The Gold box, a box that sets newbies into rich people, and the rich people into selfish tankmen.

 

I think the gold box really needs to be removed from Tanki Online. Why? That is just because the rich people will take it anyway. The Gold Box has become an obsession for rich people to rule the game and set it to their hand, but I think this should be ended! Also I think the spirit of the friendly tankmen fighting as a team will be broken; everyone pushes eachother, and the newbies don’t get a good chance to take the Gold Box. I also think that the rules should be updated to that waiting for the gold box will be punished hardly and not be counted as sabotage. I think this should be punished as Gold Box sabotage that gets punished for a week.

The newbies should get a better chance for getting gold boxes, because they are the persons in need of it, and not the marshals. I think that in battles that are for Warrant Officer 1 and lower, should get the Gold Box at every multiple of the battle fund of 500, because they are in need of the crystals. I also want to let the developers create a button, that determines if the gold box falls or not. I think this will get the spirit of Tanki Online as a friendly Tanks game where you can play as a team, and win as a team!

What follows is a well reasoned case for vanishing the Gold. It's random at best and manipulated by high ranks at worst. Furthermore the mad rush to mosh for the gold often corrupts the progress of the game. I presume it's offered as a bonus, and benefit, but it fails t serve those goals. A random "shower" of boxes falling simultaneously and vanishing after the first one is picked would give the opportunity to every Tanker in the game. I don't know of the efficacy of that procedure, but it's one wat that could share the opportunity. Surely there must be more.

A gold box is a whole different part of tanki. You have no requirement to go for it - for some people it is fun to "catch gold". Don't go for it if you like - go capture flags instead. Some people enjoy it. It should be kept in tanki, for the plain reason that it gives a bit of variety to battles. ;)

When a gold box falls in any type of game (especially a CTF), I find it the best time to take the enemy's flag! Everyone is at the drop site, leaving nobody to stand in your way. Why not take advantage of this?

 

The box is part of the game. Live with it. It is the reason why many of us stay here; for that brief, amazing feeling of anxiety and joy. for the players who have all tanks, weapons, and paints, "the gold," is all they play for anymore. Think about it. Most people use drugs when the gold box falls. People will buy crystals to get more drugs, giving Tanki some more revenue. It's a clever technique, honestly.

 

If you want a large number of Tanki's core supporters to leave the game, please, continue with your whining.

I'm bittersweet about the gold box.. I like catching them... But I hate when I get killed as I was about to snatch one or when a druggee charges in.

and I support this.

2 reasons -

1 - the marshals raids ruin the game for the real players. winning a long (3Hr. +) match has nothing to do with skill. its just luck who would join the teams for goldboxes.

 

2 - the goldbox is not fair for all player. for shaft its hardest to win. for freeze the easiest. also - people with mammoth has better shot then people with other tanks. regardless of rank and skill.

its just a sitting game. and a freeze-mammoth can sit there the longest.

Edit: actually, they should have 25 crystal boxes or something like that. They would be much more common and gold boxes would be removed. If the greed continues, add 5 crystal boxes rather than 25.

Why would you want the Gold box to be removed? I can't speak for everyone, but I find it hugely enjoyable - even when I'm not going for it, it is hugely enjoyable to be able to capture flags up and down with minute resistance. I really see no downside. Who cares if the highest ranks get the gold box all the time? They've probably earnt the skill for it - just like they've earnt the skill for playing tanki and capturing flags and getting kills and all that. If they didn't get it most of the time, then there'd be something fundamentally wrong in the gold box system...

I think that would be interesting. Like 5 cystal boxes falling every 12 battle fund or somthing and 25s falling every hundered or so. then i would feel fine about letting the gold box go.

I hate the gold box.

Reason: In battles, when the fund reaches 690, everyone stops fighting, they team up, pause the flag, all crowd around the place where it/they (Gold boxes) fall, and sabotage, shoot teamates, and the chat is suddenly filled with lots and lots of text, some english: Please can i have it? Others: No kill ok? and it ruins the whole base of the game. Also it causes stress and pissing players off when hackers get them, and some of the smaller kids end up in teers when they are so close to getting one but miss it.

They should take it out it ruins the whole point of game.

I have goteen three gold boxes in my time, and missed about 50 of others. I am making a judgement of what I have seen around 53 or more times... :roll:
