Well, it's been what? 12 hours? And already Tanki has 25 pages of people saying what a STUPID idea the missions change is. Will Tanki get a clue and REVERSE THE CHANGE IMMEDIATELY? No. Because whoever is making these decisions is clueless.
-
The daily mission change is INSANE. If I have a mission for speed boxes, I can wind up in Island - where there ARE no speed boxes. If I have a CTF mission, I could get sent to a DM or TDM or CP mission. If I have a "destroy X enemies" I could get sent to battles where there's only 1 other player. This is one of the dumbest changes I've yet seen in Tanki - and I've seen a lot of them. By the way, I predicted the changes to supplies - the "experiments" would be dismal failures. They crashed and burned. This is change is sheer stupidity. Leave the daily missions alone. In fact, leave most of your "tweaks" alone and instead, focus on eradicating BUGS!
-
Most of this is the same sort of stupidity that happened in the redefinition of capabilities a while back. All the hulls got smushed from 6 types to 3. Now we have flattening of turrets so that an M0 is closer to an M3. Why not go all the way, Tanki, while you are ruining the game? Get rid of all the hull variations and all the turret variations. Just make all the paint green. Might as well take away terrain features while you're at it. Just make every map flat. And why bother with CTF, TDM, and CP when you can just make it DM all the way? Just make everyone use Smoky M0 on an M0 titan with no supplies and no upgrades. That looks like where you're headed anyway. You can get rid of 3D rendering. 2D, right? Just a bunch of little green circles moving around on a flat white page making "pop-pop" noises and making numbers turn over. The FUTURE of Tanki! The only good thing I see about the changes is reducing the number of steps in the MU chain. Of course, there used to be less until Tanki screwed that up (remember?). We told you then that 50 steps was ***STUPID*** but Tanki didn't listen. So that change is just undoing some of the damage you did LAST time you messed with the process. But that's Tanki - never time to find and fix bugs. Not enough time to roll out new turrets. But PLENTY of time to screw up the game and introduce more problems. Tanki never listens to its users. Customer Service is an oxymoron (and worse than useless - gives out bad information.) Is it a requirement that the people making these decision must be blind AND deaf and not very bright? The best change to Tanki in the past year was the addition of Stryker and some of the Holiday maps (Assault would have been a cool option to add to all maps - but Tanki devs are apparently too busy making STUPID and USELESS changes to actually add something worthwhile.) When was the last time a kit was introduced? Oh, but there's plenty of time to muck about with the discounts on kits. Sheesh. Meanwhile bugs still abound. The "can't pick up that box" bug. The "my gun doesn't do any damage" bug. The "I can see the game, but I can't get back in Help! I'm trapped in limbo " bug. Or the one that every tanker sees every time they play - the, "That game was supposed to be filtered out on the game list" bug. Really. Such an OBVIOUS bug that's been right in front of EVERYONE'S face for years - and Tanki can't be bothered to fix it... How embarrassing! ... but there's plenty of time to mess up the game with stuff no one wants. Just like when you introduced the 50-step micro upgrades. Way to go, Tanki! /sarcasm
-
Another dumb idea and waste of time. Tanki has bugs that don't get fixed. The documentation for kits has been screwed up for months. The battles shown on every server include options not selected. The client crashes (I had a crash in the last 12 minutes of a 2 hour battle). Customer Service is almost never responsive or helpful. No time to fix those problems - but plenty of time to mess around with cool down periods. No thought given to what's fair to players who shelled out cash money to buy garage supplies. You just screw them. In effect, every supply they paid for will be worth LESS now... which is self-defeating for Tanki. It's like you're planning to steal 25% of everything they paid for and make the rest of what they paid for not work as well. I'm sure they'll be eager to buy again - NOT! So, don't fix the things that are wrong. Screw up the things that don't matter. Pull the rug out from under the people who send you money. Sounds like a Tanki-Customer-Service-Style "strategy".

Tanki in it$ (lack of) wi$dom, took down the page with all the kit de$cription$. It'$ been gone for week$. I've inquired when the information will be put up again, but the (utterly u$ele$$) cu$tomer $ervice folk$ $ay they don't know. $o now we get a page with a picture, and a $$-PRICE-$$, but no de$cription. In $hort, the mo$t u$eful part of the page ha$ been removed and $emi-u$eful (but very dollar oriented) information put in it$ place. When will the u$eful information be back?
-
Well, they deleted protections from my garage, and refused to fix it. Does that count?

