Suggestion: Better Battle Restarts

 Share

Recommended Posts

The Problem:

Many players will quit as soon as a new battle starts. This is presumably because they did not have enough time to review their score and quit after the battle was over before a new battle is started. As a result, many matches start off unbalanced, while still having enough players to have a balanced game. The new sides are formed with players accounted which will soon quit. The sides are often unbalanced by chance.

The solution is simple.

Extend the auto-restart clock to 45 seconds to 1 minute. Give players enough time to review and quit. The extra waiting is nothing compared to the solution to this frustrating problem.

OR

On the score display screen at the end of a battle, add a button to join the battle next to the button to quit. Instead of auto-restart, make it so that the player must press the button to rejoin the game and then wait the few seconds for a new battle to start. Otherwise, keep the player at the score display screen until he/she clicks "quit" or "Join Next Battle". Add an option to return the player to the "Battles" screen after 5 minutes or so of no response.

Yes this is a problem but it likely not to fix the problem. I always wanted battles to have to be full before they could even start but that too would be a problem. 2.0 is supposed to be able to search battles out so perhaps when they included that update they can add players wanting to join to games that are restarting.

It would still be better than having 4-8 of the exact same game taking up space on the server because they are lopsidded to point of no return or only one player is left in them and decides to wait it out in futility.

And get that old guy some ex-lax looks constipated.
