How long until the Chat Moderators quit? Only one chat to take care of, which is gonna be stopped for more than half the time, right? Not really much of a job any more.
I get it though. A means to a matchmaking system and all. Wonderful news.
What's bad about it?
There's no organization. 20 to 30 thousand people separated into 11 different channels?
Problem #1: Mods are already accused of banning people without reason. Even more so as of now because the chat is gonna scroll up so quickly, that Mods might see something that's not meant to be an insult or a reason worth being banned for, and they would still get banned.
Problem #2: There's no more space. When there were 24 different servers, there were certain servers that weren't filled with spam - this good quality is eliminated by the fact that there's only one server with every player, good or bad, all mixed into one.
Problem #3: Maybe it's not a problem for others, but the fact that there's spam increases the amount of time when a message gets sent. I suppose the system was to prevent flood from happening, but it doesn't help now because all of Tanki is spamming into one channel.
These are the main problems I can think of, obviously there are more. But my point is.. a means to a Matchmaking system isn't worth the change in the chat.
I'm willing to bet about a week before either the chat gets entirely shut down due to massive amounts of spam. I don't know how Mods work, but I really don't think they can stand up to the sheer amounts of players in only a few different channels.