So basically, if you put your crystals into Isida, Rail or Hornet, you are SCREWED (and the fun of Hornet drifting goes away). Ricochet becomes the new "Hammer" and everything else just becomes more like everything else. This whole thing smells like a Tanki bait-and-switch. Get you to invest your time/effort/money into a combination that works - then break it so you have to go look for a different solution, i.e., START OVER! While I recognize that the concept of "fairness" is foreign to the Tanki staff... Here's an idea - Let everyone swap turrets/hulls/protections/paints. Just let them cash in all their hardware at the current prices for the individual pieces, then buy whatever they want for replacement. So if I have an M3 Hornet (which is now pretty much crap), I can cash it in for 158,300 crystals and use it towards an M3 Mammoth (242,200 crystals) or to buy an M3 Freeze (171,500). My useless Hammer M3 (235,800) can be traded in on a new M3 Protection Package (250,000). After all, if Tanki is going to "reboot" after you've made an investment, shouldn't YOU be able to "reboot" too? Otherwise, a lot of Tanki players are going to feel like they've been ripped off... and they'll be right.
-
Developers have to eat too. So I don't mind the idea of Tanki trying to make some money. But the other side of that is that their "Customer Service" is more like, "Make stupid excuses, lie to the customer, mislead the customer and never, ever, EVER do anything helpful. I sent in money to Tanki shortly after I started playing because I appreciated the game. But since then, my treatment by "Customer Service" has been so horrible I swore I would never, ever EVER send them another penny. Tanki could probably improve their revenue stream if they bothered to serve their customers. But they don't do that. Instead of fixing bugs, they create "new features" which create even more bugs. Instead of responding to customer concerns, they make excuses and lie. Ultimately this will result in Tanki failing - but I'm just a customer - why listen to me?
-
I've had stuff missing from my garage since the paint separation. I've written several times to "Customer Service" about it. They never do anything but lie and make excuses. Expect more of the same.
-
Oh yeah. You can use Chrome. It's just the graphics go to hell. Come on Tanki, change your Flash version gate so we can use plug-in v22, and those of us who have rolled back to a previous Flash don't have to deal with this crap.
-
Sure took Tanki long enough to respond to this. I got BS answers from "Customer Service" that misdirected me in multiple directions. I even downgraded the Flash plugin per Tanki direction - the only problem being TANKI WON'T LET ME USE IT. I get that stupid warning that my Flash plugin is out of date. Could Tanki screw it up even more? I don't know. I'm sure they're trying.

HUGE FREAKING BUG! ***CRASH*** *CRASH* Cra-cra-cra-CRASH!! No, it's not the sound of some nut job slamming his tank into the wall on Polygon. It's what Tanki has been doing to my browser(s) for the past couple weeks. For about 3 weeks now, I've been getting periodic Flash plugin failures. In the past couple days, they have gotten so bad that my expected time in battle before a crash is less than two minutes. I uninstalled Flash, removed the plugin, reinstalled it all - no improvement. I have not had this problem with Flash on any other site. Recently, crashing the browser has not been bad enough. Tanki has been crashing my COMPUTER. That's right - the whole thing locks up and has to be rebooted. I had been using Safari without incident for over a year until this happened. So I switched to Chrome. Everything was (sort of) fine... for a while. The pictures were more pixelated, but the game was playable. Then the crashing began. Crash! Crash! CR-CR-CR-CRASH!!! Tanki says it's a known problem. I'm wondering why this wasn't caught in testing. I guess they're too busy adding NEW features to make sure the OLD features actually work? But this is a MAJOR bug - we used to call it a "severity-1" bug - the sort of thing that would have had my entire dev team working round-the-clock to fix. In fact, we would have rolled the code back for a bug this major. Why hasn't Tanki done that??? So, rather than endure crashes every couple of minutes (and SYSTEM crashes every 20 minutes or so) I won't be playing Tanki for a while. Of course, that will screw up the "daily missions" continuity, but at least I won't be rebooting my computer 3x per hour. Hey Tanki! Why don't you put the daily missions tally on hold for a month? If someone misses a daily mission (because your crash-crash-crash software doesn't work) how about NOT penalizing them for your mess? Just an idea. But I'd like an answer.

