for about 20 hours now. I can click the "Play" button on the client, then the progress bar stalls at around 95% and never fully loads. I can see in my resource manager that there's no data being transferred. Any suggestions? Thanks Edit: fyi, i uninstalled and reinstalled the client twice.

ok, so right now the MM isn't even working at all, nobody in the General 1 chat can get into a game
-
Me too. I was thinking tanki would announce MM would be pulled so they can fix "bugs" as an excuse
-
Sorry to be picky, and this post might get deleted, but isn't "MM system" redundant? Isn't the "S" system?
-
So, so wrong. It's difficult to get into good games for the exact reason that as soon as someone leaves another joins. MM is patently NOT necessary to fix "runners". Battles don't always have to be 10v10. Back when tanki let us create our own games this was almost never a problem because players made games that players like. Tanki, however, in it's infinite wisdom, decided players should not create battles, presumably to solve some other kind of problem. Instead of this ridiculous MM crap bring back battle creation. Multing wouldn't be an issue if the /vote feature actually worked. Even so, I'll take all the "problems" you list over that stupid MM implementation any day. I don't understand why tanki can't understand that it takes a lot of fun away when we can't choose battle.

I believe he's talking about supplies having different power levels depending on ranks, less powerful for lower ranks, although I admit it's not very clear he means depending on rank, but I think that's what he's saying
-
W.O.T.'s MM system sucks. But tankis's try of MM sucked even more. But the group feature at least has some promise ... so long as we can still choose battles. EDIT: hey,Hexed, that's a critique of the MM update, not of you personally, so don't get your panties all in a wad

As said in the very 1st reply to this thread :-D
-
don't worry, most clans suck :P
-
this is a fact of life. no matter the system, MM or otherwise, some are smarter and/or will try harder, and will find every tiny loophole and trick that they can use to their advantage.

which one, the red or blue one?

It would also need to be tiny. So that it can sneak inbetween tanks and in and out of enemy territory quickly. Also it needs to be tiny so it's harder to hit with turrets, otherwise almost anything 1 or 1.5 shots it. Maybe like smart car or motorcycle size. -
Noooooo! DM teaming should NOT be encouraged, it should be eradicated!

maybe there could be a check-box option that we can uncheck above each of the 3 daily missions if we want to have it rewarded automatically? I like his idea b/c I do hurt my team a little by my compulsory reaction to the red "!" when mission completed, but u make a good point too. Maybe they could put such a check-box above each mission with default that we have to manually receive reward, and if we uncheck it then it'll auto reward. I'm afraid the problem with some players is they are simply doing everything they can to play without hitting shift; I think have a hard time hitting shift while simultaneously doing all the other commands. I, and a lot of higher ranks, can seamlessly drive backwards, turn turret, hit 1-5 keys for supplies and hit shift .... some simply don't seem to have this dexterity, even some legends. I've seen so many legends pause everything to simply hit shift or a 1-5 key

Well, to his credit, Viking4s has taken it a lot better than some other tanki staff. He's far from the worst ... :) I'll just leave it at that... I rarely come to forum, only did b/c of MM, I imagine it's the same for a lot of players that don't like MM, which could explain things like this. Maybe tanki can mentally prepare staff better to handle negative criticisms of the game, especially updates. I think some staff take it personally, aren't mentally equipped to distinguish between negative criticism of the game and negative criticism of themselves. And someone like that would certainly have a hard time understanding that when they get posts targeting them it's probably rooted in frustration with the game/update. Food for thought. I'll leave it to you to decide if you want to tell some tanki higher ups they might want to consider brief training for staff when periods of a lot of negative comments are expected (like after a major update) or just any avatar. all our avatars are ... naked

Thanks. But that's exactly what I was afraid of. TBH I'm not sure how frequently I'll play after the MM is in place. I know some tank staff like to be sarcastic and say things like "see you tomorrow", and maybe they're more right than wrong, i really don't know. But I can say I know one player that just gave up. He was middle rank, only 1 account, and played only b/c of me ... he gone, just couldn't understand the drastic change and didn't like it. From what I understand the MM will definitely be put in permanently. If that's the case I really agree with others that I can't understand how an organization can go ahead with something so unpopular with their users. I said before it seems tanki is fine with having only a small number of players so long as those are the ones who buy the most; since I'm not on the inside of tanki, it's not my place to question tanki's business model, and if that's the strategy I guess I just wish a parting best luck.

