Nitro's cooldowns are a bit faster than most other drugs'. For example, if you use DA, you have to wait 1 minute before you can use another DA, 30 seconds before you can use a DD, and 15 seconds before you can use a Nitro. However, if you use a Nitro, you hve to wait 1 minute before you can use another Nitro, 15 seconds before you can use a DD, and 15 seconds before you can use a DA. So it doesn't speed it up, it's just not as long.

People say that "drugs are the life-blood of Tanki", as a large portion of Tanki's revenues comes from people buying drugs. In reality, drugs are killing Tanki -- making tons of players leave because they can't/don't want to buy drugs. Back in 2014, it was uncommon to see less than 200,000 players online at any given time. Now there's fewer than 50,000. Clearly there's something wrong.

Most of us don't want supplies (supply boxes that fall from the sky) to go away completely. They're a crucial part of gameplay, and they make effective map control even more important. However, drugs (supplies used by pressing the 1-4 keys) are extremely overpowered. Did you know that you can pop a DD or DA and then a Repair Kit with zero cooldown? I don't care what you have to say, that's OP. Don't believe me? Try it. I'll wait. Basically what your first paragraph told me is "Druggers are overpowered. You have three options: become a drugger, lose constantly, or get out." For a game that promotes itself by saying it's "based on teamwork", that's hardly fair. That's cool. It's kinda dumb in my opinion, but that's cool. If you wanna buy, go buy. But if you're buying just because you can't win without your "store-bought" advantage, you've got a problem. When you get to my rank, ...Okay, not this rank, but 2nd Lieutenant (the rank of my currently banned-for-stupid-reasons alt), When you get to 2nd Lieutenant, you'll notice that your store-bought advantage is going away. Right now you're chill because you've got a store-bought kit. You have M1 Vulcan and M1 Hunter, and Sakura Paint. Your K/D is through the roof. You think you're special, am I right? Don't gimme that shake of the head, I know you do. Well you're not special. Anybody can get that kit. Anybody can buy drugs. Anybody, including myself, can take you out, because anybody can spend money on this game. You, Burger-N-Fries, you are not special. You're just a buyer who's happy with the temporal product. But come 2nd Lieutenant, you'll get stomped all over and forgotten. You'll be mutilated every round and you'll wonder why. And then after feeling what it's like to be a loser for several rounds, after that K/D takes a dip into the negative zone, you'll quit and start a new account. THAT is Tanki's marketing strategy -- making people have to start over because they're too lazy to develop actual skill before reality hits them. I don't know about you, but I really think that's crappy. It's shoddy, it's unfair to free players, it's unfair to payed players, and it just gets them more money. Tanki doesn't care about the buyer. They don't care about the Preemie. They care about money, and that's IT. Make your own judgment, I'm done rambling.
-
True, but... I'm mostly talking about the lower ranks here buddy. I guess at your rank, preemie players don't really make too much of a difference, since (from what I've seen) everyone at that rank drugs and/or has awesome MU'd paints. The only big difference would be that the preemie players get twice as many crystals in battles, and hey, who doesn't want that? I still think it was a good move. It may seem pointless to you, but for me... it's pretty big.
-
I have to admit, Tanki did a good. They added Premium Account benefits as a Daily Mission. While it makes it harder to determine the preemie players from the free-to-players, it does give people a chance to fight back against the overpowered scum of the game. GG, Tanki... GG.
-
Quite honestly, when I run into Preemie sellouts, I get the entire team to focus on that particular buyer. Who cares if we lose the round? Killing the tool and making the game fair is more important.
-
When Tanki had a like/dislike system, you were able to see just how many players liked an update, and how many players didn't. And usually, they received a lot of negative feedback for rolling out some admittedly stupid updates. Now, there is no dislike button. If you type a negative comment, chances are it won't be read by the devs (and if it is, they'll probably just ignore it). You either like the new updates, or you don't have a say in anything. Bravo, Tanki. Not from me, or any other sane person really, but since you're now only getting likes, bravo.

