Masters of Parkour 2019 Winners announced!

Actually you are on the right track. We wanted to make the finals shorter and more entertaining but also more interesting for the participants. During the past two years we received overwhelming feedback that the "Russian" format is not well liked because Parkour is not about reproducing a trick as fast as possible but being creative and finding new ways. Thinking tactically and encouraging creativity was one of our main goals with these changes. I don't think it is a bad thing but like anything, new we didn't manage to find the right balance yet. All teams responded positively to the new format, they liked that they have more time to execute their trick, that they have to be creative and that time and attempts have a fairly low impact. Actually it didn't work well. Statistics proof it, the viewer numbers started to tank after the first half hour, a strong indicator that the finals are not interesting to watch. This year we managed to have an exceptionally stable viewer count during the entire stream. During the stream the viewer numbers were between 320 and 350. Conclusion, the stream was interesting to watch. But also on the participant side, the length of the stream forced some teams to give up mid stream because they had other obligations and some teams gave up after the first or second round because they thought it is impossible for them to win anymore. Having an elimination system with resetting points reduced the frustration on the team side if they didn't perform well. It also allowed teams who moved on to win because they had another chance. Keep in mind that we are required to do the entire final in one stream. Totally agree, the factors had too much impact and were too large. -

 Judges rated the trick of GTT MUCH better but the factor + not landing broke their neck. But thank you for the honest and well argued feedback. I am currently collecting all of it so we can improve even more next time.- 187 replies

 Easy, you didn't show the nicknames of all players. Specifically just check the first scene, you hid the nickname of the jumper. -

To keep it fair, it is necessary to make no exceptions. You had enough time to record and review the material before submitting your entry. -

I want to make this clear, it is YOUR responsibility to ensure YOUR entry follows the rules. You had enough time to evaluate the material and throw anything out that doesn't follow the rules. If your entry has been disqualified, the only thing to blame is YOUR negligence. No I can not share that info, it would be unfair to any other team. You will be able to request that information after the finals.- 187 replies

Actually only one team used skins, most teams got disqualified for hiding the player names in the videos. :) But yeah, reading the rules is a requirement :| -

Both as clearly stated in the topic: To be eligible to receive the prizes, players must participate in both stages — the video stage and the finals. -

International and Russian community have different organizers and concepts. If enough entries are exceptional but couldn't make it to the finals, we will give out consolation prizes. But we do not gurantee that they will include the MoP paint. -

This is a technical limitation of the game. The removal of the paint was unfortunately planned before the international schedule had been finalized, hence the paint will be removed before the international deadline ends. -

It is not just about being old and obsolete, the internet infrastructure itself is very brittle. There is a limit to what can be done to protect a system because everything relies on a huge number of uncontrollable factors.
