The prices of paints now is the main reason. Who wants to spend 500K crystals on something only for looks?

I see Mods are banning people now, unfortunately that will only solve half the issue. The players are just going to come back angrier than ever. Only the Deves can stop it now, by lowering the prices.

Paints no long have protection, you need to buy the module's for protection now.

I 100% see and agree with your point, but there are better ways to do that. - More XT's would be a big one. - Now with this update some more paint designs? Maybe a contest can be held, us players submit entries and the best 10-20 get added? There's two and I'm sure others can think of more. There's a difference between giving people something to work for, and absolutely overpricing paints and making them only a buyers edition. If I a Colonel that wanted the Zeus paint, I wouldn't be happy.
