If you really want a Fortress kit, think about buying (on the sale if possible) a Hunter M2 which unlocks at your next rank. You will get a good M2 hull which will last you long. Then you have 2 ranks of playing to save for the Fortress.

Hi! You should buy it if you really like to play with this turret. When you rank up you can pair it with Hunter. Hunter has good turning speed which can help you to faster turn your turret when firing (IMO that is very important for Vulcan). Vulcan and Hunter M3 unlocks late so you can even consider to fully MU both during that period. Vulcan has far range but is very weak at long distance - but at mid to close is very strong. When you are driving and enemies are moving as well is not that easy to aim. M2 can shoot for quite a long time before it overheats. Best thing is if you are already in a cover before you have to stop shooting. I am overheating my Vulcan only when i am facing Fire, Isida (you will lose almost ever)... and when chasing the flag stealer or helping the teammate. That is nice - you can decide when is worth to self destruct. If you think there is something better then maybe you should not buy a Vulcan. I am playing with a Vesuvius for last 3-4 rank and i love it. I do not have experience with Hunter M2 but IMO should be better with Vulcan then Viking.
