I suggest you to not buy the alteration. I think it doesn't give much advantage like firebird's does. I feel like thunder's reload is fast enough. For poly cp as a thunder user short range turrets seem to be best as they always get close to you and a module with both short range turret and thunder protection is best, get those short range protections against turrets that you dread most.

You can get a gtx 1070 and i5 6400 processor and run almost all games at 60 fps on 1080 maxed out and even 4k at medium settings for that budget! Get an expert to build/assemble the pc for you. You can find people at your local computer shop.

Which one should I go for: firebird or freeze m3? both are available for 60% discount so I might also buy alteration. For no specific map or mode.

If you don't buy crystals or premium then I recommend you to buy hornet and rail m3 and a pro pass every month and play xp battles in ru1. Polygon cp xp/bp is probably the fastest way to make crystals for non buyers. You can make enough crystals with dedication for other turrets and hulls. Other than that there is no best turret/hull but there is a best one for your play style.

Viking m4 can withstand 4 m4 shots without thunder paint and 6~7 shots with paint I recommend to simply m4 your viking as it is incredibly versatile. The thunder that attacked you was on double damage so you will get destroyed in 3 or 4 shots which without your emerald would be a 2 shot (m4 shot on dd deal bring your health down to less than 3/4)..