So why are there TWO levels of abstraction in naming protections? For example, "Eagle D-B M1" We know "M1" is the protection level, so no problem with that. But what is "D-B" and what is "Eagle"? To find out, go to the protections... and scroll... and scroll... and scroll. Ah! There it is! Right between "Orca" and "Panda" You guys never heard of alphabetical order? Okay, now I've found it, I can click on it and find out what it's about. Shaft and Railgun. Okay, fine. But I want protection from Shaft, Railgun AND Thunder. Does that protection exist? What the hell does "Thunder" protection look like anyway? do I have to read ALL the descriptions on ALL the protections until I find it? Oh. Wait. I have a legacy paint with Thunder protection. Ah! So that's what the icon looks like. So how do I find the Shaft-Rail-Thunder combo? Seems the only way to find out is to scroll... and scroll... and scroll.... and scroll... Do you guys get paid by the click? Or the thumb-drag mile? How about a quick lookup table where you can click the options you want - and the icons are "assembled" for you into the protection you want? So if I want protection against Isida and Hammer, I click drop-down menu 1, select "Isida" and drop-down menu 2, select "Hammer" and leave column 3 empty and press "show me" and - viola! prices pop up for 0,1,2 and 3 level protection. No need to name it anything. But if you DID want to name it something, how about HI-2 for Hammer-Isida-level-2. Keep the letters in alpha order, and they'll be more-or-less unique. (Okay Firebird and Freeze , Rail and Ricochet - you kinda need two letters so HAIS-2.) Or better yet, set the price for INDIVIDUAL protections at 5, 30, 100, 250 EACH and let people mix and match them. You could have a Thunder 1, Freeze 3, Hammer 2 combination: It would be called Fr3Ha2Th1. Which would tell you EXACTLY what it was without all the animal gobbledygook. And it works both ways. You want a new protection against Rail at level 3 and Firebird at level 2. That combo is called "Fi2Ra3" under my naming system. What is it called in the current system? Okay, you can't do it under the current system - how about Rail and Firebird M1? What's the name? Wildebeest? Crow? Turkey? Come on, we don't have all day. Going the other way: It's easy to see what a Sm2Th2Vu1 protection does. Quick - what does "Shark" protect you against? The additional abstractions, the long list of combinations, add nothing to the game. In fact, they're a pain in the nether regions.

Tanki seems to be getting less and less stable. I'm seeing plug-in crashes (those are new!), "an error occurred" messages, massive lag (followed by hyper-motion), "gun doesn't work" bugs... sure would be nice if the bugs got fixed BEFORE adding new features... which will of course carry their OWN new bugs. The current kit pricing is pretty much a joke. I've seen kits where it's actually cheaper to buy the turret and the hull individually instead of the kit because the paint price is so jacked up. Who really cares whether the tank looks "pretty" if it costs more than the rest of the upgrade for the paint?? And right behind that I'm seeing discounts lowered to 15% in some cases - which again makes it pointless to buy the kit unless it's EXACTLY what you want. How often does THAT happen? I sometimes get a hull that it's exactly what I wanted - or even try out a new hull/turret combination because the price was reasonable. Seems those days are gone. Tanki seems to be offering more choices than ever - and making sure you don't choose any outside a narrow set because it would be dumb to pay for fluff.
-
Can we buy some common sense for the Tanki Developers? You know like, FIX THE BUGS BEFORE YOU ADD NEW FEATURES? Some of the paint prices are just plain stupid. I've seen kits where the cost to buy the hull and turret separately was less than the cost of the kit. All you got for the extra 7000 or so was the paint - with no protection! Seriously? 300,000 and 400,000 paints - with NO PROTECTION?
-
New paints are nice. Fixing bugs would be nicer. Even fixing the paint pricing on kits would be better than new paint colors. Seriously - paints for 150,000 to 400,000, with NO protections? That's INSANE. While prices of some paints are reasonable in kits (4500-5000), paints like ALIEN are still at the old levels. Come on Tanki! Fix the BUGS before adding new ones... I mean, new features.

I'd really like to see an "ARE YOU SURE???" button for daily mission changes. Several times now, I've gone to click to close the mission list box and clicked on "change mission" by mistake. An "are you sure" button would make sure missions aren't changed by accident. It's a human interface issue. VERY BAD practice to put a button that has irreversible consequences next to one that is just a "close the box" button. Sort of like, a "Launch the Nuclear Missiles" button next to a light switch.

