how do you avoid snipers?

Snipers are always killing me in the game. I die when i finaly turn my turret around see them. I need to have some suggestions. Im also very terrible at sniping, and I have suckish guns.

When you die you are taken to your respawn point, giving you a quick bird's eye view. Sometimes you can locate the sniper this way. Once you located him kill him yourself or let your team know so someone can take care of that.
