1. Drones are literally just another type of drug except more expensive and less effective.
2. We should have been able to switch modules out from the beginning, it's pretty damn late now because I'm sure everyone already faced this problem and had to pay more just to switch out one protection type.
I swear I don't know why I keep expecting updates to be good and not just make another way for players to spend money on stupid crap that people who pay can buy a ton of and win every battle. The only good updates I've been seeing (I.E. mission chains, module separation, players who fight the best win a good reward no matter what team they are in) are things that should have been there from the beginning, but we can't even seem to get that without a catch:
1. Mission chains no longer kick you back a whole week, but now it's harder to complete missions thanks to matchmaking.
2. Module separation is extremely useful, especially to me as I have legacy protection modules that I still use but not as effectively as I could if I spend an extra 250k, but now we have to deal with a new type of drug that people are sure to spam the hell out of to get #1 in every battle, and, in turn I now have to spend crystals to keep up.
3. You get a decent reward if you play well, but now you can't see the battlefund, and you can't choose which team you're part of (granted, the old system was absolutely horrible, and probably worse than matchmaking is now.).
Also, if Tanki devs didn't know that people prefer the old mechanics post matchmaking update, they wouldn't have locked it behind another paywall in pro battles, this may not affect me, but probably is a big thing for a lot of lower ranks who don't make that much crystals, and who can't afford to drug every battle, and if at some point we actually get to complete missions in pro battles, I'm sure Tanki is going to come up with an extra mechanic that makes things worse/more difficult to compensate for it.
I do really miss when updates actually introduced mechanics into the game without making another way to spend money, I believe the last time that happened was before the rebalance of 2015. It seems we're spiraling down a hole that will only end with this game becoming a complete cash grab. At this point, I'd rather pay money to buy the game out right and not have to deal with EA-like microtransactions thrown in my face all the time. To me, the game is not lost to money just yet, as I've seen FTP games turn into that, but it's going to end up there pretty damn soon at this pace.
