  1. I like spending about 1/2 of my time shooting targets from far, and the other half moving. I enjoy camping sometimes, but definitely would not consider myself a "camper." I love railgun, especially with the alt. thanks for your advice.

HI Friend! I have both railgun alts as well. I mostly use railgun and hunter as you know and love this combo! I hardly ever use the horizontal tracking alt precisely because of the decreased vertical aim. I found it very useful in Desert, but also found that switching it on and off wasn't helpful between maps as it was like I was playing with a different machine each time, and I can also turn the hull to increase speed of getting on target. Maybe I will have to reconsider and start incorporating more rocking. Your post has given me something exciting to think about. Thanks. There is probably a ton of potential skill I have not yet tapped into.
  3. I am just trying to plan future upgrades. In a few ranks, I can get M3 protection module for Griffon T-E (railgun, ricochet, shaft) or Kodiak T-A (firebird, railgun, thunder). I plan on fully upgrading one, but not both, so that when I become Marshall, I will then focus on M3 hull (Hunter) and Turret (railgun) fully upgrading these as well. Which protection module do you think will be most helpful at the highest levels? I mostly play with hunter/railgun combo and mostly like large to medium sized maps, but also like capturing plenty of flags and helping capture plenty of control points, etc.
  4. Thinking about this some more... I think Tanki should sell overdrive modules that can be equipped the same as turrets, protection modules and hulls. I also think what overdrive a person has should be visible to everybody on the same team, but no on the other team. Would help strategy and surprise. This way, people could use the hull they really like the best with an overdrive they like. Also, the overdrive could upgrade as well. This would be a win-win. Tank would make more, but also provide different overdrive options to people without people being ticked that hulls they love are going to have overdrives they don't like.
  5. I am disappointed by this new overdrive system and think it will lead to an unbalanced game. First off, I believe Dictator will have the best overdrive. By far. Lets's compare it to the other medium hulls first. Viking: faster firing rate. OK. But Dictator gives double power... so the DPS probably won't be that different. Furthermore, Dictator maximizes all other supplies at the same time. That said, the only situation I really see this being an advantage over Dictator's overdrive is with Viking's overdrive activated with double damage supply turned on at the same time, effectively quadrupling damage output. I could see this being very useful for snipers or those who shoot from a distance (railgun), and depend on structures hiding them, which already give better protection than double shielding anyway. . Hunter: Turn off the supplies of surrounding tanks. Dictator's overdrive benefits it strongly regardless of proximity to other players as it activates all five supplies. Hunter's ability on the other hand will only benefit if close to enemy. This overdrive will not be very helpful to players using weapons at some distance in an offensive manner such as Thunder or railgun. Further, this is purely a defensive overdrive... which depends on supplies having been activated by the other team... and then being close enough to de-activate. Lot of ifs here. If this overdrive is activated with no supplies around to deactivate, it is useless. Dictator on the other hand will always be beneficial to activate, regardless of when activated. Let's look at the heavy hulls. Mammoth: invincible with the touch of death. Great, but everybody will just run away. The slowest hull just became even slower. This will have its use to move campers off of a flag, or get a gold box, but given the very slow ability this has, I am not sure this is really gonna be of much benefit to teams. Titan: OK, this overdrive sounds cool for sure. I had the impression watching the VLOG on this that the forcefield shields won't move around though, in which case this would be strictly defensive. Again, no health, no mine, no double power. Overall, I think Dictator's is still stronger. Ok... now the light hulls. Hornet: One can see through walls, and the one that activates can shoot at other tanks without their protections being active. With good situational awareness, it is usually already quite easy to know where most of the tanks are at, so I don't think seeing through walls is going to be of a huge benefit. Also, if they have a protection against your turret (on average they won't since you only get max three protections) you will have usually just a bit more firing power towards them than usual (maybe significantly more firing power if they have 50% protection). I guess if they have double shielding activated, this will help, but again, lots of ifs. With Dictator's super power, the double damage already effectively gives one an even better benefit than only POSSIBLY taking away protection from another tank as with Hornet. Double damage from Dictator applies to all hulls. Wasp: I guess it remains to be seen the nature of this bomb. If it can destroy surrounding tanks and is even stronger than Magnum, this could absolutely be a game changer. If this only throws up a flash and has impact to move surrounding tanks... meh. Tanks such as railgun, thunder, smoky, etc. will still just shoot the wasp dead from a distance as it scampers away. And that's my take based on what the developers have said. I currently use railgun with hunter. A lot. I don't like Dictator because it is slower, despite the better shooting angles. I don't think hunter overdrive is going to be very beneficial to me, and I might have to change hulls, which I am not happy about. I don't usually purposely attack other hulls up close, so this overdrive will only benefit me if I am being attacked by another tank up close on supplies. This overdrive will be very useful for isida, firebird, freeze, hammer and possibly twins.... but no so much the other turrets. I guess maybe I can eventually switch back to using Viking. What these new overdrives are really about is getting people to get new hulls, despite already having well developed hulls. This is just about creating more profit. I doubt this is going to make the game better. EDIT: After giving this some more thought, maybe I am just reacting negatively to change. I am sure the developers have put a tremendous amount of thought into this. I guess we will just have to wait and see what this holds. The concept of Dictator acting like an actual Dictator, with team members congregated around it to benefit from its overdrive is appealing. Dictator will always have plenty of team mates to help with whatever mission or direction it is pursuing. As primarily a railgun player, the concept of Railgun damage potentially being quadrupled (double damage plus increased firing rate) is appealing to me, even though I like using Hunter much better than Viking. Maybe other advantages will come around as well. As a hunter railgun not being so easily killed by Isidas, firebirds or hammers on drugs may be appealing as well. Guess we will have to wait and see. One thing is for certain, this is going to really change the way the game is or can be played.

. For someone who uses railgun almost exclusively, I think it is worth it. Otherwise, crystals probably better spent elsewhere.

So, after using this for a few more days, I just about only use the horizontal tracking alt on Desert. Otherwise, I think the benefits of the increased vertical aiming probably off-set the decreased tracking speed, though perhaps not by much.

I hesitated getting the M1 Railgun alt but am glad I did. It makes a big difference (at least for me) in dueling situations. Guess it just depends on your playing style. I have noticed some further problems with vertical aiming, but it isn't as bad as I expected.
