Hey everyone! I'm still alive, just have some important real life stuff I've gotta focus on. I should be back by the end of the month - I still plan to rank before next year :lol:

I'm getting very close to that fateful rank, . I have enough to buy 3 M3 kits and still have a bit left over. These are the kit combos I am looking at, thoughts? Prometheus + Guardian + Legend - This gives me a good spread of M3 turrets and hulls. I get Fire and Smoky for MM battles, and XP, for 1,399k out of 1.470k. Prometheus + Cardinal + Legend - This seems a bit close-range heavy - I'd lack a good midrange option. I've also heard that twins protection doesn't help much. I get Fire and Twins for MM battles, for 1,381k out of 1.470k. I'd need the stable plasma alt as well. Challenger + Vandal + Legend - Striker/Twins/Rail is pretty versatile. I do lose out on the Fire protection and turret. 1.344k out of 1.470k. Challenger + Prometheus + Legend - Fire/Striker/Rail is also pretty versatile. No midrange option if Striker doesn't work for me though. 1.402k out of 1.470k. Challenger + Turtle + Legend - Striker/Smoky/Rail gives me a midrange option if Striker is not to my taste/gets nerfed, at the cost of a close range option. 1.342k/1.470k, so is beat out by the next option: Challenger + Nomad + Huntsman - As above, but for 1.273k/1.470k. Challenger + Nomad + Man-o-War - Striker/Thunder/Rail leans more heavily into long-range battles. Thunder is good with Hornet though. 1.285k/1.470k All of the above combinations get me Hornet, Hunter, and Titan for my hulls (arguably the best in each category), Zeus (the best paint <3), and XP (for XP/BP battles). Any other 3-kit combos that do the same could be considered as well.

I don't know, I feel like Dictator is not as good at higher ranks. All supplies is not that impressive. It's not bad, don't get me wrong, but everybody uses supplies like crazy already... Hunter is definitely the best though. Quick recharge, devastating effect.

This challenge is trash. The basic rewards are the same for non-buyers, but with all of the good stuff (containers) pushed back by a tier. Not to mention that we only get 47 rewards, not 50... over 60 tiers. I thought the empty space was a glitch, really disappointing to find that it's just another worthless star requirement. Rico XT is beautiful, but there's no way I can play 2+ hours1 a day to get it... I get it, XTs should be rare - that's fair, but throw a bone to those who can't play all day - something at least, it needn't be an XT... 1Without premium, 1800 stars requires 20 battles a day at 3 stars/battle, and 24 battles a day at the more reasonable 2 stars/battle. Assuming 30s average waiting time per battle, and battle times of 6:50 (Has anyone ever seen the very start of a battle?), that's ~146 and ~176 minutes, respectively. Halving those numbers for premium shows that even if you bought 30 days of premium for the challenge, you'd still need to play for over an hour every day... TL;DR The f2p rewards for the challenge suck, and Rico XT will not be achievable for the vast majority of tankers.

I recommend saving for an M2 kit. Then you can upgrade that to M3 as you rank. If you micro upgrade M1s they'll be obsolete in 2-3 ranks.

I love this. THIS is what I want to see. Seems very reasonable and very cool. I suspect we will just get 50% sales/x10-20 golds/2x battle funds though.

Yeah, it's not bad. I wasn't totally shafted. The spec switch still makes me sad though.

Still salty about the spec switch. Viking's been my favorite hull for years, loved the looks and stability. I finally got it to M2 10/10, and then BOOM! It's the ragdoll hull! :( Anywho, I came here to mention that Hunter's overdrive is really powerful when gold hunting. The first time I saw a hunter do it I thought it was really cool, and told him so. The second time it was kind of annoying. I dread the third time, not sure if there's any point trying to use Viking :P EDIT: Third time, not fourth. Apparently I can't count.

Maybe. I've tried every weapon, some on alts rather than my main (this account). Twins isn't bad. Isida is not fun for me unless clanmates are on. To many selfish players. Not a fan of Freeze, Vulcan, Hammer, or Shaft, unfortunately. I've heard that protection against Thunder is prolific at high levels, but I like the turret well enough. I absolutely despise Magnum. I enjoy Striker, but I'm not great at it. My suggestions for preferred turrets are a general idea, I'm open to other plans. I'm kind of looking for ideas on kit combinations that will get me at least 2 hulls I like and 3 turrets to use, Zeus paint being an additional bonus. Perhaps as one of my kit choices I should consider Challenger (Titan-Striker-Zeus)?

So what do you think I should get? Legend/Touche + Paladin & Incendiary shot? Remember, I have 1.3m crystals to work with, I've been hoarding for well over a year.

Looking for recommendations for when I hit Lieutenant General. I currently have over 1.3 million crystals hoarded up, and expect to have another 1-2 hundred thousand more by when I rank up. My current gear is M2 10/10 Rico/Viking (with Minus Field Stabilization), with 31% Hammer and Vulcan, 26% Rico, Rail, and Thunder. Plenty of supplies. Goals: XP or BP M3 is a must. I enjoy Viking, wouldn't mind Titan at all. Hunter is okay, I guess. I love Rico, but it feels UP right now. Maybe just me? I enjoy Smoky a fair amount. Firebird is okay, I have the Compact Fuel Tanks alteration. I did get lucky and pull the insanely cool Firebird XT a while ago, so there's that. Side note: I do not have my favorite paint, Zeus. Plans that acquire it in a kit or have crystals left over for it on a 50% sale are not required, but are preferred. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Overdrives in general are too strong. Please nerf them all to ~25% of their current effects and make them recharge ~50% faster. There's no strategy anymore. Viking nerf was needed, but I think it's overdone. I'd be using Hunter if not for the fact that A ) it's ugly and B ) I MUed my Viking to 10/10 prior to the new overdrives and don't really want to spend hundreds of thousands of crystals on Hunter, especially with M3 kits one rank away.

Yeah, I'm not really interested in this event. Not a fan of Juggernaut, not gonna no-life to get 7k kills (Seriously? That's over 200 per day!), and I don't care for the paints. Saves me time, I guess.

Basically, they switched the parameters of Hunter and Viking (Maybe not exactly, but pretty close). So sad, I don't like Hunter's looks at all...

Viking used to be the stable hull :(
