    Ideas for Game Modes!

I like the last tank standing idea. I also like the multi team idea. Though 3 or going tandem is a better way. Four teams are too many. Far too many folks if they get the lightest beating leave. Go up 3 flags on them and they quit. Get 10 tank lead on them in TDM and they run. I hate that, I'll be on a losing team but it's still close, then turn around and find out more than half the team quit and we are now outnumbered 3 or 4 to 1. So you want to keep the teams down to where at least two stick it out or go with pairings. So many people team in DM mode nowadays anyway. Really frustrating when they do that, but it's rare to see a DM mode game today where at least one such pair is operating. You'll see them grouped together shooting EVERYONE but each other or openly admit it in chat.

    Ideas for Game Modes!

Can't afford to start over. I have M1 Twins that are at 43 of 50, just cannot afford the upgrade costs. Prefer the long range maps anyway. Or I'd go with the Isilda, which is at least M2. Big thing is I lost ground. I didn't keep up with the upgrades. I tried to keep 3 turrets, 1 hull and 1 paint upgraded and I was upgrading slower than folks the same rank. At 2nd Luie I often had totals like 45 kills to 3 losses. Seeing people my own rank was still a good thing. Today I see people my own rank and I cringe, knowing I cannot kill most of them with less than 3 shots. What I should have done was abandon Twins and Isilda. Gotten a Mammoth or Titan instead of a Viking and done it that way. Too late now. By the time I upgraded a Mammoth to M2 or saved up to buy one I'd be a 3 star general and need an M3 to be competitive. I don't see a way to fix it. Some maps it's like the old days. I shoot people and they die. Some maps I shoot them an infinite number of times and they just roll on. It'll be worse when I advance. I'll lose a lot of maps and be pitted against lots of generals. I can't kill them generally. They can stand there and I'll do full power shots at idle generals and need 3 sometimes 4 full power shots to kill one. Usually only time I kill a general is if they are almost dead already when I shoot them. If it was something I could just push through and I'd be back to being tough I could do that but every day the battles get more lopsided. Wish I could do a screen cap to show just how insane it is sometimes. Thanks on the suggestion though.
  3. Bah there's no balance on the turrets. I love playing the shaft but it's useless against all the druggets and spenders. With the shaft you give up mobility and speed for damage. If have to shoot somebody 3, 4 sometimes 5 times and cannot kill them, if you shoot them full power double damage and they keep on trucking, then your pretty screwed. The kits especially are impossible to take out. These guys have fully upgraded M3s and my M2 Shaft that I'd be a 3 star general to finally earn enough crystals to actually upgrade to max doesn't even anny some of the people I shoot any more. I have 23 or 24 of 50 upgrades and rarely kill anybody with one shot unless I've got DD. Used to be full power shaft would kill anything but Titans and Mammaths with a single shot without DD. My Viking is swiss cheese. I might as well be using a Wasp for all the protection it gives me. M2 Viking around 24 of 50 in upgrades and I still die from a single shot from Thunders, shafts and rail guns, even with Digital paint on. Richochets 3 or 4 hits I'm dead. Then you see these folks in a fully upgraded Mammoth just roll in. Everybody shooting it but it has Double Shields and uses repair kits and even with DD you cannot kill the thing. One shot and it kills you. I don't call that balanced in any way. Having multiple turrets or hulls is senseless. Not unless you have a ton of money to throw in. It takes me over a week now to save crystals per upgrade. Gold boxes always fall in the same place on most maps. That means Vikings and Hunters have no chance at them. Folks just push you out of the way, crawl on top of you or kill you with a single shot. I try hard for the boxes. I'm often the first one there. Doesn't matter. First or last I have no chance at the box. Only time I get them is when they literally fall on top of me while nobody else is a round or I'm facing somebody else in a Viking or Hunter. A couple times somebody was cool and let me have one that could have pushed my tank out of the way easily. I've had a lot of occasions where the tank on top of me got the gold box. If you want balance, drop the gold boxes randomly and drop them quickly. This slow drop just means everyone gets there and it's an unfair advantage to really light or heavy tanks. If you want balance then stop the kits. The Thunder kit that lest people buy M3s when everyone else is lucky to have a barely upgraded M2 is insane. Forget the name of the kit but there are dozen folks out there right now with it and they usually drug on top of already having a paint you cannot touch and a weapon that kills you with a single shot even with DS on and a paint that is good against thunder. They'll use DS and kill 3 or 4 folks with a single shot. Hit repair kits so you cannot even whittle them down. The Vesuvius is another kit that unbalances things. Folks with that kit are tough to kill at lower officer ranks. I could almost buy a cheap car for what it costs in crystals without specials to buy one of those kits and max out the paint, hull and turret. That's not balanced, it's not even a good pay for play scam. It's just letting a few folks with more money than sense rule the game. It's not like you can save up to get a kit. It takes me a week right now for ANY upgrade on turret or hull. Closer to 3 weeks of crystals to upgrade a paint job. Mean time the other players who are pouring money into the game are doing several upgrades of each. That's not balanced.

