Oh, thank you for clearing it up mate

Buying the 4th protection slot is the best choice. I think you should upgrade Tesla protection. Those electroball guys are everywhere

With all due respect, I hate you & your kind (mine planting magnums)

Hey, thanks for replying. I have 2GB RAM in total. Didn't know that HTML5 required more memory.

Finally, a tread that addresses the issue I've been facing forever...! @Neebiru Thank you so much for bringing this up. My special thanks to @ThirdOnion for this resourceful explanation. I'm very grateful for all the time & effort you've spent to look into this. I don't think even Tanki devs have cared about this problem this much. I knew a lagging problem with player count exist, but lacked the knowledge & resources to understand it. You've explained it so well. My desktop, i3-3220 is running Windows 8.1 Pro with in-built GPU & 2GB RAM (crappy, I know). The PC is almost a decade old, but it could run the flash version of Tanki as smoothly as butter. They released HTML5 & I can't play even in mid-size maps. As you said, the lagging increases (exponentially, I think) with player count. I only play in 3 maps: Sandbox, Waves & Hill (because these maps house max 4 players per team). I can create private battles in the largest maps & roll everywhere in the map when only I'm in the map, but it becomes unplayable when others are there. By the way, I could play that fire-wasp mode in Polygon during the celebration. Others are meh... Following is what happens when I enter a battle (except for above 3 maps). I click to enter a battle. I'm being sent to the map. The screen freezes at a single frame & stays frozen for few seconds. I can hear a continuous noise from a hull or a turret (that happened to be near my spawn point, I guess) The screen changes to another frame & stays frozen. Then to another frame & stays frozen. This happens for about 2 minutes. Screen freezing finally ends & FPS becomes something like 30. Then everything happens smoothly. I can't do damage...! I reload the page (or close the window & open Tanki again, if playing via client), the above-mentioned freezing stuff happens again and, again I can't do damage. I can patiently wait 2 minutes for all the freezing stuff to happen. But what's the point of waiting if I can't do damage no matter what I do. It's so frustrating. Something I've noticed is that, damage stops after a huge freeze. I play a battle just fine & have fun killing enemies, screen freezes out of nowhere, screen becomes normal again, I can't do damage. Doing things like activating overdrive/supplies & even shooting can sometimes trigger a screen freeze. As you said, this looks like a software issue from Alternativa's side. But I'm 100% sure that they will never address this. I mean, this issue was there ever since they released the HTML5 version, but they haven't done anything regarding this. Before anyone asks, yes, I have tried cleaning cache & stuff. It doesn't work. Also, I'm using a good fiber connection with no VPNs. So, network isn't the problem.

The OP didn't say anything about copy-pasting the code. Devs decided to create this existing HTML5 UI that everybody hates. They could've created it look just like the flash version, but they chose not to. Devs can create a flash-like UI anytime they want & add a button like OP said. It's not easy & obviously it can't be done by copy-pasting the code, but it's not impossible. Will it bring back the players who left the game already.? That's a different question. I think many old players are fed up with money hungry Alternativa & won't come back to play TO seriously. It'll be a surprise if this game makes it to the end of 2021

Yes, that's exactly what's happening now

If you can't afford a PC that can play the HTML5 version smoothly, then you're not at all a potential buyer. Someone who can't afford a such a PC definitely doesn't have money to buy in-game items. So, Alternativa just doesn't care about such players. Over the past several months, Alternativa was trying very hard to make as much as money from the game and they're pushing the P2W concept very hard. This has now become a game that you can't enjoy if you don't spend hundreds of dollars here every 2 or 3 months. Non-buyers & light-buyers can barely compete against heavy-buyers. There's no quality stuff in Tanki anymore, just a sinkhole that eats money...!

Goodbye dude

Forcing players into HTML5 version is nothing wrong, given that flash is a dying platform. But the problems arise when you don't care about players' opinions. That HTML5 thing is laggy as hell, not optimized for low-end PCs, slow, literally slow I mean, we hate that UI etc. From what we players see, you really don't put any effort to fix these things. Take that slowness for example. You develop & test HTML5 version with high-end PCs in your HQ, but have you ever played it with a low-end PC.? I assume "no"..! You really don't care about what players think or feel about HTML5, you guys only care about money

It definitely is a mouse icon. That 0 in the middle is the scroll roll of mouse

Looks very cool & matching with graphics in HTML 5 version, but there's something that can be improved further. Some people don't like videos automatically playing in websites. So, it'll be better if you can introduce a small button at the top right (or left) corner of the website to allow the user to change the background to a still image. You click the button once, background turns into an image and you click it again, background turns into the video back

Isn't is easier to say Mk8.? That's one character less when typing and one word less when speaking -

This argument you mentioned, started with me calling my Railgun & Hornet as Mk8. So, I'd like to take part in this discussion...! Here's the thing. Sometime ago, there was M numbering system & the highest modification was M3. We could upgrade it further & players called the fully upgraded M3 as M4, because it was just easier to call it like that. Just think about it. Which one of these is easiest to type &/or speak.? M3 plus Fully upgraded M3 M3 10 M3 upgraded to maximum M4 You can call this fully upgraded M3 with many names, but none of them wouldn't be as easier as M4 (when typing & speaking both). So, we chose that easiest way & called it as M4. Then devs introduced this Mk numbering system, its max stage was Mk7, so we converted M4 to Mk8. The number after the highest available upgrade. Makes sense, right.? There's something that we need to understand. Our ancestors invented languages to communicate with each other. Languages have evolved massively to provide us with much easier communication, ever since. That's the foundation of any language; easy communication. There's nothing as absolute right or wrong in languages. We say, Google it instead of saying search for it in the Google search engine. Why.? Because the former is much easier than the later. Same here in Tanki Online. We call it as Mk8 because it's easier that way. No big deal...!
