-make new layer -take brush and chose black as color (ofc xD) -brush parts of the image where shadow is necessary -Use Blending options to make it look digital... (Soft Light, Overlay) -adjust opacity

Its true that ur shadow looks like outline, dont use Drop Shadow feature Try adding shadows from brushes, not a professional editor but try this...

There r 2 ways lol Ask a spectator to take pics for you Use the Clone/Stamp tool to vanish the health and name

No need to use drop shadow option, just create a duplicate image of the tank, make it full black using color overlay option reduce opacity and move it under the original tank press CTRL and transform the image until you get the perfect shadow look! If you dont get this, maybe you need some time more to spend on photoshop?
