2018 has been a glorious and wonderful year in my gaming career in Tanki Online. It was full of joy and I met lots of new friends. However, I did encounter setbacks and sorrows in Tanki Online in 2018. In Tanki Online, I not only improved my playing skills dramatically, but also grew up a lot and became more mature than I used to be. It played a very important role in my life in 2018.
Let’s start with my joyful moments in Tanki. Oh hold on, there is one thing that is more important than anything else. On 26th February 2018, ‘Tyranny’ was born. (Well this isn’t my first account in TO, in fact, it is my fifth account in TO. One was stolen, and the other 3 are all noob accounts. :()
After learning from previous experiences, I knew that crystals should be spent wisely at the beginning stage if you want to prosper. So I stuck to hunter-smoky combo, and later on titan-smoky combo, and with zero upgrades to my tank, I managed to reach Staff Sergeant in 8 days, with the highest k/d ratio of 16.3 (a nice thing to brag about :P). Then I bought my first m1 item in TO, mammoth m1, and later on, shaft m1. This is how I became a professional sniper :)
After I became a sniping player for some time, the newspaper team has organized a contest to celebrate its 6th anniversary - "Write for the Tanki Newspaper" Contest. I entered the ‘Guide’ contest, writing a guide on how to snipe effectively. And to my extreme surprise, I received the message from the admin:
"Hey there Tyranny! I bring you some good news and some bad news. First, the bad news; your entry was not selected to appear in the July Issue. But the good news is your entry has finished 3rd place in the Guide category!
Your entry will appear in the Write for the Tanki Newspaper Contest topic when the results are posted on June 6th.
Otherwise, you are free to post your article in the Amateur Writing Section for others to enjoy. Nice Guide and thanks for entering!"
That moment, I was dumbfounded. I can’t believe that I won the contest with my non-native language and writing skills! To me, that’s really an indescribable motivation to write more and play better in Tanki Online.

Another thing worth to mention is my survey project in Tanki Online. In May, I started a survey project with the help of some of my friends. (Thank you RevengeAttacker and BlitZ_Punisher) This project aims to explore statistics and facts that not everyone in TO knows, and to make suggestions for the game and help the officials of Tanki Online improve the game (This project is carried out with my previous account mwhahahahahahaha, a stupid name isn’t it? :(). It might also be useful to those who would like to quote data and statistics. In total, 6 surveys were conducted, and it was a pretty success. I received positive and encouraging comments both in the forum thread and the discord channel. However, as school was about to start, I have decided to end this project so as to focus on studies. But overall, it was a wonderful experience.

In mid-June (I remember vividly it was when I was having Final Exam), I joined the first event of TO in my career, and that was Lucky Gold Box event. Of course, I didn’t win that time, probably it was not good to play during exams haha! I won my first event in July, in a Space Runner event. That was quite easy with ricochet, in my opinion.
Oh yes! I nearly forgot about the war! According to the standard definition, the «War» was a global event in which factions battled it out for supremacy over the areas of a fictional world. This time, I was in Bears faction (Any bears here? :D). With the help of another friend, we created a discord channel for faction Bears. We managed to have 100 + English-speaking members. We discussed tactics for each turn, as well as shared screenshots of containers opening, and did a gold rain party for everyone after the war. Although we weren’t the winners, we won our friendship.
But still, I had sorrows. Throughout the year, I had been searching desperately for clans. I prayed ‘Please give me a chance to at least join a clan!’ and finally, my work paid off. A clan accepted my application. Yea, that was cool! But just for 5 days, then I got kicked for no reason. So I continued to find a clan which can accommodate me for a longer period of time. I asked for applications, I sent out so many badges, but only 2 – 3 clans responded. I was invited to join a clan again, but after a week or so, I was kicked again. This was really frustrating as you can imagine. And it really hurts when you find yourself being kicked for no reason.
Finally, in around October, I joined the clan ‘Broken’. As I helped to make the profile page of my clan, my contribution was highly recognized by the leader, and to my astonishment, I was promoted to the commander of my clan! That was one of the best experience in my TO career in 2018. I hope I can do more for my clan, and I am happy to say that my dream has come true!
One more thing to mention, in late November, I bought my 9th m2 item in TO – railgun m2. With hornet m2 which was bought from a kit, I can finally play the mode of XP. Yay!
So that’s my 2018 in Tanki Online. As 2018 is about to come to an end, I feel grateful for all the joyful and glorious achievements in Tanki Online this year. They will be my happy memories for the rest of my life. I am anticipating another glorious year with Tanki Online! 2019, I am coming!!!
