TankiOnline and my thoughts on how this game should be improved.

I feel like this game needs to be improved in a lot of different ways. More importantly I feel like the priority list the developers have is in the wrong order. For starters, any graphic related update was a long long long time ago. Years ago. The last major update was when they added things like particles and fog in update 1.1, which was released in Setpember 6, 2012. That's nearly 6 years ago. Since then nothing really new has been added in terms of graphics and animations. Simply put this game doesn't really have anything moving other than the tanks themselves. However, some turrets do have little animations such as Vulcan and Magnum, as well as a fairly noticable movement in the treads of the tank. Some other animations include isida's beam. Everything else, from the map to the skybox, are simple layers of images with nothing really interesting going on. And for the next few years nothing really came up. There were many many updates, such as the new guns (Shaft, Striker, Magnum) as well as a few new maps, but nothing in the graphics department. Until <<Overdrive>> This was pretty cool to be honest. The animation was really enhanced, and it also marked an important change in how the game was played. Players could no longer "solo" an entire team simply by spending money on micro-upgrades and supplies, but had to cooperate with their team to use their overdrives correctly and effectively. And let's be honest, the animation for Overdrive is pretty cool. A glowing burst of blue and green essence? Pretty cool indeed. The next big update was..... <<Animated Paints>> When I first saw this in the VLOG, I was pretty excited. Up until then i really hadn't played TankiOnline seriously in a long while. I maybe played once here, maybe an hour on the weekend, etc. But this really sparked my interest. All of a sudden we had a large change that could really make players feel like they stood out. Paints had, lost their feel, and players were no longer "wowed" by an expensive and rare paint as much as before. But the only problem was, animated paints cost a huge amount of money for what they really were. Animated paints typically came from special bundles that came during events. And these could cost anywhere from 30 - 60 dollars (USD). And even so, these animations were fairly bad in my opinion. Many of the paints such as Flow, didn't really have anything special going on. It was just a couple of moving lines that bounced back and forth. And let's be honest, animated paints are really just a way that Tanki could get a little bit extra from the player community. Many updates are incredibly unfair to players who want to earn their way up the ranks, not by paying, but through skill. But as many veteran players can agree, Its impossible for a team of standard m2's to beat a player who has spent hundreds to get the best equipment, and micro upgrade to m3. There is simply a huge, incomprehensible gap between free-to-play, and pay-to-play players. It is far to easy for a single player to dominate, even with the enemy team coordinating Overdrive. My final thoughts? I feel like instead of adding and spending resources on things like new turrets, or new gamemodes like the recently released Juggernaut, I would like to see improvement on the original game itself. Add newer animations, maybe an explosion for everytime a tank is destroyed? Or maybe a more vibrant, and glowing sky, radiating heat, on the players below. Or possibly in maps like Gravity, Polygon, or Madness, instead of simply falling off the map perhaps add more interesting aspects, like maybe a deserted Moon base at the bottom of Madness, or a black hole, slowly swallowing up a nearby planet. Or what about the actual players themselves? Maybe add reload animations for guns like Railgun or Shaft. Perhaps a large bullet case could pop out? Or maybe for guns like Ricochet, maybe add a significant glow that leaves a trail of molten magma in the air as the tank whizzes by. Or maybe just improve the gameplay itself. Perhaps make the game entirely free to play? Everyone can easily play at the same level as each other. with only cooler and epic cosmetics to spend their money on. This can easily work as well if the developers wanted it to be this way. Many games such as Fornite rely on this method. Have the entire game completely free, but add insanely cool skins and cosmetics to make the players feel awarded. Now granted, I do of course understand that there are limitations on the graphics due to this game being majorly dominated by flash and being a browser game. But what happened to the html5 version? What's the news about that? Or what about the downloaded client. Surely the developers could integrate higher end settings for more higher end computers. And I should also put my thoughts in about Tanki X. This game has far more graphical settings, and much much more improvements on the gameplay itself. While I haven't played this game for long, simply put, Tanki X provides much more "feel" and provides a much smoother gameplay. Perhaps instead of making a whole new game, the developers could've combined the two? Perhaps leave tankionline an online browser based game, but have TankiX the more improved game for higher end computers and have the two games cross compatible? All in all, I feel like TankiOnline hasn't grown to what I expected it to be when I first started this game in 2013. This game hasn't attracted a fairly large player base as it could have, and I feel like simple changes could easily make this game far more popular.. Thanks for reading!! -
