gate2shop???

Recommended Posts

What is gate2shop?

from what i kn ow about them its a very dodgy and unreliable company at best.

They do not fully comply with any European financial standard.

They are extremely dodgy as to their home office location which is important because that is what defines which regulations they are obligated to follow and which they aren't.

I really don't trust such a third party is there a workaround to avoid using gate2shop??

Hi, Shtaks.

Actually, Gate2Shop proved itself as reliable partner to us. Do you have some problems with payments?

Not having trouble with payments yet as i didn't make them yet on account of seeing gate2shop being a third party.

When i ran into that i did the most basic thing - search for information about gate2shop on google and several forums i rely on for such information.

What i found was a LOT of self advertising by gate2shop. A LOT of customer complaints. And one specifically interesting though a bit old (2008 ) case of gate2shops representative directly and rudely insulting potential clients trying to find out some key information about the company on UK business forums to avoid answering reasonable questions..

Although you are the direct customer in this case and not me, i would like to avoid making any financial transaction through them because i simply do not trust a company that does not disclose vital information as to what standards and regulations they work by.

I don't think i am wrong in trying to avoid any dealings with a company like that.

Is there any possibility to work around that?

Edit:

Please note this - why i am not eager to go through them.

While i am not the customer of gate2shops (they refer only to the vendors as their customers), they do receive a lot of personal information when a transaction made through them. Even if not potentially harmful financial information.

Terms&conditions as appear on their site refer only to the customer which is the vendor not the vendor's clients.

Their privacy policy announces clearly that the information they get can be used to "advertise" unless i contact them and specifically demand not to.

Here i should mention that one of the more common complaints i saw about them was their slow and in some cases lack of response to people who are not their direct customers and are trying to contact them. This goes hand in hand with the issue that some countries have very strict regulations regarding such "advertising" some have none at all which in this case is a problem because they avoid disclosing where their home office is.

To conclude - since i am not working in any eCommerce related fields and in general know very little about it, i don't really understand what is their appeal to vendors like you.

But as a customer i tend to try and find information from people, who deal in the field, about a company that would have access to my personal information and in this case i find it to be pretty much unsettling.
