Steam on Linux? Sure! There's even a Debian fork called SteamOS - check it out!

I spent all my crystals on kits, so no XT for me... Unless, of course, I'll be lucky enough to get it as a reward for daily super mission. :)

Both of these have very useful information, thanks!

What's the chance of getting the XT Super Daily Mission?
Gizzmo replied to Gizzmo in What's the chance of getting the XT Super Daily Mission? Archive
I apologize if this was asked before, but how often do Generalissimos get the the XT missions? Is it like "one out of 30k gizmos gets an XT mission every day, guaranteed" or "there are weeks when no one gets such a mission and there are days when 5+ gizmos get an XT mission"? Similar question - does it depend on the player's activity? I mean, I haven't missed a day playing tanki in the last year; does that mean that (since I am "hooked" already) I won't see an XT mission, unlike some other, less interested, players... Thanks! -
I've hit this bug: XP points earned in the Rio DM map count towards DM mission, but not towards Rio mission. Didn't know that yesterday... Well, I'll change it today for free. :D

Thanks, ELIZABETH1122! You do have a great point, and I like it a lot! I do use lists, such as this (source), to see which paint I need in any particular battle, and you are correct - it does give me an advantage. Best "drugs" in my garage are Savanna, Emerald, and Jade, to name a few; swapping them in a battle really helps! While I agree that implementing my idea would disable this advantage for me, I do not really care as not everyone can afford Zeus, Graffiti or Clay (hmm... why these three?). Furthermore, by enabling us to sort paints in a way I described would help TO sell more paints - see my explanation in the UPDATE portion of the topic. P.S. "We may as well let the computer play the game for us..." - a couple of kids asked me to play for them so I had to explain that it defeats the purpose. Now they know better, but I am sure that if they could use a computer at that time to play for them, they totally would! So, while I laughed at first, I understand that, unfortunately, you are closer to truth than even you may think... :(

If you are here because there's nothing else to do you may want to move on; this will be a looong post. You've been warned! :) Hi everyone! I think it would be great for players to have ability to sort modules in their garage not based on module price (crystal value), but based on protection they offer against a turret a player is seeking protection from. Let me illustrate this. Let's say I have all modules in my garage (scroll to the UPDATE below to see a real-world scenario) and in a particular battle Ricochet is giving me troubles. At one point my tank gets destroyed so I make a decision to quickly swap modules. When I get to my garage I know that the best protection against Ricochet is offered by Clay (50%). I am in luck because it's easy to find - it is third in the list. I quickly swap modules and get back into the battle ready to face all Ricochets in the world! But what if the second turret that bothers me most is Firebird? Then the next best module which protects me against Ricochet (33%) and Firebird (15%) is Spark. If I want a better protection against Firebird than Ricochet then I'd choose Loam (Firebird - 36%, Ricochet - 10%). But they are # 31 and #26 on the list respectively so I need to scroll a long way to the right. Additionally, I either need to know this ahead of time, or I need to click on each module in the list until I find one that offers me acceptable protection. And this process of scrolling through modules and comparing protections while in the battle is anything, but a quick process... There needs to be a mechanism where players have the ability to sort modules in their garage based on protection offered against up to four turrets players can select at any moment. I envision this as eleven buttons player can click on (press/depress) to indicate which turrets they would like to have protection against. Since different screens have different real-estate available then these buttons cannot be lined up from left to right, they'd need to be grouped as two columns with six rows in each (twelfth button can be "Clear" or "Reset") in a space about equal to (or slightly less than) the space of the very left module in the garage. Additionally, I envision these buttons stationary so when a player scrolls through the list to the right the buttons stay still, or can be called back easily, say on a pull-out tab, without the need to scroll back. Check the three scenarios under the spoiler which, hopefully, will make my point easier to understand: Few notes about all of the above: Please let me know how viable my idea is. UPDATE: In my opinion there are economical gains to be earned by the Tanki Online as well. As noted by generalpotato_PRO below, currently modules are grouped in three big groups: 1) modules that the player owns, 2) modules the player may purchase (regardless if s/he can afford those or not), and 3) modules that will be unlocked as the player ranks up higher. That should stay the same, however, within each group modules should be sorted according to the above logic. As a player enters the garage in the middle of a battle, the player can quickly check if there is anything available at his/her rank (modules in group #2) that offers a better protection that what the player currently has and, possibly, purchase that module on the spot! Implementing my idea would help players see which modules they can buy right now, in this very battle, with the protection they need; and that will help TO sell more modules. I know, cruel, yet still helpful for those who can afford buying modules. :)

Please answer these two questions as I have exactly the same ones :)

I've used a few laptops: - Lenovo ThinkPad T430 - Dell Latitude e6430 (essentially same thing as above, just repackaged) - Dell Latitude e6440 (slightly updated version of the previous one, using it right now) All run hot, but give me great fps (over 30). WiFi is laggy at times; best to use Ethernet.

New Year Celebration goodies are waiting for you in-game

I wish I'd read more about gifts before buying one. I was under impression that they will receive crystals according to the amount of my gift, but no... Good bye 10k crystals... I wish I'd give my friend tanker a $10 Starbucks card - would be a much better gift... On a similar note - can I get my 10k crystals back?