What to buy? Which is better?

Which turret is better varies by what rank you are. The turrets upgrades are available at different levels and when your using M2s against M1s or M1s against M0s you have an edge. What maps you play are also important. A few maps are good for any turret. Brest, Forrest, Lost Temple for example are great maps for any turret. Polygon is for close up only. No point taking a Shaft, Smokey or Railgun into that map. Thunders do OK but only because most of them drug big time and have bought a kit that makes them nearly invincible. A thunder that doesn't have tons of money invested in it is instant dead on Polygon. With highways you need some short range people to go get the flag. However that map is ruled by long range turrets. Shaft, Rail gun, Thunder. It's a good map for Isildas as well since there are plenty of people to heal and if you have a fast hull there are flags to capture. Monte Carlo needs somebody, usually a shot gun or Isilda to go get the flags on the other side, but other than that it's a long range battle. Rail guns are the most versatile turret and the game designers favor it. You get more upgrades, some contests are only open to rail gun/wasp combos and it upgrades pretty quickly. So you might consider a rail gun. Takes probably more practice to learn that than other turrets however. People dis Twins but it takes a lot of skill to learn the tank control to be really good with Twins. Anybody can go in blasting but with Twins you need to keep moving and stay ahead of the barrels of rail guns, shafts and thunders. Shaft is my favorite to play, but I wouldn't recommend it. Too expensive and slow upgrades. Takes considerable skill to be good with one. Perhaps the most difficult turret to master. But it's also basically a sitting duck when you get higher level and play against waves of druggets. Spawn, die, spawn die is how it goes. Get away from the short range and some drugger in a thunder or rail gun nails you before you can take a shot. Your team mates are often your worst enemies. Instead of going around they just drive right into you. It is like the laser going off removes all intelligence from them and they are drawn to you. For example today, three times I had a shot lined up on the enemy with the flag and each time some ***** on my team hits me just before I take the shot and I'm looking at a wall instead of the enemy or my shot sails right past them as I watch my tank slide along. No matter how far out of the way you are, they just seem to want to bump you just to prevent you from getting the kill. So many times I've had a bead on an enemy, I get bumped and the enemy kills us both. You see a Shaft with it's laser out, go AROUND the guy and don't sit in front of him. That happens a lot too. They'll just park right in front of you or jump in front just as you let a shot go and you shoot them instead of the enemy. At the mid ranks flame and freeze virtually vanish. I'm starting to see them return lately, but for a long time you rarely saw them. They can be effective in close range battles. If you can get too the enemy they are good in long range battles also but I wouldn't recommend them. Long range turrets pick them off with ease. If you do not use a light hull you never get close enough to the enemy, if you do use a light hull they kill you too easily. You have to be in the middle of them to do damage. Paints like Storm that are good against them show up early in the NCO ranks and make you extremely vulnerable. Isildas can be make or break in team games and CTF. You get 3 or 4 Isildas teamed up, they can be really difficult to kill. You have to start picking off the farthest one and work your way in because they keep healing each other. Isildas also have a sort of brotherhood. They'll team you and play on your team. Players with other turrets will seek your company also. So I'd recommend the Isilda. Don't try to keep up multiple turrets. That was a mistake I made. Once you get past the NCO ranks you cannot keep multiple turrets upgraded without putting a lot of money into the game. Play just one turret and hull and get really good at that combo. When your upgrades start costing 15k per incremental upgrade, even if your pouring money into the game they get quite expensive. Get you a couple paints for the map. A good paint against long range turrets, especially Shafts is important for Isildas. Shafts are your worst enemy with an Isilda. Rail guns next. And a good close in paint for close in maps. That's going to give you the most bang for the buck.

