    For me, smokey m3 was also much better then thunder m0. I had the smokey m3 for a pretty long time, when i got the thunder m0. Thunder m0 is powerful, but it turns so slow. Now I got used to turning turret independently from my tank and with thunder m0 this was virtually impossible in many battles because of its speed - I was too vulnerable in infights. So I returned to smokey m3 for another few weeks, until I could afford the thunder m1, which great. But of course, you've got to buy m0 before m1 :lol: Now, I also like the advantage of doing splash damage, but with m0 this effect does not balance your disadvantage in the close combats.

    Respawn time should not be shorter. Imagine a CTF battle fighting against an opponent which is outnumbering your team. The respawn times of your opponent could be your only chance to get a flag. Being on the other side, I accept my respawn times as a penalty for having my tank destroyed - It's ok and should not be shorter.
  3. I also noticed that battles with auto-balance activated, sometimes get really unbalanced. Here is a recent example and yes, this time the auto-balance icon is there: Blue side started with 2 players when red had 4 players. While blue had a maximum of 4 players and soon decreased to 3 for some time until I left, red went up to 6. So there are scenarios when balancing does not work well. Perhaps because of players trying to join a battle and leaving before their tanks becomes visible. Or because of multiple players entering almost simultaneously. I don't now the reason, but it happens.

    Keys q and e also work. These might be a little faster for the fingers than also pressing the fn key. In some maps, I change camera position almost every second, so fast access is important :)

    What Makes A "Good" Match?

    I voted for "A fair, balanced, and challenging game regardless of the outcome". The perfect battle for me also includes a good portion of team spirit. Team speak, where everybody can participate, is great - I really wish more players had this in mind and sometimes switched the language to be understood by non native speakers. Battles with strategy are great. If it's a fair battle, I have no problems with leaving without crystals, but of course, I don't need power dopers or a few high ranks entering 10 minutes before finish after a 2 hours fight.

[X] It's acceptable No, I'm not absolutely satisfied with the payment system. It is acceptable for me. I will not use PayPal. I trust more in SMS buy, which seems to work for now, after several problems in the past. However, for the same money, you will get less crystals via SMS than by PayPal. So for me, it's option five which is not on the list.

    The Hall of Fame button removed

    Even though slow, I liked the hall of fame and I like to have something similar back. The idea with pages sound cool. At least, a statistics page should be possible with very few effort.

    I also sometimes use the google translator. Unfortunately, I cannot copy text from in-battle chat. So it's impossible to translate messages from others players while in battle. You might argue that it's still possible to copy the text per hand. However, this is not possible for languages using different letters and frankly, in battles - copying per hand takes much to much times. Sometimes, i feel that a little more international spirit e.g. by using languages like english might help players to better understand each other. I think, more players understand and speak english than we see in chat. By the way, english is not my mother tongue and yes, i'll do mistakes - so what?

    I don't like the idea very much. First, you should make a decision about your target with every single shoot. If you destroy the tank of a friend, then because you targeted at him. Just watch what you are doing with your virtual weapons :D Second, it can become annoying for your team in CTF battles, if your friend in the opponent team gets the flag and you let him/her get away without even trying the get the flag back. Your team mates might want another button to kick you, at least if the majority of votes in your team agrees ;) (By the way, this second button is something you find in games like Urban Terror.)

    Strange rating changes

    I observed some really strange jumps in my rating: + Before two days, i left with a rating of about 30500. When i logged in yesterday, my rating was about at 29800. + When i logged of yesterday, my rating was about 29500. Today when i looked at my rating after a first battle where i got about 400 point, 12 crystals and kill ratio about 2.5, my rating dropped to 32500. Can anyone explain these high jumps? I mean, fluctuations by a few hundred points, when not playing 16 hours is just the result of other players playing. 3000 is pretty hard to explain that way or what do you think?

    Regarding MAC computer.

    Like MadDog, I'm using Safari for playing Tanki on a Mac. While usually surfing with FireFox, the FPS rate with FireFox and Opera was just to low in certain maps. With Google Chrome - which I tried about 3 month ago - the FPS rate was good, but for whatever reason, I could not pick up flags and power kits sometimes.

    Strange vote: What does the outcome of this vote mean to the actual number of American players? Perhaps there should be a vote asking for a players home country offering options like: Russian, American, Arab, Canadian, German, France, Italian, etc. For the internal statistics of TankiOnliny, I can imagine that they already have a pretty good picture of the distribution by country based on the players' IP addresses. If so, perhaps they like to publish these statistics - it would be interesting.

    Let's discuss the Shaft gun!

    Fire rate of the shaft start with 4.3 shots per minute for upgrade level m0 and goes up to 5.7 shots per minute with upgrade m3. At least this is, what i see when reading the shaft description in the garage. So following a calculation, there should be at about 10.5 seconds between two shots of a tank with a shafts m3 and even 14 seconds between two shots of a shaft m0. However, i already encountered several tanks fighting with shaft with only about 5 or 6 seconds between two shots of their shaft. Has anyone experienced something similar? What is the explanation? Is this a cheat?