Review [Issue 43] The Pathological Drugger
KrystenHunt16 replied to Night-Sisters in Newspaper Archive
I'm sure pretty much everybody's seen PRO's advice on Firebird, right? Well, to recap if you didn't, the big rule for Firebird was: If opponent is using a health kit, do not engage. My problem is that when I use Firebird, almost EVERYBODY uses health kits to counter me. Why? Why can't they just admit that they weren't watching their butt and got toasted by a skilled ninja? It's not nooby by any means, but it's a cheap way to cheat a death that you obviously deserved. -
Well to be honest, I did get a lot of free upgrades on my Firebird thanks to the new micro-upgrades system. Unfortunately now the upgrades are so expensive that I can't buy any more, but still... Honestly though, if Premium Account players or pay-to-players are going to dominate all the battles like I've seen so far, what's the point in supporting a free-to-play model?
-
I admit that trolling is fun sometimes. But y'all probably knew that already, didn't you?
-
Tanki recently added a crystal bonus boost to the Premium Account players. Now, preemies will receive an added 100% crystal bonus, or twice as many crystals as normal. Just goes to show you that the people who spend the most money have all the power. In my opinion, if Tanki is going to add this crystal bonus, they should remove or lower the XP bonus, since now free-to-play tankers will be swamped by kit buyers. Or at least remove the premium account crystals column at the end of the battle. God dammit, stop taunting me with the crystals that I didn't earn!
-
With the newly-released Premium Accounts (and yes, I've been running into them left and right), players now get 50% more XP, so ranking up is less of a problem. Besides that, there are extra kits that allow you to buy the newer upgrades at lower ranks (a Staff Sergeant with enough crystals can by Freeze M1 and Viking M1. I'm not kidding). Yes. I have drugs, and I occasionally use them, but I use drugs exclusively to counter other druggers, because I believe in fair play and winning by skill rather than by money. Aside from that, I main as Isida/Wasp, so I obviously do gratuitous amounts of sniping. You are correct. Like I said before, I prefer to win by skill rather than by paying for the game, in addition to my current financial state which doesn't allow me doing that. Proving that I don't want to pay for the game is irrelevant and redundant -- obviously if I've got an issue with pay-to-players than I'm probably not one. The issue isn't me quitting Tanki, or a subscription fee that nobody would want to play, or the economics of the game. The issue is imbalance -- that people who do pay can easily trump those who don't. I'm not saying that all P2Pers are crap (though a lot of them are), I'm saying that in general, despite what anybody else says, the winner is the one who pays money, and the loser is the player who got out-drugged.
-
"Slightly more easily"? Dear tanker, in case you haven't noticed, those who spend ten bucks on the game get a crapload of crystals, enough to get the next upgrade or buy a mountain of drugs. And when buyers get that much of an advantage, rank or cooldowns doesn't matter. A healthpack is basically an extra life, giving a drugger twice as much survivability as a normal tanker. Add in double armor and that makes four lives. Ranks and cooldowns aside, it's just not fair. Like I've said. I work for a living. Buying crystals is not an option for me. Once you grow up, move away, go to college, get your own job, and have to pay for food on your table and a roof over your head, try and see how many bucks you're willing to put towards for an online video game. Also (not to be pulling rank here, but trying to prove a point) how long have you been playing Tanki? I'm guessing you haven't run into mega-druggers and buyers en masse like I have. Either that or you ARE one, in which case I could understand you defending your pay-to-win brethren. If the latter is true, and you're getting upset that free-to-players are complaining about pay-to-players, then you're just proving my point. Reply to this. I dare ya. :D
-
I've stated this before, but it bears repeating. I work for a living, and spending money on a browser-based video game (especially when they're gonna replace it so quickly) is dumb. However, I still keep getting beat by sellouts, so I really don't know what to do. Like I said, Tanki should either become full-on pay-to-play, or make some adjustments to help free-to-players not get dominated. Supressing free players like they are now is not a good place to be.
-
Maybe so, but a lot of the recent updates (as I pointed out) only serve to cater to those buyers, whilst making it hard for those who don't pay to play. And like I also stated, when the updates came out, it received so much negativity that they removed the down-vote button entirely!
-
Just thought I'd mention -- there's also the matter of XT items. Those items used to be extremely rare (I've actually never seen any Gissmo with them. But from what I take it, it's very hard to earn them. Now that Premium Accounts are a thing, the XT items aren't going to be as rare anymore, and in fact are probably going to change the tide of events such as Esports (as a clan with XT items could probably dominate a clan without them).
-
While you've all brought up very good points that seem to (at this point) not be very supportive of my opinion, I'd like to remind you that this is just that -- my opinion. Yes, perhaps I was a bit heated in my writing, but I'm trying to bring up a point to the devs that they either don't seem to see or are overlooking. Thanks all for your input.

Is Tanki Becoming Pay-To-Play?
KrystenHunt16 replied to KrystenHunt16 in Is Tanki Becoming Pay-To-Play? Archive
Tanki Online is a free-to-play MMO tank shooter game. The game revolves around fast-paced gameplay, critical thinking and decision making, and lots of teamwork. The game supports an open-chatting system that is patrolled 24/7 by trained and expert moderators. Tons of new content is rolled out constantly that makes the game dynamic and fun to play. ...At least it was, from what I take it. Yes, I have only been playing for a few short months (like nine or ten actually), but I've already started to notice a downward trend that I'm sure a lot of people have noticed. But I want to address the topic head-on: Is a game like Tanki, a game which states itself that it is a free-to-play game, purposely putting down free-to-play tankers in favor of those who pay? Let's look at some of the changes that have happened recently: - Change in balance to make the non-popular turrets popular (which means more players spending money to get the good turrets, and the players spending no money get the crappy turrets. - Change to PRO passes and private battles to make players pay more money for battles that don't include drugs (yes, you have to pay crystals to play in a battle without drugs). - Removal of crystal drop boxes in matches to force players to finish a battle to (maybe) collect the crystals at the end of a battle. - Removal of Daily Rewards to make players perform Daily Missions to earn tons of drugs and unfair advantages. The players who don't play Daily Missions ended up buying more crystals to get the drugs that they would have had if Daily Rewards hadn't been removed. - Newly-announced Premium Accounts that give players unfair advantages. (And no matter what you say, you'll never convince me that a 20% DEF boost against ALL turrets and mines is not unfair). - Players didn't like some of the updates and started downvoting them, so Tanki removed the downvote button! (it's not like they listen to the forum posts anyway). But the FINAL STRAW for me was reading a comment by one of the Tanki mods. I'm not going to name him as I don't want to be disrespectful, but you know who you are (and if you want to admit it, go for it): "Ok, so make everyone pay $10 USD a month to play tanki and do away with drugs, and mu's, and paints, and anything else that gives players an advantage... and all the players who have never paid anything to tanki but who love to whine a lot... -or- Nobody pays anything and the game closes -or- Keep the game like it is. It is doing fine. Mind you, this is a post from a businessman, not a player! And I realize that your rank might be all that high sir, but how often do you actually play? If your answer is 'often', I'd ask, how often do you play without drugging every second? And if your answer is 'yes', then I'd ask you if you think the game is still doing fine. I doubt your answer would be anything but negative. Also notice what he said about free-to-play tankers? He speaks as though we've done nothing -- that we're a nuisance. We haven't payed anything, but we sure love to whine a lot! That makes us sound like immature brats and free riders who don't appreciate their work. And yet they never listen to WHY we're upset -- because the game is unfair to those who don't pay money. Skill is no longer needed, just shill out a few hundred bucks and become Godmode_ON! As for the second-most-important part of that comment (the part so tastily colored in violet)... let me just say this. When I first started playing Tanki, it was uncommon for there to be any fewer than 200,000 players online at one time. Now I often see it dip down below 10,000. Is the game really doing well, or are all the free-to-play tankers leaving? If the latter is correct, there must be a reason, and the reason is that the pay-to-play tankers are dominating the free-to-play. Not only that, but the moderators and admins are ACTIVELY insulting the free-to-play tankers. Do you think that makes me want to play? Here's my solution: Either change the battle to support free-to-play tankers, or drop free-to-play altogether. The game as it is is broken, and it desperately needs one of two fixes. (If you couldn't tell by how I highlighted them, I prefer the former) You could: - Nerf the effects of drugs (just look anywhere in the Ideas and Suggestions section and you'll find plenty of great suggestions for this) - Nerf Premium Accounts (seriously, 20% defense to ALL, plus +50% XP, and +50% crystals? That's just cruel) - Bring back Daily Rewards (and possibly keep Daily Missions as well for those players who want to go 'above and beyond') - Make non-drug battles free (playing in battles without players with unfair advantages should be the norm, not a privilege) - Bring back the down-vote button, and ACTUALLY LISTEN TO US! or, you could: Drop the free-to-play aspect altogether, lose tons of players (which, may I remind you, also means a lot of free advertising), and make winning a battle based off of who spent more money on the game. If you do choose this, then that's fine, but I for one won't be around afterwards. But you can't leave the game as it is. Tanki is made of mostly players who play freely, and if you're getting a lot of flak for the updates, maybe you should listen to them, instead of listening to those who pay money. (And just for the record, I work for a living and I crave every dollar that I make... I'm not compelled to spend money on a video game that's going downhill) As for the tankers, pay-to-players and free-to-players, what do you think? Do you have any suggestions that could help better this game, or at least tip the scales to be somewhat even again? Feel free to leave a comment or two below -- the admin might not listen, but I assure you that if nobody else does, I will.- 220 replies

category Ideas for Supplies and Drones!

A drug that increases the fire rate of all turrets by 33%? I say 33 because 50% might cause some issues with turrets that already have fast fire rates, like Twins and Ricochet. Also for Vulcan, increase the cooldown speed by 33%, as well as the spin-up speed. Also a box that gives the tanker a mine would be cool, but in order to hold of drug lords, the tankers have to use that mine in THAT BATTLE or they'll lose it. Just a thought. Also maybe increased impact force? That'd be cool, and I could see it working great for parkour enthusiasts.- 2,764 replies

I've been playing as Isida/Wasp and Firebird/Wasp for almost eight months now. I started toying with this new camera system and I'm very disappointed. I realize it may help some tankers, but at least for me, who plays as a short-range run-'n-gun player, it's gonna be awkward to change to a new camera speed. I've also nearly vomited, so there's that. Overall - bad, please change back, or at least make it an option.

Let’s discuss updated rank limits for higher ranks
KrystenHunt16 replied to semyonkirov in News Archive
Personally (just an opinion) I don't like this update. I was really looking forward to battling Generalissimos when I promote to Warrant Officer 5. Honestly though, I've joined a few battles before where there were lots of higher ranked players. If you feel a lower-ranked player is ruining the battle for you, ask them politely to leave. I've been asked to leave at least twice and I did so without complaint. Not everyone will but at least let them know they're not wanted before spouting off to Tanki about them.
