I have this problem where, when I play a video game (mostly any video game) for some time, (It might be to a short 5 minute to a long 2 hour) my computer freezes and I get a black screen. When I push restart, the black screen is still there, so I have to push on "Shut down", I think this is called a hard reset. Seems like you got most bases covered. Temperature is usually the culprit, but in this case it may just be the vid card itself. It sounds like corrupted VRAM. Check your even logs in windows and see if any odd errors come up.

You can typically reduce game lag by either lowering the performance settings for the given game or by upgrading certain parts on your computer. The amount of Random Access Memory (RAM) you have available and the quality of your graphics card are the two most important variables in providing a lag-free gaming experience. For online games, lag can also be caused due to Internet issues. If you are sure that your hardware is up to date, determine your ping in the games you are playing. If you have a ping over 200, then it can cause significant lag for you in your game. If you have low FPS, then the problem is likely hardware-related. Always update graphics card drivers. This helps insure that your GPU will get the performance it needs to run games.

If you’ve been using Firefox for a long time, you may have noticed it getting slower as time passed. Maybe it takes a few seconds to start up or takes a bit longer loading webpages. You might start noticing that it takes a second or so to switch between tabs or that the menu option doesn’t pop up instantly. Another easy way to make Firefox faster is to periodically clear the cache. By default, Firefox will cache the contents of most websites you visit, so that they load faster when you visit them again. In the short term, this works well and does speed up browsing, however, once the cache becomes very large, it can start to slow things down. - Check the speed of your Internet connection: SpeedTest

There could be several reasons why you aren't receiving your e-mail messages. Change the setting to the one you want. For example, click on Show All Messages to make sure you can see all your messages – old and new – in the Inbox.

Let me explain ـــــ When you upload a 800×600 screen capture video tutorial to YouTube, the quality deteriorates so badly that texts in the video are hardly readable. The reason is that YouTube regards everything smaller then HD video as a free license to shrink the video to a resolution of 480 pixels wide. Viewing it full screen doesn’t help, it even looks worse. The funny thing is, even if your initial screen capture is only 640×480, embedded in a HD video it will not be re-sized, although a smaller version will be shown on the initial page. As soon as you select HD in the setting list of the YouTube player, you get much better quality and if your visitor plays it full screen, it will be crisp and clear.

It looks like a black rectangle. :P And yeah, I'm not really fond of messy desktops and I have accustomed to use two screens at once.

Launch QuickTime Player. It’s located in your Applications folder, which you can access quickly by typing Shift-Command-A, then pressing the letter Q. Open a recording session. From the QuickTime Player File menu, select New Screen Recording. Click the red dot in the middle of the Screen Recording window. Determine the dimensions of the recording. You can click to begin recording, or click-and-drag to make a selection of just what part of the screen you wish to record. For this article, we'll select a smaller screen area. Keep in mind, the larger the selection, the more disk space the recording will require. Only select as much of the screen as you need. When you're ready to begin recording, press the Start Recording button in the middle of the selected recording area. Wait a few seconds. It will take a couple moments for the recording to begin. When you see the recording timer start counting, it's safe to proceed with the actions you are capturing. Note: Once recording begins, you will not be able to screen-capture the Recording controller. This is so it doesn't appear in your final movie!
