Railgun - Loading time after hitting the shoot button.

Wow, I didn't know this thread could become that popular.

I would like to mention that I do have skills with railgun, I almost always finish first at silence ctf, with railgun m3, viking m1 and storm.

My biggest problem is that I don't purchase crystals, and therefore cannot have the strongest weapons like freeze m3 or rico m3, which are in my opinion

the best you can get in this game. (and way overpriced at the m3 lvl)

The thing is that railgun is a fine and balanced weapon, except it has this defect of letting the enemy know when you shoot, so if he shoots you at the right moment you just lose your aim.

And I used the word "defect" because that's what it is, I'm fine with that nice effect of glowing before the release of the shot, but if it is more than 1.5-2 seconds it just ruins the gameplay.

I suggest that the delay will be decreased by half a second, and everything will be fine and fair.

Let me know what you think about it.

This sounds fair.

Reduce the charging time of the railgun by a few quarters of a second, it does not seem that horrible of an idea.

But the question is, would it become overpowered by this?

Of course it sounds fair =]

Nobody agrees that railgun should have more power, but I guess most people think railgun takes too long to release its shot.

I solely used Railgun for six months. I now do use it regularly. However, when I switched over from railgun to thunder, I actually found that the thunder no-charge was a disadvantage. I preferred the railgun charge where you can target your enemies. I know you can do that without the charge, but I found the charge helped me. On another note, railgun is not meant to face opponents head-on.. A true railgunner makes sure their target can't see them before they shoot. Then, the charge is of no consequence.

A true railgunner can also take flags easily, except when there is a twins user around to shake you when you have that terrible loading.

Completely agree, except a good railgunner can often beat a twins as well. The best railgunners I have seen never ever miss a shot, even when being fired at by a smoky, let alone twins.

Come on. Railgun is a sniping weapon not a rushing weapon for flag  and shaft is a true sniping weapon..

I am sorry, but rail gun is also a sniping weapon.
