why don't you want to publish their names? Tanki online wants us to look at their stats and feel sorry for them http://ratings.tankionline.com/en/user/ZOLOTOLOB10/ 111 hours since 23/10, which is 12 days. That's 9.25 hours of playing battles per day. http://ratings.tankionline.com/en/user/Kriks_Gladiator_1964/ 148 hours, that's 12.3 hours a day!! brought to you by tanki stats

I couldn't agree more with your post and the post you are quoting. The statistics should reflect someone's ability in the game. The total amount of time spent in this game is a completely unnecessary fact. It does not prove or imply anything positive about a player. One could say that it shows whether someone is active or not. Well it would, if it reflected the amount of time spent the previous week for instance. Now it's just the accumulative sum of all the hours spent in the game. So it's utterly useless. And as many have already explained, it can cause a lot of negative effects to someone playing this game. The developers can't be this ignorant on the subject to be honest. They have this entire team of managers, people doing marketing, and they all agreed that the hours spent would be beneficial for the game? What the heck????

These are some very good ideas. Unfortunately while we had a very nice discussion on this update, the developers and the staff in general decided to completely ignore us, so I really doubt they won't do the same with your suggestion. Sad, but that's the reality. The staff doesn't care what we think, they do what ever they like.

look as you can see in my profile, I don't have any statistics coming up I am just waiting for the developers to ANSWER whether they are planning to keep that stupid timer or not, because it's useless and I don't feel comfortable with it once I get a reply from the staff, and if it's negative, I am out of here.

Nothing, you simply don't get the point.

First and foremost, just because something is legal it does not make it right as well. For example, you can always go around your town, knocking everyone's door and asking them if they are kind enough to sign a piece of paper handing in all their belongings to you. Statistically speaking, after knocking thousands of doors, at least one will be stupid enough to sign that paper. This is legal. Should you do it? You know the answer to that question. Now to talk in more legal terms, let's see what it is that you are quoting. Here you state that the company has the right to make available to the public some Materials and you define those materials as follows: Now let's look which of those actually has anything to do with the hours spent playing the game: texts: no drawings: no images: no sounds: no programs: no commands: no names: no subjects: no stories: no dialogues: no phrases: no concepts: no illustration: no animations: no sounds: no musical compositions: no effects: no documentation: For this you write I am sorry but this is not how the law works. You don't get to define things however you want. The law defines them for you. And apparently that is not the case here. Documentation can also be any documents storing your personal information like real name, address, credit card number. If you can define documentation however you want, I can do the same and define it as anything storing what I stated in my previous sentence. So now tanki online can make your credit card available to the public, your name and your street address. That's great! let's go on: game chats: no any other form and include any other derivative material, placed in the Game by User or the Company: no again just as in the documentation, this can be interpreted differently by anyone, the user generates material every time they buy something, as described above. So this would give the company the authority to do what ever they want with this material. And I am pretty sure you would be among the first to cry for privacy when they decide to put your real name out there in the public. So, I am sorry but I don't see your point. It's not there, like at all. Both morally AND legally speaking. No where in the use of terms do they suggest explicitly that this company has the right to store information about how much time you spend playing the game. And even if they did, which they don't, all we do is, we ask them not to. We ask them to respect the fact that some people do not want others to find out how much time they spend on this game. Everything else we do not care about. Why do you need the hours spent when you have the experience gained by using some gear? So please, listen to the community, like I said before not everyone here is a child, some of us do have jobs, spouses, friends and want to keep a low proflie when playing this game. By putting the time we spend in this game out there, you automatically put everyone at risk of unnecessary exposure.

so because others reveal private information to the public, you don't see what's wrong by doing the same here? And we are not even talking about someone hacking private information, we are talking about the same people who are legally holding your data, making it available to the public without your consent. Yes I play a public game on the internet, just like I go to public pubs, restaurants etc. No public pub will have a monitor displaying how many beers you have consumed throughout your entire life, how much time you have spent in the pub etcetera. Why? Because no one wants their private lives to be monitored. They just want to enjoy the damn beer, they simply want to get away. If the total game time is meaningless to you, then I don't see what you are doing in this thread to be honest. We provided enough evidence as to why it could be meaningful to a lot of people, so what exactly are you trying to prove here? You don't care, we get it. Some people do. And both you and tanki online should respect that. At least what we want is a final word from the administration. Because NO one from the administration wants to clear things out. As you can see in my profile, I haven't played at all because I am waiting for a definite answer. Are they planning to leave the system as is, are they planning to remove the hours spent playing the game, or give us the opportunity to hide the profile? Just answer. If you do not care, we will just leave the game. End of story.

he doesn't get it. Devs/Admins don't get it either. No prior warnings/discussions/polls. Nothing. It's very sad how they treat the community.

Everyone uses time one way or another to schedule their daily lives. No we should not remove ranks, because no one except the people in this game use them, which is completely fine. Time however as I said, is completely different, which is why I do not want people outside this game to know how much time I spend on it. Your future boss will not care if you are a generalissimo on tanki online, but he will care if he sees that you spend several hours a day playing this game. If you can't see the difference, and how that can create unnecessary problems in your real life, then that's your problem. Like someone said before, and I quote:
-
except there is positive knowledge and negative knowledge look one post above

the statistics should be used to show off someone's skills in the game, and not to show off how little life they have, by spending over 100 hours in the game. What else is the hours spent proving? You can always put a ranking of the most used equipment by the tanker, without also including the total amount of hours spent playing with that equipment. It is useless, unnecessary and can only create problems if someone finds out that you spend too much time in the game. I find it funny how they also include a share to facebook feature, sure I will share all my statistics, only to get the "get a life" comments after everyone sees how much time I spend playing this game. You are missing the point basically. No one is against the statistics, but we are against too much exposure of the community to the public, in a negative way. When we do something we love, we don't keep a timer. We just do it. So please, either remove the hours spent playing the game, or let us hide our profiles if we want to. Not everyone here is a child, there are people with families, jobs. Please stop exposing us in such a negative way.

I would like the developers to explain to us why we can not view their profile, while we can view pretty much every normal user's profile. For example: @amelin @arts80 @Anton Volkov @vitaly @denton @dragonfly What do you guys have to hide? Why did you want to restrict your data from the public view, and let everyone else out there in the open without asking first? True discrimination.

I returned back to the game after a week of absence only to see the mess generated by the new update. It's good I was on holiday so i am kind of off the gaming addiction to be honest, so I can just leave as well. Or at least until they decide to remove the stupid "hours played" from your profile.
