Well, I can't express how disappointed I am that the devs have ignored all feedback from their customers and have decided to push ahead with this awful "rebalancing". My friend gave up on Tanki a week ago when the rebalance was announced. I was more optimistic and thought the devs would see sense. I haven't missed a daily mission for months... I have played every day. But I have played Tanki for the last time. Good bye everyone! Thanks for all the fun! Good luck to all those people continuing to play "Tanki Bland". New Tanki slogan: Where every tank is the same. KODigging!

I posted these comments to the Survey… reposting here for peer review :) Dear TankiOnline The hull changes are really really bad idea. The variations between hulls add character and interest to Tanki. Hull variety allows players to choose the speed/protection balance which matches their play style. And allowing players to develop a play style which takes advantages of hull attributes. Mushing all the hulls into 3 classes with minor differences takes away so much of the strategic fun of Tanki. The Wasp/Hornet changes in particular are appalling. These two hulls will become practically identical, eliminating the option for players to choose a really weak but really fast hull if they can develop a strategy to take advantage of that hull. When you say "wasp and hornet are too weak"… well that's the idea of these hulls! Players choose these hulls when they play with a strategy which involves racing to flags and zooming off or dashing around the map making themselves impossible to hit. And the heavy hulls are supposed to be heavy! And Slow! This is the character of the hull. I can see some need to make Titan a little weaker and faster, make it more of an intermediate hull between Dictator and Mammoth. But Mammoth is great as it is… a slow, hulking mass of impenetrable steel. Making it weaker and faster takes interest and character out of the game. These changes eliminate that whole class of strategy. I think you are making a type one error here with the hulls. You are starting with the assumption that there needs to be a Light, Medium and Heavy hull. And every hull must be mashed into those categories. You would have much more flexibility if you eliminates "light/medium/heavy" from your thinking and instead had 7 hulls spread widely and evenly across the spectrum from fast and weak to slow and strong. And then add in the minor "spice of life" variations like the sliding hornet and the high mount point on dictator. Weapon changes… Firebird is way OP at M1 and M2. It really takes the fun out of the game when you're on a map with 2 or 3 firebirds and you just die and die and die. These changes do nothing to address that imbalance. In particular, range of Firebird must not be increased, this is a terrible idea!!! Lowering Freeze's rotation speed… well that's pretty mean. The way Freeze works is that you have to get around your opponent and rotation speed is critical to this manoeuvre. Isida changes look good, but the self-heal nerf looks pretty extreme! Twins M1 and M2 doesn't need more damage. Lowering the recoil will make it much harder to control acrobatics with Twins. Using recoil to stay horizontal when jumping off a bridge is one of the key features of Twins. There'll be lots of upside-down Twinners which is a pretty poor outcome. Ricochet rebalance looks nice. Smoky rebalance looks good. Vulcan doesn't need more damage either. Lowering the recoil is good, there is no logical reason why vulcan with its lots of tiny bullets should have such a massive recoil effect, this is a nice change. Thunder changes… probably Ok. Railgun… the slow reload time is an essential part of the character of this weapon. While Rail strength won't change overall, I think this change will reduce the character of the game. Shaft changes are good, snipers have it way too easy. I have no comment on the cool downs, I don't do drugs. Overall, this rebalance looks like it should be called "The Great Blanding". These changes will take a lot of variation out of Tanki, especially at the fast/weak and slow/strong end of the hull spectrum. I think you are passing up a great opportunity to really increase the variety and interest of the game. You will be causing yourself a lot of pain and in the long term loss of revenue, when you have the ability to make the game better, more interesting and more rewarding. Regards, KODigging.

Review [Special] The Balance Update: Assessment of Views
KODigging replied to Quarks in Newspaper Archive
We don't need light-medium hulls. We don't even need hull classes at all. We just need a range of hulls from fast and light to slow and heavy. Oh wait… just like we have now!! I would make Wasp lighter and faster. I would make Mammoth heavier and stronger. I would evenly spread the other hulls in the middle. I would delete all references to "light, medium and heavy" hulls. Give users lots of variety and allow them to match their hull to their play style. The turret re-balancing I quite like. I would nerf firebird harder because any game with 2 firebirds on the other team is a write off… just quit and find a new game. Way too strong. Other turret re-balancing isn't perfect but I think is an improvement. Digger. p.s. I agree that updates are supposed to make the game better. And I agree that this update will make the game worse. Much, much worse. I doubt I will continue to play after the update. Mashing all M3s into Marshall is complete nonsense. I cannot see any logic behind that at all.