well, it is true. You do seem to troll a lot. If you're a tanki reporter, and you comment on all these threads, and you actually play (presumably), and you do whatever normal people do during the day (school/work) ... do you then have time for anything meaningful outside of tanki? :-)
-
It's already there. It's called the "Battle" button. I've never found it useful, other than creating games in empty servers, but for the players you describe, why can't they just use the button?
-
#1 needy much? :P #2 the tanki staff should act mature when players act childish. I've seen a lot of you do that. But the ones that act just as bad as the players that use bad language serve a big disservice to the game. you forgot to leave your apology before you go. you over and over insulted the intelligence of players you disagree with. still smh the 2nd mention was more about game mode. when i want to play a game mode i usually only want to play it on a small set of maps favorable for it. what are you talking about man? that's exactly how the game works now and i don't see this problem. Poor widdle devs, I thought they were smart, "trained programmers", who, by virtue of their programming prowess, know so much about the game -- despite not being players -- that they know better what players want then players themselves. Seriously though, I'm sure they're collectively clever enough. I'm beginning to wonder if you're a player yourself ... we already have this feature and I don't have the data that the devs have, but from my experience this is completely a non-issue. If it was as bad as you describe there'd already have been an update removing the ability to invite friends. Staffing (i.e. $$ redirected) the in-game "/vote" feature so that "voting" a player actually elicits a response would also solve mult/sabotage. But that's too easy, right? Instead we should dramatically alter the game with some very unpopular, sudden changes <_< With the MM system, yes, it most certainly was a problem. Joining instantly is much more favorable than completely losing all the things I listed in the post you replied to. "half-full" maps are rarely a problem for me. You noticed I'm a legend, right? I've played enough to know how to join games with the highest likelihood of being fun to me, you know -- even the half-full ones. Server load. Meeting friends for games and chat in lobby. Likelihood of the skill levels (note I didn't say rank) of players there -- if this one confuses you I bet some clever dev could pull some data for you, but this is even more true for the middle-ranks. Also the most prevalent ranks on the server; again, more meaningful for middle-to-upper ranks, since legends can only play against m3 ranks anyway. A middle-rank account is smart to go down a few servers where the most prevalent ranks on the server are those at the bottom of their rank's bracket. Q.E.D

you giving your (I'm sure uninformed and unauthorized) view of tanki's business model blindly hating ... flaming ... implying over and over people are either lazy or dumb just b/c u disagree with them trolling is appropriate here? ok just reply with your own previous flames u continue to characterize disagreement as ignorance or stupidity more flames and mis-characterization, not to mention a lack of will to empathize or try to understand the other side before arguing One could probably compile similar posts by other staff (unnamed for now) in this and other update threads. Is it that you don't read, or that you read but don't understand when players point out that you're the one arguing for the point of arguing, which players have indeed said to you in this thread. None of your posts above are a "discussion". The posts above are filled with flaming, argumentative rhetoric. There are player-to-player actual discussions in this thread where they disagree. And even some player-to-staff ones, too. But you, above all other helmeted-icon posters -- at least in this thread -- kept calling people haters and saying they're just flaming, and saying they're ignorant/stupid for not being smart enough to find subtitles (lazy tanki) or understand the video. But you are. When you call players that disagree with you "haters" and essentially call them stupid because, apparently in your view, they aren't blessed with the intellect needed to understand a tanki video, or understand that the MM system the other day was "only a test" -- then, then you are restricting feedback. Because you're putting down peoples' opinions, they you're essentially urging them to stop saying such things. If you don't realize that then you probably aren't equipped to be a publicly-commenting tanki staff. -
-
what are you even replying to? You don't even address his post. You and other staff are arguing over and over with players giving feedback that tanki specifically asked for. Nobody asked for tanki's business model.
-
Hi. I'm not sure how much of this thread you were able to read, I know it's long ... but, fyi, that doesn't solve a lot of the complaints about joining battles.
-
Somewhere above a mod/reporter/staff (don't care to find the post) said tanki devs are trained programmers and therefore know what changes should be made ... he couldn't be more wrong. It's always the users who actually use the thing (players, in this case) who have the better suggestions.
