    [Issue 46] In Review: Assault Mode

    Fighting over the flag on RED team really was pathetic on many of the teams I was on. How about a self destruct for ?? non-shaft team members ?? who stay by flag station more then 30 seconds. Or automatic transport to another part of the map after 20 seconds? Oh, I like that!! Or re-spawn far away (like in the valley) for anyone killed while too close to the flag? Or inability to pick up flag if they have not passed the tree in the last 90 seconds, or have not entered the fort after 2 minutes of game play? Or during the previous three minutes of game play? That wouldn't effect shafts and isidas who are doing their own thing at the red end. Make helping deliver the flag a requirement, and much of the in-fighting will be over. I like the rewarding of all team members near the fort when flag capture is accomplished. Even those killed. As long as ONE person gets ALL the reward for flag captures, people will fight over the opportunity to make those points. In capture the flag mode it is seldom that Number One on the team, didn't capture flags. Probably only Isida can be # 1 with any regularity, without flag captures. And YES!!! I would like to see this game mode added to regular play. People will learn to be better team members by this.

    GOLD BOX???? What Gold Box?? I played well over 100 hours in assault mode and saw maybe 5 gold boxes, with maybe 6 or 8 more of them announced that I never saw. I dumped every gold box mission I was given after day two, as a waste of time.

    I found that Firebird on Wasp or Hornet, on RED team, was the perfect solution to Blue team snipers. I killed a lot of them up on their pallisaid. Unfortunately, many players never figured this out, resulting in lots of points for Blue snipers.
  4. The purpose of this mission is to increase the use of boost boxes, and the length of time you are playing, thus increasing the "SALE" of boost. It's called "The Economics Of The Game", as tankiKGB likes to call it. It is a Russian form of Capitalism.
  5. Day three has arrived. But a double crystal card is as scares as Gold Boxes. So I haven't purchased crystals. So I couldn't buy any turrets. Now I can't buy any hulls. I like the map, but my garage is near useless in battle. Maybe the next sale.
  6. Day one of festivities and I am playing "DEATH MODE" in POLLYGONE. And I am doing it without even a Double Bonus crystals card. Thank goodness for free new accounts where I can kill "Noobs" and make them buy crystals; or quit, because this account is going to see another year of impotency because of "financial Balance".

    When I open the "Missions" box, during a battle, to check on how many more of something (collect boost boxes, kill noobs, etc.) I need to do, it takes me about one half of an instant to determine I need three more "capture points" to complete my mission and earn my reward. Then I have to move my mouse way down to the bottom right corner of the mouse pad to "CLOSE" the display. Please, PLEASE move the close button to the top, Just under the "Missions" box. And it would be nice if the "DO YOU WANT TO STAY IN THE GAME......." Question box that we have to use when we go to the "GARAGE" during a game was right under the "GARAGE" box. Centering it in the screen is "Artsy Craftsy" programming, but I'm here to kill tanks and drive "noobs" to distraction so they buy crystals. Thanks for the reordering of things in the garage display. I think it is an improvement. But there is still stuff there I would like in a storage shed because I will never buy, or will never use again (like some paints).

    CURRENT COMBO ?? If you click on your upper left of your screen (Rank & Name & Upgrade XP), you will go to your achievements page where your current tank, turret and paint are displayed. Much faster then going to garage.

    Once you qualify for purchase of M1 by ranking up, you can no longer buy M0. Once you qualify for M1, you must purchase M1.

    I think the changes to garage has possibilities, but I had to look four times before I realized that "purchased" and "to buy" were run together. There needs to be a distinction between them: big color difference, a distinguishing space filled with $$$$, something. And I would certainly prefer newest paints and most upgraded turrets first, rather then at the end. And I still want a storage shed where I have the option to remove never upgraded or used items into storage and out of sight. Why make me sort through items I never use any more??? Or go past paints with no protection that I will never buy???

    Premium Accounts are in the game!

    I like the double crystals for the game. I would be on board in multiple accounts: except for the 50% increase in experience. The last thing I want to do is rank up faster. I just want to upgrade faster. How about a disable option for the 50% increase in experience? I am telling you that I would buy premium times 5 if the increase in experience were not there.
  12. I appreciate tanki's effort to rescue us from terribly unbalanced games that go on for ever. Thank you!!! How about a 5 flag difference between team scores in ctf games. How about 50 kills difference between teams in tdm games. And death matches, by their nature, are suppost to be ruthless. But I would support a narrowing of the ranks that could join. Or even better would be a ranking of the tank by it's upgrade status (yah, I know. That is a lot of lines of code). And for cp games, I would like the teams to always be equal size. It is almost mathamatically impossible for 4 tankers to compete against 5 tankers in a cp game. The score is out of control within the first 2 minutes of the game. I would suggest that a new player not be allowed on the map until someone joins the other team also. There seems to be a lot of turnover in team numbers especially in cp mode, as tankers fulfill their "mission requirements" and leave. Cp mode would be a good place to experiment with team balance. On a related problem, I have finished first in at least 3 games, but not received credit for "finish first mission requirement" because all team members on other team quit. Once I waited 8 minutes, only to have to play additional games. I got to first place by running up my score. This hardly seems fair to those of us who stay till the game is over.

    MY EXPERIENCE LATELY IS THAT WASP AND HORNET ARE NOW EXTREAMLY VULNERABLE ESPECIALLY TO ISSIDA, WHICH SUCKS THE LIFE OUT OF ME, FROM HALF WAY ACCROSS THE MAP, BEFORE I CAN GET THE SECOND SHOT WITH HAMMER, WHICH WAS SUPPOST TO BE DEVISTATING FOR THREE SHOTS, AND THEN HIDE. I NO LONGER LIVE LONG ENOUGH TO GO HIDE. AND FREEZE, WHICH I HAVE ALWAYS HATTED. A BIG PORTABLE FREEZER TRAVELING AT 22 WHAT EVER IT IS, WHICH INSTANTLY STOPS TURRET SWIVEL SO I CAN NEVER GET A SHOT OFF BEFORE I DIE. I LOVED THE RUNNING GAME. NOW TITAN WITH FREEZE WILL BE ABLE TO RUN WASP DOWN. TANKI SEEMS TO BE HEADED TOWARDS A GAME WHERE GIANT HULLS JUST SIT ON FLAGS, WAITING FOR GIANT HULLS TO COME DO BATTLE. THEN ONLY DRUGGERS WILL WIN GAMES. BALANCE CHANGE HAS OPENED PANDORA'S BOX. I HOPE YOU GUYS CAN EVENTUALLY GET A NEW BALANCE THAT WORKS. YOU KNOW, IN U.S. OF AMERICA, NASCAR RUNS FAST CARS IN RACES, AND FARMERS WITH BIG POWERFUL TRACTORS HAVE PULLING CONTESTS: NOT RACES.
  14. I am glad to see this early end feature. I know it will be tweaked for months to come. I would like to see a player initiated option. Some way for the tankers in the game to recognize what is happening and bring the game to an end. Winner or looser, I don't want a bad game to drag out. Those are not fun for me. I want to quit killing the poor person who is sticking to the end, but then I lose my status in the score. If those who are there could have a say. Today, a game that was about to end was extended because one new player joined the loosing team, which is the only team he could join.
  15. I like this! How about a timer on flag possession where the enemy is taking our flag as fast as they can capture it? NO fun when it is impossible to protect our flag because team members leave, or their team just outguns us. Ten to one is 300 to 30. That is a long wait.
