well wasp mk8 is mostly a disadvantage BECAUSE of its speed- hornet it more stable and less prone to flipping, though the whole buying thing way beyond your lvl has made tanki pay-to-win(at least until u get to end-game)

Yes, in fact in this game spawning can be used strategically either for the one being attacked or the one attacking. For example, if someone is attacking you while spawning you can merge into them and you won't spawn, this is especially useful when the opponent has a gun like rail, so he uses up his bullet and than you separate from them and kill them.
