Paint choice inappropriate ~~ reverse choice + crystal refund?
r_scubatank0 replied to r_scubatank0 in Paint choice inappropriate ~~ reverse choice + crystal refund? Archive
I looked around in the forums, and researched online- couldn't find an answer to this. I trust I'm posting this in the correct section. Less than 24 hours ago - out of frustration, I spent 2000 hard earned crystals [i don't buy] on lead paint for my M1 Wasp. The 18% [or so] Shaft cushion did not achieve the desired preservation effects. Likely, the intrinsic durability of the hull [at least at the level mine is at] is so low that a full power hit from clear across the battlefield is still fatal....immediately after respawn, when I'm at full health. Also- having this paint actually reduced my average battlefield "lifespan" since the shade of green negates any camo effect that my tank had before [ an effect I didn't realize was so beneficial to me until it was no longer there] and I draw far more attention to myself now. So, I likely won't use the paint at all now. I would've been far better off spending those crystals elsewhere. Such as gun Range/Punch [to momentarily disrupt Shafts aim], or even handling characteristics to further potentiate the avoidance of such impacts. Amassing that many crystals takes me quite some time and effort. [i agree that mutting is wrong]. Can my poor choice can somehow be reversed? For what it's worth- I did try to become as informed as possible before making this choice. I do recognize that it was my decision, and the common response to my appeal might be that I should just knuckle down and live with it. I simply figured the paint would be more beneficial than spending on MU's, and would at least take some of the edge off my frustration of being constantly picked off from the farthest reaches of the field. I was 'dead' wrong. I realize that M1 Wasp is all but made of tissue paper, yet I appreciate the relative perks and enjoyment that come with the speed and handling. I can't afford to speed up a Hornet to levels which would make gameplay worthwhile for me. Any help, or non mean spirited response, would be well appreciated. Thanks for reading all this, and good luck! -

btw - would you please be so kind as to erase this thread entirely? It was simply a waste of both of our time. Having this laying around merely serves as testament to the rediculous notion that I might try to eventually contribute some sort of positive constructive difference. Nothing within could be useful to anyone. Thanks. Good luck. -

It's plain to see that you place zero value on suggestions I might offer. I've given this stuff a lot of thought, simply because I do enjoy spending time witht he game. And I'd like to see better programs with rewards for certain progressions.. if only to improve PR. The rediculous imbalances of unrealistic cartoon weaponry is one thing.. but the unsatisfatory way you govern gold boxes and "self destruction" is a further source of unecessary grief. My team loses a flag or a credit just becasue I flip my yank over with no one else around and I self destruyct? really? That is your developers brilliant idea for controlling a few people losing a kill? I can think of far better alternatives which don't involve the entire team.. way to go. I see images of your developers sitting there in deep thought.. it seems they're aren't thinking very hard about the game. Maybe they just are very short sighted? More often than not-- the battlefield just a ttranwreck, with little potential for developement of any actual strategy. Yes I am dissapointed with teh " hard competition"... but not because I don't welcome a good game with fair and hard competition.. rather... it's more often than not a cluster F, and it's not the player base' at fault for that. .. it's the developers. Sorry I didn't use my RETURN key 5 times for you. I won't be wasting any more of your time with any more of my thoughts or ideas. -

ty for your response. My perspective entails dramatic changes to most all existing weapons. So unfortunately- a "crit wall of text" would be a required. What am I supposed to do.. distill it down into convenient bite sized portions? It would all require some accompanyment of reason wouldn't it? If you want all that here... fine. [if this is in fact the appropriate place for across the board weapons suggestions]. However, I think that my time in thinking all this and my efforts is managing to continue to play despite the rediculous imbalances is worth something - don't you think? Crystals are offered as random daily gifts ... then from that same pool- throw some my way in a not so random way. Yes, I'm indeed holding my own opinions for ransom [Do what I say or scubatank gets it! OHH~DO~wut~he~say! DO-WUT-he-SAY! <- blazing saddles ref]. Intelligent thought and perspective can have a value placed upon it. Especially since it's not coming from a developer who has to consider the ever complex variables of real world money being spent by players. In the interest of "*sigh" reduction ... here is a primer- The game has potential to foster realistic strategies and consistent consequences for lessons not learned. In some ways, it has value well beyond the face value of individual tank to tank victories. These [ I'd like to believe, desired] virtues are delicate, and easily corrupted. Especially with introductions of inappropriate hardware, as well as the "unblanaced' means to acquire it. Regarding hardware- Shaft and Thunder are the only two weapons which are close to being optimal in supporting this ideal. .. but even shaft needs some work. [ shot impact signature (upon miss) should be further emphasized to further poteniate acquisition of directional intel toward shooter. As it is- the short "flash line" [ both in duration and visual effect] does not provide all that much intel - especially through the din of multiple assailants. Rail leaves a tail- which is quite telling- but that would be inappropriate for shaft. Still- Rail needs a lot of work... and is among the rest who I think require dramatic reconfiguration. Rico is rediculously disruptive [ to the above ideals] ..still far too powerful over distances -(punch and damage)- and far too high a shot rate. Rico is the worst offender in terms of "balance" and overall ideal site progressions. Freeze is simply rediculous- and the most cartoonish, illogical- and unreasonable of the lot, and should be eliminated entirely. Rail is only a hyper volicity projhectile - itsnot a magical mystical ray gun possessing super peripheral powers around the bore and all along it's "flight path"... but developers have assigned this to it anyway. YOu only have to be alongside the tank - even with it's bore pointed in the other direction - and recieve massive damages to your tank.. Rail should have to HIT exactly what it is aiming at.. or get nothing... that is the price users pay for being able to reach clear across the battlefield for 1 shot kills. .. the "nuclear" nature of the round should have nop bearing at all on the immediate environment around the muzzle- or anywhere along it;s flight path. Isida is an interesting concept- but the 'self heal' - and especially teammate heal , need to go entirely. Twins-- like a giant random snow cone spray gun - really just annoying and disruptive in terms of field integrity, and in congested affairs it's sometimes hard to even tell where the spray is eminating from. Just a hail of silliness... give twins real projectiles, with uniqiue characteristics [which aren't in fact cartoonish] and then regulate them accordingly. Firebird-- has been tamed somewhat- and that is greatly appreciated. -

