Firebird...
The Weapon of Mass Destruction...
How is it able to contain fire and then release it?
How was it made?

Following the success of "Smoky," Tanki Weapon Productions were able to hire more employees to enlarge the success of the company much more. They were able to hire up to 67 employees in a single day! One of these new recruits went by the name of Anton. He always has been fascinated with birds and their ability to fly without the use of mechanics and engines. He was the last to be hired into TWP. "Number 67" they would call him, he wasn't bothered by that, however. Anton would just stare out a window in his office and admire the birds flying, wishing that he could enjoy such freedom.

Many months passed since Anton was hired, he didn't get much work done. All he would do was eat hot dogs, clean up the ketchup and then zone out for the rest of the day. The other employees never bothered to interact with him, they knew that he didn't have one of the best childhoods, and that he wasn't the finest of the designers. He has many blueprints of course, as that was his job, to create blueprints! However, he would never turn them in. He felt that all of them weren't worthy, and many failed to do what he had hoped once he built a prototype, but the main reason that most of the blueprint's prototypes failed was because he would zone out and stare out his window. When he was back in reality, he had no idea what he was doing before and messed up a lot of the mechanics.

On day 143 since Anton was hired, he was cooking a hot dog in the oven at work. The oven was a little broken, so in order for it to work, you crank the heat up to the max of 500 °C (932 °F) for a few minutes, and then lower it back down to 20 °C (68 °F) and lastly put it back to the normal temperature of 76 °C (170 °F) to cook a hot dog. The reasoning behind it was that when you turn the oven to 500 °C it pushes the oven to the max, allowing a large amount of heat to be pushed out, however, because it is broken, the oven will only generate a small proportion of the heat to be released, thus resulting in the oven to be warmed up. Anton knew this of course, so he put his metal tray in and lined two hot dogs beside each other and turned the notch up to the max and waited for a few minutes. He was about to turn it down, but a bird caught his eye through the window. Being an expert at birds, he immediately identified it to be the Crested Ibis, a bird rarely seen in Russia, he was fascinated at the bird and watched it glide across the sky with grace and beauty. Once it flew out of sight, he then came to a sudden realization, he left the oven notch at 500°C! At once, he was most worried and turned the oven off immediately; he opened the oven to check on his hot dogs if they were okay. They were not okay. His meal has been burned to ashes, and his metal tray was burnt out of shape. Some of it on the edge of turning liquid.

Anton had a sudden burst of idea. If fire can burn through metal at that temperature... what will happen when the heat is increased and lasts for a longer period of time? Don't tanks count as metal too? He thought. Quickly, he rushed back to his work space, and a blueprint was made. His invention was fairly simple. Inside his machine contained a napalm generator and a napalm releasing contraption, at the muzzle of the weapon, a small flame is lighted. When desired, the gun will release napalm out of the container and into the fire, catching the highly flammable substance on fire and releasing it up to 15m before the fire dies out due to the lack of fuel.

He presented his new invention to the administration and passed through with ease, getting many compliments. However, he was told by the administration that since the previous weapon "Smoky" had many modifications, he was to make four different modifications to his gun too. Anton, however, was prepared for that demand and already has his gadgets ready. He wanted each modification of his gun to release different colors of flame. However, he wasn't sure how to do this. For his first modification or M0 gun, he left it the way it was. He then duplicated three more copies of his original and set to work. For his M1 modification, he replaced his guns pressure container's methane to strontium salts. This giving it a red color, and adding more heat to the flame. He took this to Tanki's Testing Grounds, burning through a normal tank within seconds, satisfied with his results; he went to his office to work on the last two modifications. This part was tricky to him as there aren't many fire colors that can be easily produced. After doing some research, he added Boric acid and rubbing alcohol in his second gun container. This caused the fire to be first burned green then quickly turning a purple color. For his last and the most expensive mod, he added a Dicyanoacetylene generator into the weapon, thus when released into the flame, it causes blue fire and immense heat up to 4990 °C. Even the smoke is able to slowly burn through metal due to the intense heat. However, because this heat is so great, the muzzle of this gun was needed to be coated of tungsten. But tungsten can only resist up to 3422 °C of heat. Therefore, Anton made a tick where you will need to let the tungsten cool when you have released up to five non-stop seconds of Dicyanoacetylene.

He tested all of his modifications in Tanki Testing grounds, however he wasn't satisfied with the range, he upgraded the pressure releasing mechanism to hold in more pressure before it is released, thus giving it a boost in range up to 20m. He invited all of the employees and administration to the testing grounds and demonstrated his weapon. His gun burned through seven tanks in a row with ease, even able to burn through aerogel swiftly. The administration was highly impressed and immediately got artists to create different designs on the different mods and engineers to piece it together. Soon after they threw a celebration to Anton and his new gun, the administration asked Anton what he would like to name the gun. Anton didn't have any planned names so he immediately said Crested Ibis in honor of the bird that caused all this. The administration, however, was not impressed by this name and asked him to make a different one. Thinking for a few moments he said "Firebird, a bird that spits fire." The administration chuckling at his name wrote that down and thus... Firebird was born.

Anton and his birds. Awesome idea.

I totally agree.

This is the best piece you've written ever cab, I loved reading it, you really showed some great original ideas in your writing.

And to think I had M3 fire at one time.......
