Thunder + Hornet

 

 

General Info

Hornet and Thunder is a unique combination. As many say, it does not work out good. In my oppinion, I like it and think it's perfect. Speed and mid-range damage is not a bad combination. There are some weaknesses, I give you that, but there are advantages also that not many have heard of. The thunder gives damage and knockback, while the hornet is evasive. While dealing with Thunder and Hornet users, most players don't use basic thing of "skill" and "tactic" with it. Now I will show you some strategies of this combination.

 

Camping

Hornet and thunder can also be used for camping, it may be better camping with a Mammoth with Thunder, but yes you can use hornet for it, if you don't have mammoth or if you hate it. The abillity of hornet is that is can come out real fast, blast an enemy, then quickly hide. A hornet and Thunder can do this in 1 second, making use of hornet's great speed abillity. Also another good thing is, when you hit them, their gun would tank would tilt a little do the side, causing them to miss, since you hornet is a small tank, and hides back real fast. However with mammoth, the enemy will quickly re-aim itself towards you and blast you while you are reversing into the camping spot. Also, don't be too crazy with hornet and thunder, you will flip. Resistance Against Twins

Now, many Thunder Hornet user Warrant Officer 1 or 2's use this combination, but struggle to resist the enemy of the M3 Twins with a Hornet. Every combination has a weaknes, you just have to find it in each one. Now, how to stop them is 1, never roam around in huge open areas. Thunder is very weak there, the twins will own you. Just hang around near buildings, and walls. If there is a nearby buillding the first thing you should do, is calculate wether you can make it to the building before you die. If the building is still a fair distance away, say about 40m, don't bother about it, you won't achieve anything running towards a bulding which you won't make it to. Instead, you should spin your gun around, keep backing off, but blast the front of one of the enemy tracks, which will jerk the tank away to the side, causing at least two of the twin bullets to miss. This will save you about 14 health. Don't shoot the middle of their tank, it won't do much they will miss maybe once, but then turn back into position and start smashing you again. Now if you are near a building, around about 20m away, ignore the enemy and just reach it. When you around it place a mine just around the corner of it, hopefully the enemy will hit it and die. Now, if you don't have mines, or the enemy dodges it, as the enemy turns around a corner, and you are about half a lap around the building infront of him, camp on the corner next from his, when he is just turning, shoot him, and continue on making laps. Then do it again once your thunder is charged. Keep doing it untill the enemy is destroyed. Good luck.

Vsing another person with the same combination

Now this is one of the most popular combinations for Warrant Officer 1's, as you will come across others who use it. With this, you should make use of tactic and speed. Shoot him as soon as you see him, if he has not already shot you. Now he will turn around from the shot and get angry and probably think "Grr ok you are going to get it!" and as he is turning around, quickly advance up to him, so when he hits you, he will also hit himself. Then back away from him and explode him to his doom, as you have only lost about 40% of your health. Now if you replay that tactic you will beat him twice without dying! To avoid being killed, just run up to an enemy and shoot them. Boom, you have damaged them so they are weaker later on, thus you have a fresh start.

Zooming Around

Ok, now we got this speed amongst us. What do we do with it? Normally Thunder users camp around at the back and blast from there, but you have a Hornet, and need to use this speed or it is pointless. Well, you should get in a bit closer. Zooming around more of up the front, just use those Firebirds, Isidas, and Freezes, and sometimes Twins, as your cover. Stick around near them, but don't go infront of them, you will die. Stay behind them and about 25m or 30m away from the enemy. But don't just stand there, move around! Railguns and Shafts will be looking at you who are on the enemy team, and will be thinking "Yum yum :twisted:", but show them tactic with dodging skills, I suppose I have some dodging skills with Railguns, netherless I still die and I am not perfect. So what you should do is something like "figure 8's" behind your forces, thus, also shooting the enemies. Enemy snipers will continuosly miss hopefully, but let's hope they don't fiigure out your pattern. If you want to make it look not so obvious, you can zoom around in weird shapes like a 3-leaf clover :lol: shape, and the enemies should miss.

Shooting and Fleeing

Shooting while driving around with this incredibly fast tank maybe hard, but it will really muck the shafts up when you are driving around and hitting them. They will be staring at you with their scope locked on following you, but just drive around and shoot them, they will jerk around to the side, it will muck their scope up, and then they should immediatly let go of the space bar from the shock of the impact :lol: and you would have a good chance of killing them. However, if they did not shoot from the impact, they will still suffer. Their direct aim would have mucked up, and they heave to slowly turn their gun towards you again. So just keep driving, right out of their angle, and keep shooting them.

 

A lovely thing to do to enemies with a Hornet. Rails will never hit you when you do things like this. 8) perfect way to confuse them, and make them use up a gun shot.

Weaknesses

As I have said before, every combination has its weaknesses, so of course this one would to.

1. It flips easy

2. Not the best thing for camping, or charging right up to enemies

3. Gets unballanced when shot

4. Low health

 

Try not to have or expose any of these problems with your playing, it will easilly get you killed.

Twins + Viking, or Twins + Hunter

General

Twins and Hunter or Twins and Viking (as you get later on), is a more brutish and high damage-able weapon. It does more damage then Smokey, (and Thunder if you have M3 twins). This powerful weapon is used for charging or mid-feilding. This weapon is exceptional against snipers with shaft, Railgun, and tipping over users with hornet. This combination is very effective in polygon and silence, the 2 main maps.

 

Against Campers

Twins is a specified weapon for messing up campers. Use its powerful knockback for that, but it won't effect titans or mammoths much, so just aim for Wasps, Hunters, Dictators, Hornets and Vikings, since they aren't so heavy or slow and steady. Seeing a railgun and hornet sniping is your best advantage. Aim at the corners of their tank, then they'll lose controll and spin around to the side and miss, then you've easilly got him. If, the enemy has different things like Viking and shaft, just repeat it, and avoid being crushed, so aim at his corners or ends of his tracks and his tank will flop around hopelessly.

 

Fighting 1 on 1 with another person using this

Fighting someone using your own combination, first make sure its a fair fight, so you both have the same level of Viking and Twins. If you do so, then take the challenge and go kill him. But make sure you always shoot at the corners of his tank, it'll jerk him to the side and cause him to miss a couple shots, and always move around, but not fall down into holes or ditches or places where he can hit you but you can't, so avoid all that, manuever around and hit his corners, and he is your prey.

 

M0,M1,M2 twins with Hunter.

Now, this is a lower rank combination of twins and hunter. This combination is still powerful, and can beat smokies easy, if you use the right skills. Be sure to not be exposed too much, and don't act like a newb who justs chuffs forward and holds spacebar, use tactics like reversing with you gun pointing towards you rear, or have you gun pointing sideways while moving, making use of the turret's turning is vital, not using it proves you are a noob. Don't let smokies crunch you by long range, for example; in sandbox, if a smoky is camping behind a building, go into the middle area, and charge towards him once you're in the middle, so the smokey opponent is within range. If a firebird is coming towards you and is eager to kill you, don't just stand there or slowly go towards him, GET AWAY, firebirds are more powerful then twins, but suffer from their weaknes: RANGE. Make use of that weakness, and as he approaches you, reverse but still shoot him to his death.