  16. That JotForm stuff runs completely in the browser and without any special add-ons or mail program. In the example, you open a web page, enter data in a form, press submit and the information is sent to a mailinator web address or any other address configured when creating the JotForm page. To collect the entered information, just read the mail. I don't know, what runs on the server hosting these JotForm pages, but here is nothing you need to download and install explicitly on your computer. Yeah, I now it's stupid simple, but noobs in dire need of crystals may become victims of despair.

    MO THUNDER OR M3 TWINS??

    As ELain_3S said: M0 thunder can be disappointing, because it turns sooo sloow. I had smokey M3 and then bought thunder M0. I tried the thunder a couple of times and then returned to the smokey. However, when i finally got enough crystals for thunder M1, i moved to thunder and it's great. Just comparing the twins M3 and thunder M0, my choice would be for the twins - at least for a couple of weeks. Personally, I prefer the powerful long-range weapons over the short-range weapons, so for the long term, my favorite is the thunder. But this depends on your battle style.

    Beware of any crystal promises which are not made by Tanki itself. Day by day different players post links like "Get xxx crystals for free" where xxx might be any number, 1000 or 10000 or whatever you like. Interesting enough the referred web pages contain a form asking for player's nick, password and email address. Anything you need to steal an account. Quiet often, those links refer to a site called JotForm. So i got interested and what i found was that it is surprisingly easy for everybody to create such account grabber pages in just a few minutes. No prior knowledge is required and you remain completely anonymous. I did the following example in about 5 minutes and i never used JotForms before. If you like to try, do not enter anything important - do not enter your account information.     If radar enters the game, we have to think about options of maintaining the balance of gameplay. The option of hiding is important to give lower-level players a little chance when attacking players with very powerful tanks and weapons. Camouflage paints or drugs could be appropriate tools to maintain this balance. I like the idea that very large maps could become more interesting when playing with very few players. Perhaps make radar work pretty vague for short distances and increasingly better for longer ranges. I think, the idea could work, but we need such extensions. There are also other parameters for the quality of the radar image. Image quality could not depend on range only, but also on buildings, trees, level of terrain etc. E.g. there could be a certain probability that tanks behind or inside building are not shown by the radar or only by higher level radar. Tanks could become visible, if certain weapons are used etc. If multiple tanks would be very close to each other, lower level radar could not be able to distinguish these tanks because of lower resolution. In any case, i would consider radar a good option for large maps only, like Berlin, Kungur etc. and not for rather small maps like Fort Know, Silence or smaller.

    I guess the big difference between adding Arab language and a language like German is that Russian, English and German are pretty much the same from a developer's point of view. The effort for adding German should have been mostly a translation of text, perhaps very few graphics with text and configuration of the web server to route traffic to the new URL to the german resource files. As it looks to me, there aren't different servers for different languages at this time. Distinction is made just by the URL. You can see this when comparing battle lists or numbers of logged on players for english and german. I haven't compared russian and english, but i guess it's the same. For adding Arab language, I guess developers needs to be involved because of the different text direction and perhaps because of different character encodings. I also guess, there aren't very much free developer resources in the Tanki team, because most of them are likely to work on Tanki 2.0. Remember Tanki 2.0 was postponed and certain features in Tanki 1 like the hall of fame are also open issues. From a developers' point of view, I can understand the current priorities pretty good.

    Why hate the Arabs?

    Don't imply hate to be the reason for Tanki developers to decide which language to support. Enjoy the game as it is, enjoy new languages as they come. I like the idea that Tanki developers encourage suggestions. There will be many ideas and I understand that developer resources are limited. I don't like the idea of demanding and making charges against the tanki team only because not everything will be implemented. I live in Germany, but for me it's natural to use English in international forums since many people understand this language at least a little. So I would not have missed the German language. I have no idea, how many Arabs, Muslims, Germans, Russians, Chinese, people of whatever origin or religion are playing this game - and it doesn't matter. Size of these groups is probable not the only reason for selecting one language or another to be supported by Tanki. I never would have get the idea that hate could be a reason for choosing. I find it highly questionable when mixing demands with allegations like this. It's offending and your words bear the danger to generate what you are objecting. Personally, I think that making suggestions should NOT follow the pattern: "Why do you hate me? If not, do what I want and do it now..." This is just bad style. Imagine what you would think, how you would feel, if someone would ask you for a favor that way...

    Is this a good idea or not? It sounds interesting, but I don't think, this would be a good idea, because of the balance between the players. There are vey strong long-range weapons and very strong short-range weapons. Most players can only afford one good weapon. Take such a player with a short-range weapon: He needs to carefully approach an opponent with a long range weapon and very often gets hit anyway - the player with the long distance weapon has an advantage. If the player with the short-range weapon finally gets close enough to attack it's opponent, the advantage shifts to the close-range player - and this is his chance. If the player with the long-range weapon, could easily switch to short-range, the player that only has a short range weapon would be tricked. Players with only one weapon bring highly different characteristics into the game, which makes the game interesting. If all players come with short-range and long-range weapons - and this is what we are talking about when talking about primary and secondary weapons - this interesting aspect of fighting against tanks of very different character would become smaller - at least, this is what i think.
