Man, i think is a good idea. Still need something to avoid overloaded servers by some kids playing with the new button, for example, the punishment should be bigger than 1 day ban like sabotage actually(wich is ridiculous).

And besides the system to review the photo before submit, you should be able to add some information about the photo, the context.

I am sorry, i dont think thats a good idea,

because:

- You always have children who keep pushing the button everytime -> server flood

- all those pictures take mass of storagespace. -> expand HD -> $$$

- reporting of hackers should be serious bussines, may take some time, but you are the reason someone got banned.

You have to explain what happend and who the hacker is........

- if you have a button, you need much more mods who have too look into those pictures, searching for clues.

So, that's my opinion, proof me, i am wrong with good facts, not loose dirty words.

Here is my arguments against these opinions of yours.

Argument 1 (invalid) - Pictures are stored to userʻs computer, not game server.

Argument 2 (invalid) - Pictures take up very little room

Argument 3 (invalid) - there is no difference between pictures taken from a button and having to do it manually except users can do it quicker. If anything, it will lead to BETTER pictures

Argument 4 (invalid) - Refer to argument against argument 3.

Simple fix do not store the photos on tanki servers, store it third party or to the users computer, the text addition shouldn't be needed but is a good idea.

Good idea, except for one tiny detail: that would be an internet based ability instead of a download, so it would take up bandwidth and cause lower FPS rates. The real solution is no hackers at all

You yourself are incorrect, ProtegeAnu.

1- that requires one person to have a HUGE memory space and to allow that without glitches it would have to not be used for much else ($$$ from the owner)

2- pictures do take up a lot of space when they aren't compressed by a system. Not to mention we're talking millions of players and they each might click it more than once a day = way too many photos

3- Actually there is. As in statement 2, there has to be either a computer or program that sizes the files appropriately, otherwise it's an overload. It wouldn't be faster and there is high probability it will freak out if too many people click it at once (all those files have to go to one place)

4- as you said, argument 3 explains it (mine, not yours)

All have correct views from my perspective, but of course is that the only ones who can fix those incomvenientes are administrators.

that is why, I want one of them put an opinion about this, based on my initial suggestion and all the arguments that you all have here (I repeat, are correct).

I'll wait for one of them ... meanwhile also hope to continue commenting. thanks 8) 8)

This idea is already in use in games such as Runescape. You click report, and It shows all the chat from the last past few minutes or so on, and you select the "offensive chat". This is harder though, because many people are not good at taking screenshots, and taking and sending video can be quite hard. It could work for the chatbox, yes, but I do believe its a good idea to just go to a website like xat, where a anti-hacker group has people who have been trained and will screenshot your hacker very well. This way, no one needs to worry about video, or even tankionline having to do much. SHPS and SO are trying to work together on this... http://forum.tankionline.com/posts/list/15/122823.page

Its easier on tanki, and everyone else. Of course, you can still take your own screenshots if you want.

Thanks,

Sclam

1 - Pictures take up very little memory that should process in a matter of seconds (providing that your computer is of this century) and screenshots usually lands around 1.5 MB to 3.0 MB. That is very LITTLE memory/storage. And no, there is a feature in flash that can be utilized by programmers that doesnt even have to run thru server that is similar to a print function (excepts it saves).

2 - Like I said... 1.5 MB to 3.0 MB. Even if that is to "big" for you, then compressing is not processor heavy for the client unless you are spamming the screenshot function so much that you are attempting to make a movie out of screenshots. And even then, you take around 500 uncompressed pictures for them to take up substantial space.

3 - NO

4 - I program in flash and C, this is after all my JOB and that is how I get paid. Dont argue.

Personally, I think we have to go to the devs about this one. I dont think this is the adminʻs jurisdiction. Is it at all possible to contact the devs via forum?

To further enhance the security of Tanki Online' date=' why not add a button to the interface?, which allows taking a screenshot or a video at the time in which it is some hacker or cheater in the game, and send directly to any moderator or the forum.[/size']

I am not much knowledged , but i dont think the security in players PC will allow such a process .

after reading a few above posts i feel a coupon system(similar to double crystal card) for limited use and more coupons for true reports

I also think that this idea is not very good. There are a lot of people who will push this button like crazy! Maybe an alarm button to call some admin will be better(If some player pushes the alarm button more than 3 times without a reason receives 1 day ban). And if there is a cheater in some of the maps I think that there will be more than one player pushing the alarm button. So the admins will be almost sure that there is a "real cheater". Anyway cheaters are like a disease...

but how could you do that? ... is necessary because so far, no developer, administrator or moderator of this or thought about it

This, my friends, is proof that the /vote feature is not so well known as you may have originally believed.

It is further proof that a visible vote button should replace the invisible chat command.