I just realized that I might've placed this in a better location on the forum? I don't know. To me- these are " problems" in need of solutions. However, maybe this is all not be the sort of "technical problems" that this particular catagory calls for? Maybe moderators could move it to it's proper locale? I'm interested to know if I'm even on the right tack with this. Oh wait- I think they're all on vacation now.. well.. proost! -

Thank you for your reply. However, I don't know who you are. meaning, you could be anyone - including a concerned player who simply very active on this board, but who likely wouldn't have much use for my constructive opinions... except possibly to offer explanations on the existing configs, or counter opinions [as those from another player]. I'm not seeking that. I'm not seeking to have my offerings pre-sorted or pre validated before being submitted [ if they'd ever get that far]. I realize these forums must get thousands of opinions daily. But I'm sure they hire people just to pay close attention to them- and maybe you are even among that hired group. But I have no way of knowing that. The 'rank' you are posting through leads me to believe that you actually a well intended forum participant. [ and I applaud that]- However, I'm seeking to 'inspire' what I consider be appropriate developement amendments - and I'd like my offerings to go straight to those who could appreciate the input and maybe even consider this 'voice from the wilderness' pulse. My thoughts stem from the placement of " non buyer" and may carry unique insights along those lines. I'm not seeking a continuous dialog with anyone. Just one long note full of what I consider a valid assessment of current progressions, and possible thoughts on better balance. Im sure there are a ton more considerations than I plug into my own equations.... and that is why I'm not looking for back and forth dialog. I just want to send my thoughts out- and let them do what they will with them. But I want to know that they are being received. Toward that, an offering of crystals will do two things > > It will expedite my usage of actual competative hardware in the field [again, I don't buy crystals- and earning them is a very slow process- especially since the goldbox scenario is so corrupted]- and - it will show me that someone who read this had some actual ties to the inner workings of the machine. I do appreicate that you took the time to even respond. And if this sounded at all cranky, then I apologize. -

I don't buy crystals. I'm reasonably good at utilizing the rig I have. The current game progression is unfairly configured and frustrating to the point of me giving up on it all entirely. This posting represents a spearhead of effort to improve things [ or at least be heard] . I've spent enough time playing to have a reasonably accurate perspective on the whole progression. I'd like to remain, but the way it's set up, one can't work on any personal strategy, or even feel personally productive enough in the field to make the time spent worthwhile. $ or fearing backlash from angry users seems to be the only reason I can come up with to explain the developers continueing to lend "validity" to these certain rediculous elements. But if something is broken- you fix it- regardless of whatever opportunists are made uphappy. If my overall opinion is worth anything- you will offer me crystals for it. Otherwise, I will eventually just stop playing for lack of sufficient machinery to support any meaningful participation. Poor developement has created the need for super tanks at all levels. No $ - no relevance. However, possibly this is all a brilliant developement, if this is first and foremost a money making machine. All the observed faults seem to point in that direction. In which case, they aren't really faults at all then are they. If so, you're all likely getting rich very fast. But- your baby is not only showing growing pains.. but seems to generally be getting cranky huh. Greed, and tip toeing around the big hitters with necessary concrete hard tweaks may be to blame. I understand that people have purchased rigs- and so expect them to function at the level to which they grew accustomed ... but- you should just bite the bullet and let one generation be a little cranky to regain overall player respect. Fair is fair, and though at times taken for granted, the atmos of " fairness" is usually quite obvious, and enjoys well renowned acceptance. Failure of fixes [ or even some useless watered down version of a fix] is always plainly obvious. And I don't think the relative real world presence of a "fix" does not coincide with the degree to which it was watered down - because it still shows up as just as much of a fail ~ if not even more so- since further insult had now been added to the initial long standing injury. I have no idea how this forum works. It was hard enough just finding a way to air this mess out. The cynical side of me tells me that everything is pretty much going exactly to plan. You'll find a way to get a word to me , if you're interested in my opinions. If not.. at least I got to type this out and send it off into the ethos. For what that's worth.
