are you thinking of the network based storage only? That's only a fraction of the job, Feel free to download a network sniffer and trace the traffic while you play a hard game, It's not the absolute amount in MB/s, but the amount of single events. There is the software that simulates the battles on the servers all the time, and it has to transpose each incoming bit of movement data into a useful format and store it. Think of the experiments they use to do.. and how laggy the servers get, even under low player load. It's because they meassure and store much more statistic data then usual. This solution here produces way more data (10, 100x?) which has to be transcoded and stored (it's not useful to store the complete TCP/UDP packages in raw). -

Having the data stored on the servers, will lag them to death - the writing of the logs take a lot of ressources. But you can do it locally on your PC. There you go: -
This one's for you, my friend ! ;) As I heared that you leave, I wanted to buy you one as a "farewell gift". But now as you told here that you discontinue your account... I give it to you here. Spartan. You're the most dedicated, professional and hard working player I've ever met here. All the time re-evaluating your actions and decisions, in order to come out with better tactics, to be ahead of your enemy. A real Pro, by mind and skill. I think we met as Warrant Officers in End-October 2014. Man, I still remember the first time I killed you in that Halloween night map B). And I remember that you used to lead Deathmatches, as if you eat tanks for breakfast ;) I had the chance to fight against you head to head; and with you shoulder by shoulder. I saw you evolving from a pure Viking-Rico player into one of the most decent XP players around here. And man, I can tell you, a lot of Generalissimos here could learn so much from you. So keep your professional attitude and your friendly character! It was a real pleasure to have played with you here, and I wish you all the best for your future life, cya - Rohr' B)

I am quitting this game after 1.5 amazing years with tanki!

Heared you leave - so all the best to you and good luck in your future life! -
I just finished the last thing I wanted to settle in this forum in a positive way; I'm glad it worked out :) ok then.. last login to the forum.. last post.. all important stuff already said.. Oh yeah, maybe I quit with this one:
-
I looked it now three times as I couldn't believe the thing with the self-rightening. As a wasp I am pretty familiar with effects where I look like hopping on my side on my friends screen, while I am just on the side and try to shot myself up. This happens a lot and is usualy server or connection lag. But _THIS_ things that you've posted are really different. Man.. that's bad -.- You can barely forget about defending an edge of a ramp if this spreads out :/

The usual strategy is was: Also watch your average score development with smokey and Isi per hour (meassure over some days). I think you should be able to score higher with Isi - and so get a higher share of the fund.

Thanks for the proposal Rusty, but I won't stay in the forum. A&D asked a similar question at the top of this page; and the answer is basically the same: The last update made me stop playing almost totally (I play just clantrainings at the moment). And so if only the forum is left -> Most clans threads in the forum that I used to read and write in, are caught in arguments since weeks; in some clans even internal arguments are daily business. And then all those "good update!" comments - well better not mention them :) Additionally reading clan threads comes with seeing a lot of screenshots of good games.. that I miss already. So the forum costs a lot of energy those days and without the fun of playing the game, it costs more then it gives. I've no problem in giving something if it makes some sense.. but Tanki as a company, as business, proved to us that they won't change and don't listen. Especially at the moment it looks like this (flash)game is turned down by purpose. And I have not the influence to stop it. But I can choose to not to be a witness of it. I've just a hand full of things on my list, but then then I'm gone. ps: and yes - we will see each other in Unity. Because I am curious ;)

I made this little table to clear up my mind for a discussion with a friend. Now I think it is usefull for all those, that are soo happy with this update: In short words: You can barely make it if you purchase everything at 25% discount - or spend about 100 EUR. On the most right you see the prices you have to pay _additionally_ to upgrade and M3 to an M4. You may notice how expensive they are. since last week there are more M4 around then ever.. .so enjoy the challenge ;) So either: you forget about your dreams of a nice garage with short + mid + longrange and 2 hulls; Or spend a lot of money Or reach Generalissimo Rank and use your poor M3s to compete with the new M4s that have popped out those days Or forget a Players-garage and get a Work-Garage (means only XP + MammyTwins and play Polygon CP 8h a day to make your earnings; as Gizmo you can earn about 2..2,5k crystals p hour). The last point sounds like monotony and work? It is ! But hey.. wasn't this supposed to be a game and make fun? ps: Example for MUs before this upgrade:
-
no you don't. You would get only M0->upgrade-to->M1 for free, but as your rank allows you to get an M3, you can not make use of this (remember the update, that disabled to buy equipment below your rank?) So you have to wait for a discount to get the M3 - and then feel happy to fight M4s. Especially for Isi with it's self healing system M4 makes a huge difference to M3. Sorry that I couldn't make your day.. but that's the way it is now here.

Thanks for your wishes, Total :) I still remember when I met you with your Isi-Viking on this Scyscrapers map, and you told me so happily you killed your first generalissimo :D :D I can really understand why you leave now... so I wanna wish you good luck on your further journey - and to Mr. immortal ;) Please tell my greetings to Smoke if you see him around these days :) Those cross matches have been sooo much fun xD ...I feel very lucky to have met you guys/girls ; to have played with you ; to have laughed with all of you :) And I honestly feel very honored, for all the lines and good wishes I receive here ;..)

++ as the russians would say ;)

@Spartan: Thanks for the offer, I am fine ;) And you'll be fine too. Trust me :) Letting things and people go - even those you think you need - is very important in life. It gives you the ability to separate former reality from today's reality; it allows you to conserve good moments without the attached hurts; and it makes you free to move into something new without having your sweet memories holding you back. You will learn it and value it one day ;) So stop worrying about your self! You are a pretty decent tactician already by now and if you learn to tame your temper you will grow up to a nice man ;) ps: and maybe keep your judgement of other players skills and clans skills for your self, instead of making it public. It causes trouble. Looks like bragging too, you know. I know you don't wanna brag, but communication is about what the other one understands - which is not necessarily what you wanted to tell ;-)

Thanks a lot for all your greetings and feedback.. it's really hard to let you go. I don't hate the game. It simply makes no sense playing it any more - for me. Thanks for your wishes and also thanks for your tip to stay in the community :) It is a good tip - unfortunately it does not apply to my personality.
-
Thanks a lot for all the good wishes :) And yes, I'll miss you as well. Nice people to play with have been one of the reasons that kept me here for so long :) I don't leave in order to force them to change something. I leave because this game stopped feeling like fun and started to feel like work. Work is fine.. but work - without fun and - without payment - and without heloing someone else or make a necessary change for something important.. -> sucks ;) As I can't make them change, I make a change for myself - and so I leave. Wise words :) Sure I will. They always tell us about a new business model.. so lets see what they've learned from Tanki Online.