"Gun Doesn't Work" bug. I have had several incidents where I'll start playing a game and none of my hits have any effect on enemy players. It doesn't become obvious until there's a hit where the opposite side definitely SHOULD have been destroyed. (Seven Double Damage hits to a lower grade Wasp). The "fix" for this is to log out and log back in... but clearly the problem is a software bug. The "That Box is NOT for YOU!" bug. Quite frequently a supply box will NOT work properly. A player will run over it and the box will remain. I've had this happen to me countless times and I've seen it happen to other players. I've even driven back and forth over a box upwards of a dozen times without it activating. I'm not off line - I'm able to destroy enemies and be destroyed. Please fix this VERY ANNOYING bug. New features are nice. BUG FIXES ARE BETTER.

Reports on Bugs and Glitches following server downtime on 11th July 2016

There seems to be a lot more emphasis on adding NEW FEATURES instead of fixing the OLD BUGS. Will that emphasis change? Nah! I've been having a lot more "An Error Occurred" errors lately. Also, still have the "you can't pick up THAT box" bug. And there's the "invulnerable foe" bug - sometimes you can shoot someone a dozen times (yes, 12 times actually) in what should be at most a 2-shot kill, and they keep on going. Those are just the first three I can think of at the moment - they've been around for a long time and apparently nothing is being done about them. Will they lead to Tankpocalypse II? Maybe not - but they're sure irritating. -
So does the Premier multiplier apply to the game crystal multiplier? That is, if the battle fund is double (2000 instead of 1000) and the player's normal share would be 200 (but is now 400 because of the game multiplier) does premier status mean 800?
-
Daily missions SUCK! What started out as a reasonable idea has gotten so bad, they're hardly worth doing. I recently got three missions with the BEST of the results being a dozen speed boost. After spending nearly 2000 crystals to get a mission worth doing, I still was left with just speed boost for the best results. Daily missions need to have higher rewards. I know at first they were TOO high - but this has gone the other way and now makes the whole game less appealing. Either raise the mission bonuses, or go back to the "daily gift".

Score cap for standard battles (Updated on August 28)

Why not just have an "I surrender" button? If the majority of the team wants a reset - why not? -
Score cap for standard battles (Updated on August 28)
BAMBIBX replied to semyonkirov in News Archive
I've played a couple CTF games with the new limits - and they SUCKED big time. Most 15 minute games last less than 10 minu Before the latest changes, I've played in 15 minute games where one team was down by more than 5 flags and we were able to come back and win. In one game three flags were scored in the finaly 2 minutes! Those come-backs will never happen with a 5 flag limit! I'd rather see the limits completely removed and go back to the old way (which had lots of problems) than see this new way where people don't even get a chance to play. I had one game I entered that had 10 minutes left. By the time I got into the game, one team had 4 flags and within 15 seconds, they scored the fifth flag! 15 seconds of play, Tanki??/ What a waste of time! The new approach also means no one can join a losing team and help it win. If a team in down by two flags, anyone who joins has to help overcome the lead before the enemy scores its fifth flag. This change was NOT very well thought out. Tanki, instead of just throwing out stupid changes like this to see who likes them and who doesn't, why don't you ask for input FIRST!?? Your approach looks like "READY! FIRE! ... AIM!" Poor planning at best. Outrageous stupidity at worst. -
Score cap for standard battles (Updated on August 28)
BAMBIBX replied to semyonkirov in News Archive
The idea isn't a bad one - but the implementation sucks. Most 15-minute battles now conclude in 6 minutes. Sometimes it takes longer than that to develop a strategy. I have three suggestions: Add an "end the game now" button for a team that is down by the margins. Let the players vote to concede the battle - or fight on. Just because the margin on the scoreboard is large doesn't mean the battle isn't any fun. So let the losing team decide whether to concede or not. And if things start to get interesting, let them reverse their decision. Don't just make the decision for them. If people are having fun, why do you want to ruin it for them even if they're losing badly? Second - address the bigger problem. When a game resets, quite often a large number of people from one side or the other leave the game. Suppose you have 10 v 10, the game resets and 5 players from one team leave. Now it's 10 v 5. No point in even playing the game. There are several ways to address this - one would be the player reset option I mentioned. Another might be to allow players to switch sides to even up the teams. This could even be an option that players set for their account globally - a switch that says, "If the teams are unequal by more than 20% or 1/2/3 players, switch me to the other side to even the teams" You could even have a rank-weight option based on experience. Another thing that should change - when all players from one team leave, the game is OVER! I've played in games where after a few minutes, one team leaves. To collect earned points, the winners have to stick around and just wait. That really sucks. You could have a 60-minute game you've played for 30 minutes, you only lead by 3, but the other side leaves. Who wants to wait a half hour for their points? -
Number 5 got the pace, the tension, the ACTION! Go Miss Tanki!
