If you got a pc with a recent Nvidia gpu, I recommend getting GeForce Experience and using the built in screen capturer. It is free and has no watermark, and it features an Instant Replay mode, so you don't have to be recording at any time. If something epic happens, you can just hit the Instant Replay button and it will automatically save a video of the last couple of minutes(depending on how long you want, can be as short as 5 minutes). When you have Windows 10; that also has a built in screen recorder which is free and has no watermark. Just hit Windows + G and start recording. If you don't have either of those 2, I can recommend OBS, like many people did before me. It's also free without watermark, and you can crop your videos beforehand so you won't have to do that in an editor. Edit: All 3 mentioned programs also support livestreaming, if you want that.