    Tanki X — Discussions

It already is. Once past the lower ranks you can't compete without pouring money into the game. WAY too much money. Most paid games are cheaper than what it takes to upgrade anything. If you pay full cost it's something like $100 to just buy a paint that's useful at Major or Lt Col. If you try to save up that's a month or so of crystals. Mean time your hull and turret get so weak you cannot even get crystals any more because you cannot kill even weaker players in the games your allowed to join. So what's the point? Wish I had the last money I put into the game back. I regret spending a penny on this game.

    Ideas for Game Modes!

Tanki has a lot of good ideas. I love where the graphics are going. The invasion mode sounds like it'll be wicked but the game is so seriously unbalanced that I have lost interest in playing. If I ever log in again, it will probably be one of the last times. It's INSANE that so many players 2 and 3 ranks below me can kill me with a single shot in an M2 Viking but I have to shoot them full power shaft 2 or 3 times to kill them. I can expect that from people who out rank me 2 or 3 ranks but people way below me? I wasted probably $200 on this game. I'd need $200 a week to keep up with those kinds of upgrades. Every day I don't spend I get farther behind. On top of that they buy supplies by the hundreds and drug and drug. I might as well not even waste my time since I cannot afford to buy supplies at the rate they do and I cannot make up for it with skill. I'm a good tanker. I play every day. I'd happily put $20-40 a month into the game. I cannot afford that really, but if nobody paid there would be no game. But I don't have hundreds of dollars to throw in and there is no way to get better. It doesn't matter how many times I shoot them, they just need to hit me once and I'm dead. Doesn't matter what turret they use any more. I'll admit my M2 is new, but who has the crystals to upgrade much? Takes me 2 to 3 days, to do an upgrade below 15. 15-20 I'm lucky to get an upgrade a week. Above 20 forget it, only time I can do those is when I advance a rank. Then I have to pick between hull or turret. I can't upgrade both. It's 10k of crystals to upgrade anything now. Thats a week or more of crystals to make ONE upgrade. The people I am playing against are doing upgrades every day apparently. It's VERY frustrating to try to find a game where I am not badly outclassed any more in hull and turret.

    TOP 5 Underrated Paints

I'm a major right now. I'm actually planning on buying the Honomolah o however you spell it because Ricochets are the bane to my existence. I play with a shalt primarily, Twins and Isilda sometimes. With all 3 of them, in a Viking, the Ricochets just eat my lunch. Neither Jolly Roger or Storm offer any protection. 2 or 3 shots and I'm usually dead. Especially since there seems to be some unwritten rule that Ricochets must drug. Seeing one without double damage just seems odd. They are all over the battlefields I play on (Madness, Krunger, Hiwways, Polygon, Madness, Rio, etc. ) Even the rare times I play Monte Carlo there's usually one or two in that game too. Freeze I do not see much of any more. It was common in the upper NCOs and lower ranks of officer. See them from time to time now but go entire deals without seeing one. Flames are also becoming rather uncommon. Lots of Shafts, rail guns, twins, Isildas, thunders, smokeys and hammers though. In the Shaft I need to survive long enough for a Twin or Ricochet who gets in close to kill them. Other shafts are not such a big deal. If they are using double damage I'm dead no matter what paint I have. If not I will survive if they are not super advanced. A paint isn't going to help me much either way against Shafts. Rail guns it'd be nice to have protection against them. Vulcans are uncommon but can be a real pain if they have maxed out paint and hulls. However the Ricochets are what are killing me on the battle field right now. I'm not sure whats common at upper ranks but if I do not find a solution to ricochets I might not make the upper ranks lol. They are beyond annoying and everywhere.
