Gen 2 weapon unlock ranks

Hi,

 

There must have been a discussion on that matter, who remembers could post a link.

 

My question is: why gen 2 weapons are made available (unlocked) on that low ranks ?

I would propose the following unlock ranks for M0, M1, M2 and M3 respectively:

 

Thunder: WO-1, WO-3, 3rd L, Major

Freeze: WO-2, WO-4, 2nd L, Lt Colonel,

Ricochet: WO-3, WO-5, 1st L, Colonel

Shaft: WO-4, 3rd L, Captain, Brigadier

 

It seems, that below these ranks these weapons are rare in battles giving to much advantage.

 

To keep players playing the game must be interesting -- on ranks from WO to Lt. Colonel the game could be or become suddenly very unbalanced -- not much enjoyable.

And above Lieutenant/Captain/Major there will be not much left to gain.

 

No wonder many players leave or turn to gold collectors or fund robbers.

To support buyers... However, the ranks that you chose are pretty poor anyway. I mean, the purpose of that would be so only people who gained crystals via "legit" methods - crystal boxes, funds, and daily bonuses - get the upgrades, right? Well, I know lots of people who have saved for m2 weapons early, way before the lieutenants and captains... Also, remember tanki need to make money, and they do that by supporting buyers.

A good idea :thumbup: ,but I think tanki wont agree with this.Because this unlock ranks are for non buyers,buyers always love to have good weapon in low rank so they can beat many non buyers like me.And in another aspect,tanki need money from those buyers to keep the game running.

Yep, the money is the key ...

But a lot of people would buy few crystals from time to time to stay in the competition. Right now you have to buy a lot and not many can afford that.

 

I wish you could explain why this rank selection is bad -- I can't deny, that several players are capable of saving crystals to buy weapons before these ranks -- so they will get the same advantage as buyers.

 

I'm surprised to see how many players keep hopelessly trying to save for better weapons -- the more they fail the less chance they have.

 

BTW. What are the ranks above Second Lieutenant good for?

Whats the meaning of setting rank limits to games?

if tanki was an "offline" :XD: game I think the rank for upgrade every weapons and tanks could be so... but it's an online, free, browser game :D

so... money= success= upgrades :P

+Without buyers, there wouldn't be a tanki.

I was thinking this very same thing a while ago, why do the first three guns and hulls get the upgrades in a much more expanded time frame than the larger guns and hulls, which are made available rapidly.

 

But I suppose it is because in the old days of Tanki the only guns and hulls available were few, so they stretch them along the rank line as best as they can.

But then the new stuff comes along, they felt no need to stretch their requirement along the rank line?

This is, obviously, to support buyers, which comes off as completely unfair when a Warrant Officer 4 is forced to face off against Viking M3 and Thunder M3.

 

I support the cause to stretch the item requirements along the rank line.

Just because tanki needs buyers as Skitee has told.

Right now Tanki is oriented to "luxury" segment (Average purchase $100).

Why don't they spread into much bigger middle class segment (Average Purchase $5).

 

How many players wouldn't pay $5 in a month to have top hardware of the rank?

Come on, its less than the bills for cellular(mobile)phones.

First of all, your allocation is poor because, whatever the situation, tanki should NOT discriminate against epic savers. I know people who save for thunder m2 at wo3, so thus thunder m2 should be wo3. Using that logic, freeze m2 should be wo4, ricochet m2 should be wo5 and shaft m2 should be third lieutenant. Maybe the m3s could be stretched out further, but still... I guess the fact that I had m3 thunder at wo5 does make me a bit biased in this respect.

 

About your two questions:

1. Kudos; A sign of Experience; Ability to create clans, join better clans etc;

2. Setting rank limits means you want to play with people around your level of ability and such. As a first lieutenant, I prefer playing between third lieutenant and colonel. Lots of people also like playing solely with people around their rank.

I can see why you don't like the proposal :)

However, changing weapon/tank unlock ranks can't be called discrimination.

 

2. Setting rank limits means you want to play with people around your level of ability and such. As a first lieutenant, I prefer playing between third lieutenant and colonel. Lots of people also like playing solely with people around their rank.

Exactly !!!! People want to play with people around their level of ability and such.

That's why I proposed this idea.

 

I understand, that having M3 Thunder+Viking trashing M1 tanks is kind of a fun ... but only for the one who has this M3 ... other players were hoping to play with more-less comparable opponents.

Hi,

 

I did some math and the results support my empiric proposal.

 

The fact is, when releasing 2nd generation hardware, Tanki Online abandoned the first and successful game model.

 

The numbers below are based on weapon cost and weapon unlock rank experience points and show the ratio how many XP you can spend on getting 1 crystal, if you want to have enough crystals for upgrade when its available.

Example: if your score in battle is 1000 (experience)points and the reward is 100 crystals your ratio is 10. I believe I'm above average player and maintaining average ratio 10 on WO level isn't easy.

NB! Please remember, that getting better ratio in one battle doesn't count if you can't keep this high ratio constantly.

NB!NB! Please remember, that you have to upgrade the body too.
