Because the Shaft has a scope which allows you to aim exactly where you want to shoot; whereas, the Railgun does not. The Railgun uses an "Auto-Aim" type of feature to direct the shot, which doesn't always work. Example: You see an enemy, you point the Railgun towards it, and you shoot. But what if that enemy was on a higher level than you, or what if it was behind a barricade which had only a small space where you could see through it? This is where the Railgun would most likely fail to hit it's target. The Railgun's "Auto-Aim" system fails to perform when targets are on a high enough level, or when there isn't that much room to shoot through. The Shaft's scope helps with this by allowing the player to move the scope in four different directions (UP, DOWN, LEFT, and RIGHT). You do have a good point, but there is a reason why the laser will only go on the Shaft and not the Railgun. Also, I know you may consider me as a "noob", since you're a lot higher rank than I, but this shouldn't come into play when discussing a topic such as this since I know how the game works, regardless of the fact that I am a "noob" to your level of players.
